... in other, good, news, Missouri has apparently struck down a bit of GOP union busting bullshit, nixing a right to work proposition republican lawmakers had been trying to push through. Thing got loving crushed, with a two to one margin putting it down.

Somehow it's okay to nest 24 boolean flags in one series of nested if statements.
Why... How... What??? So much evil in this world.
I'm pretty sure I had something along those lines for some later-in-semester modern logic class assignments. Can be fun! For fun. Never do it for any other reason. The logic gods will strangle you in your sleep.

You'd think it would be easier, what with all the silly mortals dying constantly. Unfortunately, they seem to hoard the bones inside crypts and such. Quite rude, really.
Clearly they need to reanimate the crypts, then. All the bones plus a nice crypt golem-thing, too.

...

... there's actually a web/light novel series that sorta' rolls with that. Death Mage Doesn't Want to Die a Fourth Time, or somethin' like that. At one point the protag basically haunts the architecture of an entire town and orders it all to walk off.

I maintain that if the gun is properly retained and handled (finger off the trigger) it cannot go off, this is my argument that you can safely wear your firearm with a round in the chamber, hammer cocked, and the safety on,
Like... okay, but that's just kinda' wrong. Those things do make it safer, but not safe. Shit happens, and about the only way you can be sure an otherwise functional gun is not going to fire is if it isn't loaded. Full stop. There's no guarantee for anyone that they're going to be able to keep a firearm pointed in a safe direction in case of an accident.

We accept the risks for certain roles, and ideally provide the resources they need to mitigate them as much as possible, but that doesn't mean they aren't there (or a civilian can actually meet similar standards of mitigation, for that matter. Big ol' difference between being fed for keeping up to standard and having to feed yourself while keeping up to standard, et al).

E: ... any case, yeah, like basically every single bit of firearm training I've encountered over the course of my life have been pretty clear on transporting loaded firearms, with the directive about as clear and consistent as pointing it at something you don't want to die. Don't. Don't do it. The same alcoholic with a history with organized crime that taught me how to make pipe bombs when I was a pre-teen even repeated and was consistent on that one.

I still just want more ogre battle style combat and character development, really. Extra gubbins (skill trees or summat, I'unno) would be great.

The days I wished trying to code didn't give me basically crippling headaches are myriad, 'cause every year that goes by is another one that makes me think it'll only happen if I personally do it :-\

E: Though I think the worst part of it is a fair amount of mobile games actually come close, it's just they promptly turn around when they're almost there and screw the thing over in the name of monetization. Bleh.

I... don't think we'd entirely run out at all? Pretty sure there's non-organic processes that produce oxygen dottering around, and beyond that there's bunches of the stuff entangled with other junk. The air might go oxyflat, but something near half the earth's crust is apparently made of the stuff so you're going to have some hella' hoops to jump through to get rid of it all.

App's probably not on the table, yet, but easing mail-in and whatnot demonstrably helps, iirc. Same day registration is good, too, along with more voting sites. Then either make voting day a weekend day or extend the period over like a goddamn week because seriously bugger that weekday bullshite with a rusty fork.

'Bout all that's left after that is dumping the vote suppressing fucks that is the GOP down a hole and bury them, ah ha ha.

I... I tried. Got through three of the faintly mind-numbing tutorial story things (so nine, ten matches in) and couldn't keep going. Dunno if it's eternal's fault, per se*, though. Something about the general hearthstone-esq design just rubs me real wrong. I like card games of the general ilk, by and large, but for whatever reason just the raw aesthetics of it alone are a pretty serious turnoff. Didn't see anything that drew me in enough to offset that before that plus the please-let-me-stab-the-devs-for-this intro sequence ran me off :-\

* Though those tutorial story things mentioned are borderline cancer -- one or two handhold rounds to familiarize I can accept, fif-fucking-teen (plus, counting the very first) is a bit gorram much.

Take the time to varyingly literally shoot a russian before bricking, maybe. Burn an effigy of the electoral college for overriding the popular vote in favor of a republican fuckwit again, too. Go find a branch of fox and co. to metaphorically set on fire, I'unno. Buncha' stuff to do before bricking someone, really.

Would you guess as well that the younger generation isn't doing so well about being taught how to manage emotions and where to draw clinical conclusions about how they feel?
I'd guess they're doing a few orders of magnitude better than the older generations did, at least. They were pretty impressively shit at it, partially visible by how poorly the people they raised do at it. Stuff like widespread lead poisoning didn't help, heh.

Not doing so well is still pretty applicable for the younger'ns, though. Maybe another generation or two five and mental healthcare will be purged of its stigmas and/or actually funded and we'll be able to upgrade to doing middlingly well!

Quote from: Tales of Herding Gods, chapter 148
The little fox asked curiously, "Bull Two, you actually know how to control wind."

The green bull smiled, "What's so hard about controlling wind? I'm a species of dragon and controlling the tempest is my innate ability. You'll know when you look at my skin. Aren't my green skin and hair similar to the green dragon? My ancestor is the green dragon. It's not something you little demons could be compared to!"

He was very arrogant. His bloodline made him much different from the other strange beasts. If he met other strange beasts, he could just use his dragon's might to intimidate the opponent and turn them docile.

Hu Ling'er stroke his scalp and his cowskin was glossy and extremely thick. His skin had astonishing defense and the dragon's scales on his neck were also dazzling to the eyes. She exclaimed in admiration, "Bull Two, your skin must be worth a lot of money."

The green bull stumbled and immediately shut its mouth

[We don't generally have corruption like "sorry you won't get power to your house unless you pay us extra" kind of stuff.
Shit along those lines is pretty damn common, actually, from what I've seen. Usually not specifically re: basic utilities (though ware the poison and whatnot) and it's more "know the right person who you just happen to provide favors to or this shit will take forever and possibly cost you extra", but various low level bureaucracy and (breaking/bypassing the) law related shenanigans have it pop up pretty often.

Consumer level corruption largely amounts to stealing pens from work, but the next step up -- administration and elected local officials, mostly -- gets into all sorts of shite, particularly in less urban areas. The good ol' boy network is pretty bloody rotten.
