Alternatively, assign whatever numbers you feel like using and blame the warp for discrepancies. You're running a forum game, not a research project on hypothetical population growth.

Sometime in the next week or so I'm probably going to help literally salt the earth around a public library.

... apparently we're not allowed to use herbicide to deal with weeds growing into the pavement, and recommended procedure is to salt it. So... yeah. Part of me finds it a bit of a shame I don't have period appropriate clothing to wear. Most of me's just trying to find an upside to doing gardening/grounds maintenance in fuck off summer weather during the suicidal idiot part of the day.

Eh... difficulty wise EH:F is pretty easy until you get pretty far in. Or was, last I played. After a point it gets nasty, though -- boss ships that can basically one-shot your starbase even through hefty defenses, stuff like that. You end up actually needing to min-max a bit and run a few ships concurrently so you have effective backup. Not in a particularly unenjoyable way, though.

The biological symmetry is probably closer to plant cuttings and whatnot, if you're going that route with fragmentation, or some variation of lower level asexual reproduction.

There's apparently more or less explicitly parallel with sexual reproduction formulations, as well -- male and female soulstuff combining to make soulspawn.

... like? If there's better ones in this style folks interested in this game would probably enjoy hearing about them, heh.

Yeah... I actually prefer frontier to the base one rather significantly. Get basically all the good bits, but with much less empty parts gameplay wise and generally bigger/more interesting fights.

Stupid Question:

Reincarnation is basically the recycling of souls.  If the total population of stuff-with-souls grows, where do the 'new' souls come from?
Depends on the specific metaphysics. Sometimes there's mechanism for new souls to show up one way or another (more created, old ones fragmenting, etc.), sometimes there's not and there's always been a (massive) number waiting for something to get stuck in, sometimes there's not and some things just end up soulless p-zombie equivalents. Sometimes the question isn't really addressed and maybe you get whacked with something for asking questions the person you're asking don't want to answer.

So yeah. It depends on who you're asking and the metaphysical assumptions they're operating under. Not really a single catch-all explanation.

The Protoss campaign is the worst one of the lot - it's very dull. The protoss work as a sort of...interlude, but they can't carry themselves through a whole campaign as their whole thing is being dour. Still, the missions themselves are ok and there's a lot of fun to be had with space ship battles.
Point in favor for the protoss campaign, though. It's the one with Brother Untz, the escaped space DJ with giant headphones and techno magic spinning hubcap hands.

... honestly, that makes the event less interesting. Anti-tank attack on a bunch of magazine editors is significantly more explicable than an attack on a redaction archive.

Doesn't work, sadly. Both the solstice and the ungodly temperature likes to strangle their meals with their own appendages.

Sacrifices just make them annoyed enough to convince a few more parents to leave their kids in a closed up car sans AC.

Well, effective heat's already breaching three digits and humidity's bumping up into the "100% but somehow not raining" territory that's basically the atmosphere turning to jello, and consequently the bugs are back in fuck-you town again, so... bugger that. Bugger summer. Sodomize summer with a cactus studded with rusty nails. This entire half-plus of the year can go to hell and take the hell it's bringing back with it.

But ah, give it another decade or three, brits. That ocean stream has good odds of shifting fairly soon, and then your fun times begin.

Yeah, just like some GOP fuck noted down all they have to do to get folks to shit on people that actually want this shit to stop is put kids in cages and blame people for not capitulating to everything the GOP wants immediately. Apparently it's working on some subset of the population.

Sessions also apparently straight up said they're doing this, in part, to scare away border crossers. Probably some other shit, too, I'unno. KKKeebler elf has been on the ball, it seems.

And the wall thing is a maybe, but from what I recall someone's already floated legislation that would fund the wall in exchange for not tearing families apart, building fucking fun sized concentration camps complete with kages4kiddies, and maybe cutting back on the whole "losing thousands of children and/or keeping children from their parents for years" thing (though I might be misremembering with that last bit being part of the proposal). Trump's lot apparently refused it out of hand.

General Discussion / Re: How much have you spent on Steam?
« on: June 19, 2018, 05:11:51 pm »
422-ish USD, after purging card sales from the list, between 2011 and now. That's not counting however much came from bundles or somethin', though, I don't think. Probably wouldn't be more than another hundred, hundred fifty bucks, if I had to ballpark.

For this, I have 237 games in my steam library, coming out to a bit under two bucks per game. Could be worse.
