Oi. Don't go speaking ill of magic eight balls like that. They only have like five or six answers they'll give out, however contradictory they may be. Cadet bone spurs is far less consistent.

Apparently one with a significant appreciation of variety. Either that or it was multilingual and decided to jam all of it into one menu.

Hey, we might be able to sustain a larger population than projected if we can (effectively, if nothing else) de-age the elderly. Just think for a moment about the amount of labor currently past the retirement age biological immortality (or at least substantially increased lifespan) would allow us to stop paying benefits for and force back into the job market :V

Hell, with the experience advantage, assuming the neurological degeneration could be reversed, we could even disproportionately tax them and support younger generations in their stead if they corner the market in the process.

... I think I'm starting to get enthusiastic about this, actually. We could turn the whole thing on its head. In exchange for immortality, the ones benefiting from it can alternate labor periods (so they still get the opportunity to freely enjoy their time, of course) so those that don't immediately need the lifespan extension can enjoy their formative decades without much concern.

Give folks the choice. Work so that others don't have to, or die when biology intended. Basically what most places already do in the elderly's favor, just in reverse once the physical and mental deterioration that makes it happen that way have been halted. Best idea, I swear.

Semi-automatic means that the force of the shot is somehow used to chamber the next shot. Revolver, bolt, lever, and pump action repeaters are not semi-automatic, nor are the various forms of single-shot systems.

EDIT: Dicks stopped selling that type of rifle in their main stores years ago. All they're doing now is applying the same policy to their affiliate store chains.
Also upping the minimum buying age, apparently? Possibly the more interesting thing, that.

Thanks for the clarification. And yeah, that sports store is just doing it for the assault rifle type weapons.

In other news, Hope Hicks, the WH communications director and longtime member of Trumps inner circle, is resigning sometime over the next few weeks. I wonder how many of Trumps 'orginals' of his inner circle remain, other than his family obviously.
Amusing aside, this comes shortly after openly admitting to lying, repeatedly, on the president's behalf. It's perhaps unsurprising for the communication director to ditch shortly after being stupid enough to blatantly state what they're passing along is built to whatever degree from lies.

Millenials stronk like mathematical paradox. But only stronk in ways older people can use as scapegoat fodder for their own failures :V

Wait, the Democratic party has membership cards?! Where's mine?
Surgically implanted in your prostate. You probably didn't know, and may not have wanted to. It's installed while you sleep if you don't opt out of the membership card plan. Don't ask how they got to you while you were asleep. People keep suggesting there's ninjas involved but everyone claiming to have evidence disappears, so...

... also, next time you register for a political party be really careful about the fine print. Unless that's your thing, I guess.

Maybe something like Make America Respected Again (too similar to MAGA?), has the same populist undertones while being a rebuke to his foriegn policy?
All quips since aside, I can't help but think that would be a poor acronym -- not because of the similarity, but because Mara is the name of a demon. Buddhist in this case, but it's borrowed commonly enough from what I've seen. Gods know no one in particular would notice or care since it's not a christian one, but still. Somewhat ill omened. Mara didn't succeed :P

... now, if this slogan also comes with the army of lusty daughters, maybe we can renegotiate. Try to get some lusty sons in there, too. It's a new age, and we got more than one old dude to seduce from the path of enlightenment, here.

It's actually mildly interesting. Even some that haven't withdrawn discounts have been speaking for gun control (and, conversely, some that have haven't been doing much else). Fedex, for once, actually had a position on the subject that almost looked reasonable. Didn't withdraw the discount, but stated the reason as it being something fairly trivial and effectively procedural to acquire, and then spoke (though, as always, it remains to be seen if it ends up being more than words) in support of some control measures.

Oh, also, re: delta there's apparently been a rather impressively blatant threat of blackmail and corruption publicly announced by one of the (republican, of course) politicritters with hefty jurisdiction over atlanta on the subject. Seems like as far as the GOP's concerned, not sucking off the (lyin' out their ass, now that I notice the end of that article) NRA is reason to change the tax code to screw someone.

brain also wants to know why words "more than most things" so hard to parse, but it's a quarter to three in the morning so time of day will be blamed

what do you mean they're in a different time zone it's too early for time zone bullshit, you're all central standard now to back to sleep

Mount the bed, bed the mount.

Dragon riders, ho!

Best lizard brothel within sixty material planes.

Make sure to also go with the grain. Cats get annoyed, scales get snippy.

Why do I wake up to this, brain.

Also bloody hell you've got your sexism backwards bb. It's old stupid masculinity crap that's still keeping people from wrapping their bigger head around males being victimized by females more than most things. If it'd been male on male there probably would have been notably more uproar, ha. Brain also wants to know why it's waking up to this, too, but now that I'm cognizant enough to notice it's ree reeing again, it's less confused :V

Both poison and shivs are mostly skill related, tho' -- the shivs themselves are attacks, but outside the power cards related to them you're mostly getting them via skill cards. Plus lots of their stuff is based on card draw/discard/etc., which is primarily enabled by skill cards (backflip, acrobatics, etc.). So on, so forth -- even caltrops and dexterity are heavily reliant on playing skills to leverage them (generate dat block so the reflect damage doesn't chunk yer health pool, et al), ferex.

Both of the existing two definitely (can) use powers a good bit, o'course, but there feels like a noticeable enough slant to both. Is why it'd be an obvious-ish thing to slant critter three towards powers. Exactly how, I'unno, but eh. We'll find out when we find out :P

I trust ABBADON not to get sketchy with this, though. To skirt the line, maybe, but I hardly think this is going to devolve into gay smut for teens with a poorly articulated rape fetish.
Oh, sure. Was mostly trying to articulate that I'm less worried on that front with lesbian stuff than I would be with heterosexual, since "poorly articulated rape fetish" describes way, way too much of the commercial romance genre.* Though if the ads and whatnot are anything to go by male homosexual material has a problem on that front, too...

* Well, either that or I've been beating the odds like holy hell when I've skimmed or read romance novels over the years.

I'unno, the iron and silent seem to be respectively attack and skill themed in a general sense, so it'd be a fairly obvious pattern for it to finish the trio with something power tilted. Just have to see, heh.

Not sure how exactly I feel about this one.  On the one hand, it's nice to see Cio being so direct, skips a lot of the screwing around that normally goes on.  On the other hand, while Cio has been pretty clearly interested this whole time, Allison hasn't really showed a strong reciprocation of those feelings.  There have been a few little hints but nothing that screams: "I like you!" from her corner<snip>
Like... isn't that okay, though? It's really damn rare to see in fiction but it can be nice to encounter a relationship where one or both sides just kinda' ease into things. A more chill build up... relative to the gut stabbing and whatnot, anyway. No need for strong reciprocation or screaming (well, on screen anyway *obligatory wink wink nudge nudge*), just folks getting along more intimately than usual. Smooth fluff, as opposed to the spiky and on fire sort.

Though actually, now that I think on it a second, lily-flavored (maybe homosexual in general, I don't browse enough male on male to have too strong a handle on common themes with them) romance plots having one participant being notably more aggressive/interested/whatever are fairly common, so I'unno. There's an argument it's a fairly normal romance scenario, I guess.

Conceptually it's common with romance in general but that particular setup also has a nasty habit of getting real sketchy real fast, and at least when they're not playing fan-servicey molestation angle yuri/femslash/whatever tends to be fairly on the up and up when they're running with that sort of character interaction.
