I have no idea what I've done, but I'm getting gas-like stomach pains across my abdomen akin to when I drank a load after spending several days drinking barely anything last year.

If this is a side effect of an intermittent fasting diet, then I wish I'd been warned.
um

drank a what, now?

They do get a ton of tips, but, to a large extent specifically and as far as I'm aware, investigations into ones that involve potential shooting violence are more or less bloody hobbled. Same bullshit largely neutering the ATF.

Unfortunately, I'd probably wager if they do get loosened restrictions (not that they particularly need any if it doesn't involve firearms or maybe rich people, iirc), it wouldn't be in ways that would help. Mealy-mouthed shits in the GOP won't dig their hand out of the ATF and firearm tracking in general's digestive system, and a decent means to track and correlate purchase and ownership with violence tipoffs is pretty much exactly what is needed to potentially stop the oversight that happened... and exactly what the GOP would rather see hundreds to thousands killed instead of allow to be implemented.

Which passage is it? I'm curious, also being a Christian in America.
Chunks of Matthew 6, basically. Most of it, really. It's pretty plainclothes about a great deal of the social aspects most protestant churches in particular, but organized religion in general as well, are effectively driven or sustained by being really poorly advised from a biblical standpoint.

... amusingly enough, it's also the passage of the long form of the friggin' Lord's Prayer but a lot of the time the rest of it seems to get kinda' ignored :V

Mind, it's questionable how much that matters. Beyond reasonable doubt is the bar for criminal conviction, and everything beyond that has a strict requirement of a fair bit less :P

I had a deer merrily jump along next to my car for about 25 feet while I was white knuckling the steering wheel hoping it didn't suddenly decide to become one with my vehicle.
... huh. How fast were you going? Quick check suggests if you were going 55 mph that would have been less than a third of a second.

I mean, he did use unwittingly, referring to more than just the trump campaign... and then we more or less immediately got news of someone (the probably cali critter I mentioned) that admitted to otherwise :V

Oh, the indictment didn't point at any americans itself, but we did have one guy (over in cali, iirc) that's pled guilty to knowingly assisting either some of the indicted or something related, or something along those lines. So just this opening volley on the election interference front has managed to catch a citizen, too, if indirectly.

E: Oh, though no, there's been tangible results so far, just not on the election interference end. We've had some plea deals/guilty verdicts on other fronts already.

Naturally, the abandoned moped will be the primary sacrifice of that ritual. It's not to prevent sea level rise this time, though. Presumably the vehicle's destruction will strengthen the seawalls by way of material resonance.

Oh yeah. Dunno if it's been mentioned yet, didn't see it. Actually saw mention walking by the TV, so hey. First(?) indictments of russian individuals for 2016 election tampering. I liked how the news people were talking about how this administration was going to prevent further interference, like the answer wasn't a two word response that started with "fuck" and ended with "all" ::)

Eh, for what it's worth the guy's also apparently tried to backtrack on the claim since I had last seen mention of it. Have a better idea later, I guess, if it stays in the news et al long enough people care enough to find out.

Isn't that the whole white supremacist schtick though? That their country is being taken away from them, that it's being given over to brown people rather than "native" Americans? That they're being squeezed out of their own idealized world by forces they hold contempt for?
Like, sure, but it's a fair bit more focused than the more passive, for lack of a better word at the moment, pressure you seemed to be talking about. Difference between looking at the world around you and coming to the conclusion it's gone to shit, and being around people actively pushing the message and training you to kill, y'know?

Link? I haven't heard anything about that.
First thing I found looking it up again. Some other links in there, and it's probably usable as a springboard to hunt up other sources if you feel like it.

Uh. Last I checked this latest guy was straight up trained by a white supremacist group, which so far as what amounts to normal influences for a murder spree goes is fairly unusual, near as I can recall. Don't think it was specifically for the attack, iirc, but yeeaaahh. What happened might not have had too terribly much to do with the school situation and whatnot, per se. Know more later, I guess.

Quote from: Praise the Orc, chapter 19
“What work did Gulda do to become a warrior?”

“Me?”

Gulda’s eyes became distant.

“I did a tremendous task to become a warrior!”

“Ohh! What is it?”

“I used my halberd against Lenox!”

“……!”

Ian and Grom’s mouths dropped open.

“Warriors need to be strong! I challenged Lenox to prove my strength!”

“What happened?”

“I can’t remember after swinging my halberd! Kuhahahal!”

“……”

“I was unconscious for a week! Since then, I can’t count numbers and sometimes my hands tremble, but it’s okay!

Welp. Praise the Orc. First story I've ever read where a human masquerading as an orc fist bumps a tiger within the first eight chapters. And not like some kind of special magic tiger. Just a straight up tiger they found chilling in the woods, beat unconscious, and then threw at a pack of wolves as a distraction.

Earned itself at least a few more chapters of reading with that, I suppose.

Quick glance shows it's maybe marginally more involved than the blunt reading of certain passages, but if you're interested and want to see a really plain statement go check out Matthew 5:33-37, overseer. Somewhere around there, anyway.

Matthew's kinda' fun some days. I've always liked the bit that warns really strongly about basically everything modern stateside churches tend to involve :V
