Then we might not have to wait until may to find out if the correction is going to be interesting! It's a silver lining to the shitstorm.

E: Also yeah, Senate leaders look to be giving Paul the ol' något git fucked. Unless something rather odd happens it looks like we're heading into the second shutdown of 2018, and we're not even going to do it on the back of ryan's noodly shit sucking spine.

Heck smj, the word of god to inoculate yourself with is pretty clear. God speaks without riddle (that may be a lie >_>) and it's been made real clear what god's word on avoiding the flu is. People on the right path speaking the manifest word of the lord also refer to this message from god as "a vaccine". Because the world god made and thus god's word and message has been pretty straightforward on shit what don't work and shit what do when it comes to flu.

Didn't say it was just a prescription drug problem, heh. Just that they were (the) major components.

... y'know. Just throwing it out there. But aren't the primary dealers behind the opioid problem actual doctors, pharma companies, etc.? Hell, the primary pushers are damn sure the pharmaceutical companies regularly running ads and pushing the drugs on docs and whatnot.

Strikes me as vaguely hilarious if that bit of bullshit is de facto saying "down with big pharma". I mean, shit, if it'd do the job of prescription medicine reform hell yes let's start stringing up the drug pushers and bringing the hammer down on the dealers. Kinda' figure racist mcseniletinpot (RSTP) doesn't quite realize who some of the major figures behind the opioid issue are, though.

E: Actually, it occurs to me that by way of investment RSTP probably has a decent amount of stock in some opioid producing companies, which means some extent of ownership and by extension responsibility. It's always a thing when the guy does what amounts to calling for himself to be locked up.

Maybe Eightfold from Paranatural? She wasn't birdy, but she was an origami spidery thing.
... that'd do it, actually. Half thought of paranatural a while after the post, but now that you mention the name I actually recall the thing.

That's like the fourth time I've seen "punch magic" show up and have never heard it before like a week ago.
For what it's worth, there's actual terms for the stuff -- wuxia, xianxia, etc. -- and the style and themes are well known enough even in western media you've pretty certainly ran into elements of it before. Crouching tiger, hidden dragon is probably one of the more well known-ish films in the western sphere of things, if very restrained compared to the stuff that has dead people faffing around. Also maybe too old these days but most of what I'd point to on the non-animated front that I can recall is older. Kung-fu panda, jackie chan adventures, sorta' the bendy avatars, etc.

It's probably more accurate to call it martial arts fantasy or something, but I calls it like I sees it and I sees it as people casting magic spells with their fists. Punch magic it is.

I mean... geoengineering parade, too? Could swear we've had (somewhat sketchy) tech for artificial/induced rain clouds for a while now. And if it happens to involve hazardous chemicals, well hell, let's make it a parade about our military's on the ground NBC response as well.

We can probably pull off military parades getting rained on with no one dying or suffering long term health effects, is what I'm saying, if we really want to. Dunno if it'd be the world's first militarized hazmat march, but it'd have to be one of the few. I could get behind a mad science survival parade going by the white house.

"Most sunglasses just make things darker," says the commercial, "which can be deadly in a tactical situation!"

"So listen to me," says the commercial less explicitly, "and buy this shiny and reflective strip of plastic to stick in front of your eyes! I'm sure someone out there needs something to aim at."

Person, I'm starting to suspect you either weren't actually special ops, or you're being paid to say stuff you know is bullshit. Or weren't involved in field work all that much.

... which would be an interesting departure from WoMW, since it's one of the clearer examples of terrible people doing terrible things to basically everyone, even moreso than normal for punch magic stuff. Was kinda' glad when I caught up and the compulsion to finish reading let go, so I could forget most of it existed and get to trawling through other stuff.

Also I'm pretty sure I've ran into more than two that have at least tolerable protags and vaguely interesting plots (or at least fairly amusing despite being hella' predictable), as web/light novel stuff in general goes. It's not too uncommon that at the absolute least the MC is self-aware regarding how fucked up the scenario's norms are and largely tries to avoid getting stuck in it.

I'm mostly in it for the landscape throwing and absurdity, though, so even some of the objectively terrible stuff is fairly engaging. Just... usually not for the characters. Or the plot. Please stop murdering civilians and burning down the countryside and go back to judo tossing rivers at people. That's interesting, excusing genocide with soliloquies about roots not so much.

Uh... huh. That origami quad beak flappy thing shortly past those links. Was there a smaller one of those earlier in KSBD or does it share a remarkable likeness with something from... some other work...? Because I could swear I've seen a tiny one of those things before. Demon quad beak paper bird thing. It's looking real goddamn familiar and I can't even remotely place where I've seen it before.

Only if one of the parade vehicles are throwing out candy.

...

Do they even do that from tanks and whatnot? Flying sweets are basically the only reason I've ever enjoyed watching a parade, and I've never been to a military themed one to know if they chuck the good stuff or not.

Eh, it's basically the same appeal as any sort of en masse choreography, just different props, though. If you can appreciate can can dancing or the multi-person parts cirque du soleil or somethin', you have a base understanding of pomp and circumstance.

E: Albeit proooobably a dislike of the themes tending to be involved with said props, ha.

... yeah, can't say I'd disagree too strenuously on that one.

... in any case, pelosi is apparently in the sixth hour, now. Trying to get the house to get off its ass and do something about DACA, I think? Any case, she's been going for a good long while. Decently impressive, it is.

E: Uh, huh. Apparently the news things are saying pelosi has now broken the house record for longest continuous speech. Completely unofficial bonus points, she's done it while wearing four inch heels.

Near as I'm picking up he's at least as dead as the formerly beheaded could be expected to be, possibly more. He just only gives so much of a shit about that and is living in a set of metaphysics where being dead isn't necessarily going to stop you from stabbing someone, even without xanatos style shenanigans.

You're basically in punch magic land, the place where dead people can make teenagers fornicate for their postmortem amusement by way of martial arts ghost. Things can get weird. Dead guy walking around pimp slapping people or whatever zoss has been doing is fairly tame.

Just roll with it. Dude's dead as dead can be, and kickass enough he still goes where he pleases.

So my current top picks on Crunchyroll for this (/last) season so far are:
'Death March to the parallel world'
Guess what? It's an Isekai. Guess what x2? The main character is overpowered.
Regardless, they so far have managed to make it a little bit more Log Horizon and a little less Cellphone, so I'm keeping my eye on it just to see when actual drama will happen.

Oh, right, I actually read a fair chunk of the original web novel of this. First I'll talk about that, then about the anime adaption in a different part.
Yeah, if death march to the parallel word is actually death march whatever it is the novel (and from that spoiler it is) the latter is pretty decent for an OP isekai thing. If the anime is like FD here's calling it I'd probably say avoid it like the plague and go read the book(s). The books are a'ight, which for its ilk means it's one of the better ones :V

E: Though, that said, if you want the really terrible reincarnation/summoning thing, you want to go korean or chinese -- punch magic (fooxia, I still haven't bothered learning the nomenclature and quite possibly never will) instead of standard swords and sorcery. Never mind haremshit protags, you regularly run into mass murderers (and not the murderhobo sort) and often enough outright rapists, not just your dubcon slavery stuff. Power fantasy that can be more easily summarized as terrible people doing terrible things to each other, constantly. If it wasn't for the mountains occasionally getting thrown at people you'd probably have trouble paying me to inflict the stuff on myself, ha.
