That depends quite a lot on the stairs, really. Retrospect, now that I think about it it's pretty easy to catch fire and not die, too. The "because it kills then" is clearly implied, but it's not terribly assured... well, at least without a little extra help, heh.

snip
Wouldn't you know it, just in the last month or so I finally got around to setting up automatic payment for most of my grandparents' bills. Still a few to catch, but it was massively goddamn overdue. Kept forgetting to friggin' do it/finish convincing them to go through with it, and most of the relevant other people were being fucking useless and refusing to help with the process. It's only been like part of a full payment cycle since but it's already been a significant weight off the shoulders.

... incidentally, if you're dealing with an income stream sufficient to keep most, or at least the primary (water, electricity, property taxes, etc.), expenses paid, setting up autopay is really hella' useful if you or anyone else involved in your household has a shitty memory. Just in case citing some rando on the internet would help convince your fellow poor financial managers to start being less stupid.

They're focused on steele mostly because the shit he stuck in the dossier keeps getting corroborated and, considering the subject, it makes certain particularly odious folks in our government rather interested in trying to discredit it.

Never has such WTF graced this thread.
Pretty sure it's graced this thread more than once, actually. Miscellaneous object asslust literature has, ahem, came up before. There's nothing surprise about this particular incarnation of buttsex bookery.

So hey, cortex command looks to be free on steam for... I don't know how long. Currently is for X more minutes after this post, where X is however many minutes it remains free. Just a heads up.

Well yeah, he's the guy who can't keep his trap shut and plays loud music.
Gentlefish says, referencing a demographic larger in population than several nations, probably combined.

Dunno if it's still intentionally available for free, but there's a 4/2017 build still on zircon's site. The latest build link in the OP 404s, but if you cut off the file and leave just game/, you can find some stuff lingering.

Though hey, we do finally have a president sufficiently screwed in the head the chances of it not just being an impact story in the next few years is higher than they've ever been.

I'm actually fairly sure that first bit is untrue, smj. Like, maybe the potus could declassify but the problem is that doesn't come bundled into releasing the memo, or just anything the shit feels like doing, nor does the president doing the latter necessarily protect anyone else who happens to distribute the thing.

Maybe someone actually convinced 45 and co. to not be raging dumbfucks about it, but, uh. Previous actions lend doubt towards that proposition. Less doubt that nothing might happen due to the GOP having decided the rule of law is actually some kind of fancy fleshlight to be fornicated instead of respected, but still.

E: Though a quick check does suggest maybe. Doesn't seem to correct many/any of the other problems with the thing, but I guess that would be expecting a modicum of decency or competence from the direction of fucking nunes, and gods know that's expecting too much at this point.

Huh. Wonder if it's still in the state that makes it a federal felony to distribute. Of all the mess related to it, that's probably the bit I'm most immediately curious about.

Hec, hec, hec. It's cruel to talk about what that spider did to parker's lasting power. Half a page at default is unfortunately asking a lot of someone that... slings webs... like that poor guy.

I'm like 90% sure being unconscious around that particular pikachu isn't much if any better than just being dead. I've not seen many rodents expressing evil intent so clearly, and death is but one horror among a great many. Gods know lightning spitting rat is a combination allowing for a few not so easily achieved by more conventional means.

Watching some gameplay of... pokken tournament dx, apparently. Switch intermittently 3D fighting game. All I can think is that this is the most evil looking pikachu I've ever seen in official material. Little yellow shit looks like it's there specifically to beat the everloving hell out of anything that can't run away fast enough, and thoroughly enjoying every sadism infused minute of it. It's like the only two facial modes the bastard has is rape and murder.

Even what seems to be its friggin' idle animation is a sort of "hey, watch how violently I'm about to fuck this thing's face" sort of expression. Cheerful with a side of wink wink nudge nudge I bet this guy's spine would look great mounted on my wall.

It's somewhere between uncanny and unsettling, with a degree of impressiveness directed both to whoever animated the apparently homicidal vermin and whoever convinced the project leads to let them go ahead with prison escapee pikachu, late of death row for the mass murder of dozens of intelligent beings, presumably only mostly non-human.

And another one bites the dust, I guess. I don't think I've seen the "hire people incompetent enough to get caught" swamp cleaning gambit before. Seems kinda' inefficient, really...

... mostly I just wonder why the doc was aware of your bandwidth consumption to begin with. Or I did, until I remembered you're in the hospital and probably nomming their line. Then it made sense!

Now I'm kinda' curious how often that's a discussion they have with inpatient folks. Also vaguely interested in what it takes to actually make them upset. There's obvious guesses, but they gotta' have some oddball stories tucked away somewhere. Hospitals always do, and one but hopes gerbils aren't involved that time.

Yet in either of those cases I can't think of how such systems would deliver any kind of a stunning blast.  Maybe in the blaster's case it fires the magnets without the plasma with the magnets set to interfere with nerve signals to muscles? Though I imagine that would be a very temporary stun, only for a second or two, as the magnets being too small to be seen would likely not have enough mass to penetrate flesh at the speeds the blasts are seen moving, and would just bounce away, taking their interference with it
From what I recall of EU it's probably either sonic or concussive based... probably the former, since most concussion weapons in star wars are fairly dedicated.

Weapon wise, it's probably good to remember SW was perfectly happy to have multi-role weaponry that was basically just 2+ weapons jammed into the same frame, too, though.

Any case, quick actual check mentions the stun effect jams charged particles into the target, making their vitals go haywire. Overloads the nervous system, knocking them unconscious. More or less a space tazer, really, right down to potential seizure and death. Amusingly enough, the method used by stun blasters is apparently widely used in medical procedures in star wars verse. I guess tazing patients is faster than bothering with anaesthesia...
