That depends quite a lot on the stairs, really. Retrospect, now that I think about it it's pretty easy to catch fire and not die, too. The "because it kills then" is clearly implied, but it's not terribly assured... well, at least without a little extra help, heh.
... incidentally, if you're dealing with an income stream sufficient to keep most, or at least the primary (water, electricity, property taxes, etc.), expenses paid, setting up autopay is really hella' useful if you or anyone else involved in your household has a shitty memory. Just in case citing some rando on the internet would help convince your fellow poor financial managers to start being less stupid.
snipWouldn't you know it, just in the last month or so I finally got around to setting up automatic payment for most of my grandparents' bills. Still a few to catch, but it was massively goddamn overdue. Kept forgetting to friggin' do it/finish convincing them to go through with it, and most of the relevant other people were being fucking useless and refusing to help with the process. It's only been like part of a full payment cycle since but it's already been a significant weight off the shoulders.
