Faaairly sure it's not? Might depend on the genre, but I haven't heard that happen much outside of pretty low effort/skill stuff. Certainly something what voice training I've ran into tries to teach you to avoid doing as much as possible.

... which being fair, isn't much, but if it's in what level of the stuff I've encountered it's probably not something discarded as more thorough stuff gets involved.

I guess it's a bit of a weird one in that I'm not sure if there was ever any malice there. It always felt like he was reporting to us from a parallel universe, but there's always been the question in my mind if it's genuine or trolling. I guess we'll never know now. If he was a troll he's easily the best I've ever seen.
For what it's worth, so far as my memory goes there's been times when he'd, like... try? To troll. Usually alongside some varying degree of explicitly saying that was what he was doin'. Recall generally when attempting to make some other point. Caricature/parody stuff. Generally not malice, I don't think, but definitely occasional frustration that made a rough time getting the attempted point across all the more rough.

But otherwise I'm fairly sure it was mostly a tossup between genuine with an unusual way of looking at things and communication difficulty. If my memory's not going totally haywire I heard 'im talk a bit over voice chat a ways back, and it was both fairly in line with his manner of communication in letter and not giving any particular signs of being affected.

But by the same... goddamnit, I've forgot the word that goes here... whatever. By the same whatever, he also could never really seem to get much of a handle on getting better at communicating with folks, even when they tried to walk 'im through what was causing friction. Like boss toad says, failure to adjust and subsequent disturbance et al.

Trump had apparently asked Sessions to drop the case against Arpaio several months ago (he didn't, AFAIK). I thought it was mainly a state based case, and a former Obama adviser said that doing so is the kind of thing that people get impeached over.
At least this latest bit, it wasn't so much being a mainly state based case as there being a state-level case and an only somewhat connected federal one. Probably some other stuff going on, too, because hell, it's arpaio, totemic incarnation of some of the threads of corruption and malfeasance laced through our law enforcement systems.

Haven't paid the most attention to the fiddly bits detail wise (and my head's doing its usual these days, so what I did didn't stick around too well), doubt that'll change until something else happens on that front. Civil litigation starts rolling in, guy ends up behind bars for crimes against the state, somethin' like that.

Are people actually saying that whether or not the left is properly treated over things like that bike lock are somehow on par with, and therefore have bearing on the things that Joe Arpaio did?
Case in point, literally our fucking president. So yeah. Yeah, they're saying things like that. Not much here, thank the nonexistent gods, but yes, that's part of the national discourse right now.

Fucking hell neo, the piece of shit functionally tortured people, left them out in conditions that should have constituted attempted murder, and spent better than twenty goddamn years systematically abusing minorities and the integrity of his office with everything that entails, among all the other shit I'm forgetting because you don't lack for examples when it comes to goddamn arpaio.

Him not literally dragging people out in the street and personally executing them means jack all.

Well, if you want to know for sure, you can get it from the horse's mouth.

For what it's worth, it wasn't exactly out of line with your "average" (to the extent that even exists) cat 3 or 4 hurricane landfall. Things are a bit more personal nowadays thanks to the 'net and better/ubiquitous recording hard/software, but... well, there's a reason local gov't admin that haven't lost their goddamn mind give (mandatory) evac orders for stuff in line to get hit with those things.

You can survive being on ground zero of these things in the same way you can survive going surfing at the same time, but as a rule even lower category storms will do damage, with cat 3 and 4 getting into the "tear shit up"/"delete towns" band of things. Anything above those are "cross fingers and pray there's a countryside left the next day", heh.

... though the actually scary shit is slated to happen in the next few days if things don't take some hella' fortuitous turns. Parts of tex are likely to historical/effectively biblical level flooding between now and wednesday/thursday-ish.

E: Though for extra bonus points, it's pretty non-zero that harvey backs back off shore in the next few days for a bit before coming back to land, i.e. if shit goes real bad it may intensify back up to a cat 3+ and take another swing.

Sure. But that was in relation to the federal investigation he was under and due to be sentenced for. Not the state one, which was also happening, or whatever else may happen when he gets put into a civil court having just waived his right to invoke the 5th.

E: Which he did, by the by, for anything basically even tangentially related to what the contempt change was applied for. That's one of the things that happens when you accept a pardon.

Nope. More than that, it also only protects against criminal sentencing, and constitutes an admission of guilt if accepted. So... state might still be pretty able to drop some bricks on him, and he's now basically open season so far as civil litigation goes. Far as I'm aware at the least the ACLU is gearing up to strip Joe of every damn penny he has.

Also probably worth noting the last few days have got them one of the largest donation windfalls they've seen. Between arp and the trans thing (among other things, probably) their warchest just got pretty damn swole, as such goes.

Ah. Though yeah, last check before I stop, it does look like they've confirmed tornado damage under the storm's coverage.

Bloody hell, but the fact that all this is probably going to be the least damaging part of what the storm's about to do is a bastard of a thing..

6912
Walmarts honestly tend to be pretty sturdy, from what I can recall. Forget if there was an explicit reason behind it or not, though...

Any case, some of the chasers have apparently been reporting the signs of what could be a shitton of minor tornadoes near the eye. Trees ripped apart by rotational force, stuff like that.

E: Any case, I'm... probably going to shut things off for the night. Getting close to midnight, and from what the forecasts are showing that storm's going to be right about exactly where it is for at least the next four or five days. End up killing yourself if you try to keep up with it too hard :-\

Yeah, isp. Cut medical treatment, stop acceptance, iirc. Helluva' thing to do to one of our demographics around twice as likely to enlist as the general population, regardless of how large the raw numbers are.

And hey, it'd make sense smj. Fits much of his actions. Like, I write that calmly, but imagine it being typed by something less a human and more a roiling ball of lava and rage clamped down by a vice of really not wanting to get that pissed off this late at night.

Pretty much. Hopefully there's someone along the way so far as admin goes that's hella' on the ball, because we're probably going to need something approaching a saint of emergency management to make up for the party of making sure the government doesn't work well being in power.

And, like. Imperium saint, with the tank battalions and the laser eyes and such. Catholic might not cut it.

Yeh, mentioned a few pages back.

Guess it's worth cross mentioning here that trump's apparently signed a disaster proclamation for texas, probably... 50-ish minutes ago, from the time of this post? So it's something.
