Other Games / Re: Pocket games thread

Never finished it to find out, ehehe.

That said, the sequel is feeling a bit unstable. Getting intermittent crashes on this device. Doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it, unfortunately. Hopefully it'll clear up in the future, and even if not it's still pretty playable, just occasionally annoying.

7367
That's... not a question, but okay. If you're looking for the more common phrase for it, it's "zoning out".

7368
If it were a Russian fighter, it wouldn't have happened in the first place -- not only are there presumable ways to identify what country a plane is from, of course, but evidently we were in contact with the Russians over a special channel.
Yeah, and it didn't stop the bombing attempt. Also didn't stop the cyber attacks, for that matter. I wouldn't put much stock in special channels with russia doing fuck all, at this point. Maybe russia wouldn't bomb american forces (intentionally, or at least "intentionally"), but the plane that was shot down wasn't attempting to, either.

So far as nukes go, war's pretty unlikely still, sure. Unfortunately, on the nuclear front it's not really war we're notably worried about, but escalation and brinkmanship. What's more on the table than it should be is seeing is deployment of tactical scale (i.e. the tiny tiny ones, as nukes go) nuclear munitions. That is what putin has been intimating as being willing to do, and it's also something the current US majority party (and yes, including the current POTUS) has stumped for or refused to categorically state was off the table. War might not be a possibility, but the worry that's worryingly legitimate is this shit bringing nuclear arms to the battle field, if not strategic theater.

... all that said, is this event marks the beginning of a no-fly zone functional or explicit, I am going laugh, and laugh, and laugh, and laugh. And then maybe cry or throw things at people, I'unno.

Blood relation seems to be most of the trick, in my experience. Bringing in siblings or mother/child(ren) pairs/trios/whatever, once they're old enough you can see whether they mostly get along a'ight, usually works out pretty well. Getting them fixed also tends to help a helluva' lot. Usually mellows most sorts of pets to some degree, cats definitely included.

Had the best luck with sisters, generally, or mother/daughter pairs or trios. Litter mates, or not, but with the same parent. Off and on male/others, but those can occasionally be dicey if they're not neutered fairly quickly... sometimes even with that, but it's usually a fair bit less likely. Unrelated but young can work out, too. Had a couple rescued kittens weaned on a nursing mother that ended up house cats with something left over from the adopted litter... think one or two bottle fed ones that, even if not nursed, grew up around other young ones and ended up fairly friendly with each other.

Oh, probably. Was thinking I saw it within the last few months, though. Probably just the brainmeats going a little haywire again.

And lo, your keyboard has been anointed by the might Cat, Greatest of Memes. Know that into the future, all you do by its succor will be blessed by the grace and wonder of funny cat videos. Treat not the cat with ill hands, lest the curse of cat urine stank fall upon your works in retribution.

Oh. Hrm. I could swear we had another one that was actually a dedicated ME in general thing, but it's entirely possible it's just my memory screwing up again. Doesn't really matter either way if that's what you thought, heh. Was thinking of same thing being suggested anyway :V

7373
No no, I don't think it is/was a general ME thread. This one, specifically about stuff relating to the ISIS mess, which this probably counts to one extent or another.

7374
Earlier today, yeh. Extra fun, apparently iran lobbed some ballistic missiles into syria today, too.

Ah, article mentions it, just not quite the import. Iran didn't just launch missiles, they launched them from iran, whee.

... also, didn't the dedicated thread for that mess manage to stay unlocked? Might be good to preemptively redirect over there, assuming something incredibly stupid doesn't happen in the next day or three.

Oh aye, it was a good night for some and a bad night for others, but at least what narrative's been filtering through to some critter in the middle of bumfuckistan north florida seems to be more... lopsided? Than that. Something along those lines. There's win and then there's win and the former seem to be being portrayed the latter, basically.

Honestly, if there's anything that's vaguely something about that election it's that for most of 'em, the winners have been crowed as losers and the losers as winners. I still don't really know what to think on that front. It's like... yes, your gains were great. But you lost. Yes, you lost tons, but you won. Yes, you're a minority government now and lost a lot of seats... but you're still the largest single political party on the island. I get the perspective but it's kinda' offputting, for whatever reason.

Hey OB. If it makes yeh feel any better, from what folks have been saying about the SNP's performance, the sane evaluation of their efforts this election is they still did pretty damn good. It's just there was no way on earth they were going to maintain the numbers they had previously, heh.

7378
Eeehhh... I'd buy that argument more rol if the state of religious charity in the US wasn't what it was. It does do a fair amount of good, but there's also quite a lot of abuses and a number of areas where their "obvious" generosity starts looking less and less like it actually exists. You even mentioned part of it, heh.

You definitely have a good bit of the messaging and perceptions down right, but a good bit of the messaging and perception is also about as much bullshit as prosperity gospel.

7379
Hey, there's been trump eating habit "scandals", too.

... they've just been sideline events. Mostly. The fast food thing maybe less so, if for no other reason than it explains a bit of what's been happening with certain other parts of his administration.

... huh. Latest translated gamer chapter (178?). No clue if the translation is entirely accurate, but. Shoggoth. Straight up shoggoth. Literal, actually named exactly that, shoggoth. Can't say I was expecting that.
