Never got a chance to watch the hearings. What's the gist of it?
There... was quite a bit of it. I'd recommend finding a transcript, personally. Wouldn't be hard to find.

That said, the very rough, detail stripped gist is that comey pretty carefully said nothing much terribly actionable on its own that nevertheless told us a fair deal about trump's character that you kiiiinda' already knew, if you cared to exert the least amount of critical attention to his actions or history. Buncha' other stuff and details, though. Again, I'd really recommend a transcript, especially over what anyone (including me, here) says summarizes or highlights a particularly important bit. Media et al reaction basically started running at cherrypicking and distortion and has only been speeding up, from what I've noticed, to say nothing of what folks like trump's lawyer or a number of GOP politicians have been trying to do.

Still... suffice it to say, trump certainly didn't come out of that testimony looking better, unless you have a seriously warped sense of character or rather fervent belief comey just spent a few hours lying under oath about stuff often pretty easy to confirm to one extent or another. Maybe no worse, but certainly not better.

... though yeah, PSA for those who don't know (probably no one, but it's not a bad thing to be sure), we were talking about common shorthand for internet-published content. It's easily most prevalent in fan and original fiction (and, by extension, similarly prevalent in written adult material, which is where wierd's comment about erotica came from), but it's used to some degree for just about everything floating around that can be so flagged. There's fandom or interest specific stuff, but there's also a number of acronyms and abbreviations that are pretty ubiquitous.

In the case of the current discussion, they're common ones: You'd be looking at two works (well... probably, it's not like there's a tag limit, very often), one with content that included a polygamous relationship with two female and one male characters, that had pregnancy as a main theme or supplemental aspect (FFM Preg), and another than involved a homosexual relationship between two women and had male pregnancy as a similar theme or supplement (FF Mpreg). As noted, something of a difference :V

There's no actual certainty either would involve anything explicit or even sexually oriented, but it is good to remember stories with this sort of shorthand are definitely more likely to; they indicate that, for whatever reason, the author (or person otherwise discussing the work) felt the need to inform potential consumers (in the non-monetary sense, usually) about certain aspects of the content in the work, either as forewarning or temptation (or both, of course). Some extent of lasciviousness is one of the most common reasons for that, but not nearly the only one.

In any case, it's not difficult to find lists explaining what is what if you're interested and previously unaware, though you'd probably be best off cross referencing a few to get a good feel of things and an idea of how mutations tend to manifest. It's good information to know if you're starting to make (serious) forays into the great webby wilderness, or find yourself becoming interested in the creative works found online.

I won't attempt to influence preference, but I will note I'd give pretty good odds that so far as incidence and saturation goes that order is reversed. This is why you know your acronyms if you're going to be online, folks. They're what save you from walking into things you really didn't want to walk into.

Honey, that ain't FFM Preg, that's FF MPreg. Very different.

... and yeah, desc or serg wasn't the only one. also it's not necessarily a case of reading too much erotica. If you're not into that particular sort of thing, you develop defense responses to certain acronyms.

I wonder if I should offer my services of negativity. You insert media here, and output I give it overwhelming negativity.
Don't have any interest in actually looking, but there's pretty certainly a number of youtube critters that run with that kind of thing, probably at least one or two that make either a living or a decent supplementary income. If you're looking to provide a service there's a market to exploit.

Eh, they'd be welcome to if someone was actually pursuing perjury charges -- at that point what the reps and dems think is true meaning matters for shit. It would be in the judge's (and maybe jury, lawyers, etc.) hands, then.

7507
... I mean, except shit has been falling out that strolls through the illegality threshold without blinking, at the absolute least in regards to egregious civil violations. People just haven't been investigating (to a criminal/civil degree, anyway) or pressing charges for whatever reason, and any number of previous incidences were dropped not because he wasn't guilty as hell, but because his money allowed him to game our legal system. Nothing may be damning him irredeemably in the eyes of his supporters, but that's largely because enough of 'em has decided when it comes to trump they're as ethically bankrupt as he is.

It's all in the packaging my good fellow. That sweet gougeable customer packaging.

Mm, saw the very tail end of (short) commentary by... whichever station got left on in the other room. I can't quite nail down how hilarious it is his kid, someone who would have been along the ride with trump's previous investigative shenanigans and sundry other shit he got away with more because of money than innocence, apparently tweeted that comey's testimony showed there wasn't obstruction.

Like, of all the people to not actually know what that is, due largely with never having the hammer dropped on them in the past, trump and his kids would be near the top of a hypothetical list. Never mind they'd also be at the top of the list of people that would lie straight out their ass about it if they did.

... kinda' unfortunate that a number of folks are going to buy it. There's parts of this country (and I'm not saying they're disproportionately conservative, but...) that are so habituated to casual low-key corruption they're literally incapable of identifying it and will deny it is if pressed, nepotism and favor trading and whatnot just being the way the world works, to them. About all it would take would be to say that kind of thing is normal and totally isn't unethical or illegal or whathaveyou and they'll be nodding along. Bleh.

... actually, you could almost make the argument it's not terribly unusual for recent history. The last time the EC shat on the popular vote to the republicans' benefit was just two presidents ago. For a fair amount of our population this is anywhere from half to two-thirds the presidents they've lived through, if a bit fewer on the straight up election front.

Circumstances there were a bit different (the gap was a lot smaller, ferex, and the electoral bullshit more concentrated), but... still. Perhaps tellingly, for all bush jr. was less overt/called on it, he also ran a campaign fueled by lies, vicious twisting of facts and/or reality, and character assassination, more than just about anything. I'd be pretty willing to buy someone saying his election vs. gore was more similar to 2016 than it wasn't.

7511
Kinda' crazy, but at the same time... kinda' not. You see pretty much the exact same reaction on a smaller scale when a skilled or lucky fraudster sinks their hooks into someone or part of a community. Compromised folks abnormally trusting even as they're fleeced for all they're worth (for all sorts of reasons, and often reinforced by a need to not acknowledge themselves as victimized or having been helping someone abuse people, among other things.), everyone else having a significantly easier time seeing what the hell is going on and even more distrusting of everything the con does (because it's been proven that said con's angle is pretty much never to anyone else's benefit, which makes it a hell of a lot easier to see bullshit for bullshit). And the latter often gets worse as time progresses, as the con only rarely can keep from continuing to piss on everything they touch. Pretty sure there's specialized psych/soc terminology surrounding the phenomena (it's fairly common with abuse victims, which conned people generally are, if to an arguably lesser degree than the more standard conceptualizations of the label), but hell if I can remember any of it at midnight through the haze of a grotesque stupidity induced headache.

It's not impossible for the victimized group to eventually realize what's been done to them, but... it can take a while, and it requires a degree of desire to see what's happening to and around them. And, well. The republican folk largely don't want to, quite yet. Unfortunately for the rest of us in particular, it's probably going to take shit starting to fall down around them pretty hard before the process involved there starts to happen.

7512
Thaaat's not really a clean split politics wise, smj. When there's a 10% difference between one side's disapproval and the other's approval, you're pretty likely to be looking at something indicative of something fairly substantial. Would mean several tens of millions more republicans disapprove of the guy than democrats approve (assuming third party/indies aren't throwing numbers off too badly); abnormal (probably, anyway. would have to compare to other examples) tension within the party and abnormal resistance outside of it.

7513
That would be why the words "and co." were used, yes. Mind, given the degree of connection trump has with shit he really shouldn't, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he actually had some kind of controlling decision over that PAC.

... though I see I missed it in the first bit, now that I look again. I blame the headache this has caused, for it hurts.

7514
Huh. Apparently the rumor I noticed that trump was winding up to start airing attack ads against comey is... not a rumor. They're airing.

It's been noted before, but sweet blue hell trump and co. can't seem to stop making themselves come off as the guiltiest spawns of shit that's ever stunk up an american political office. I literally don't think I've ever seen people shoot themselves in the foot this emphatically, and I have actually seen a person put a literal bullet in their actual foot (admittedly, that's not very impressive considering it was a BB, but damnit, it takes effort to get those to break skin). How in the hell did someone think doing something like that against a person potentially testifying about evidence for obstruction of justice charges was a good idea? Does a drug cocktail even exist that can impair higher brain functions that much and not kill an adult human in the process?

E: Though fair warning, I haven't actually watched it because its mere existence hurts my brain, but folks that have report there may be some vulgarity should anyone who checks it out cares.

7515
Eh, there's good odds whatever he says will be fairly carefully worded -- not necessarily demurring, but being relatively studious about not saying anything that strictly makes a legally weighty claim or accusation. The statement was like that, too, ferex. Very careful to not actually say, "Yo' dawg, this shit be obstruction what the hell this scraggly old sot trying to bribe my pale FBI ass". Just equally carefully laid out a few events that are totally shit that could very easily have an obstruction (or related) charge latched on to your metaphorical gonads and chewing with enthusiasm.
