... so is the kid recent, or old enough that had stopped being your every day? 'Cause if it's the former and you didn't know this was coming, welcome to your new life for the next good handful of months :P

incidentally, also the reason parental leave for parents of new children rarely actually costs a company much. Those first few months the worker's going to be completely useless anyway :V

Yeah, re the whole treason thing (both for trump and, to a currently larger degree, manafort), from what I've noticed it's fairly unlikely from a legal standpoint. However, something like sedition or your mentioned espionage , well... to paraphrase something I noticed someone say elsewhere, we Americans have made something of a national pastime of finding ways to circumvent legal protections for our citizens :V

Kinda surprised you haven't seen one before. TV ads about it are something approaching common, though I guess in retrospect I don't think I've seen any 'net ads for applicable medications...

... also, for what it's worth, it's somewhat contagious. So it's a possible fun time not just for the ladies.

not actually fun mind you but still

If it wasn't, it's late enough and I'm tired enough I can't particularly identify what's wrong with it. Closest I notice would be being pedantic/ignoring context regarding the usage of history there, but that's all I can see, and I'm entirely too out of it to care about adjusting the sentence for someone deciding they feel like being obtuse.

... though do recognize how staggeringly passive aggressive that response sounds. That, at least, wasn't intentional. Too tired to try to fix anything about that.

Hey, the question is still a fair one. "Favorites" doesn't necessarily entail you're particularly favored, just most favored. Perhaps sithrak intends to make your infinite torment marginally less infinite than everything else's.

Just scope out serenes forest. It is/was a fairly major FFE hub, and you'll probably be able to find some information there.

... it's also rather likely that pre-mass media/internet political history isn't the most stellar at predicting present day trends, heh. Not sure I'd put much weight behind history based attempts at identifying modern political patterns. Particularly any based in material that originated back before data gathering really started taking off.

Huh. You using the newer translation/localization thing, or the pre-2013 patch? If it's the latter, grammatical oddities were specifically one of the things the former was intended to address. If it's the former it... could have something to do with the coding et al. Sometimes the base game forces weird formatting (due to differences in information density between english the most languages games get translated from), which can be a sizeable pain to change and occasionally just get worked around instead. Gives bits like you described at times, heh.

If everything Trump does ended up not doing anything, I think we'll be able to count this Administration as pretty damn good. Government that governs least and all that.
... I'd disagree fairly strongly. It'd certainly be less bad and gods know I'd prefer it over most of what this administration will try to do, but the governs least thing is the exact bullshit that got us the current GOP in the first place, and a fucked government that has no choice but to drop any balls that come at us is precisely what things like the Freedom Caucus want our population to get screwed over by.

A paralyzed executive and/or legislative branch in the face of the various challenges and issues our country, and the Fed in particular, have on the table is only good in the sense that what the party in power would do would be worse than even that bad of a scenario. Which is to say there's nothing good about it, just less things bad. Let's not call the smaller disaster a good bargain.

The government that governs best governs best. Least is very conditional to the specific issue it's addressing. Get that was probably tongue in cheek to some degree, but gods fuck we could do with throwing that line of sentiment out of the public zeitgeist.

Far as turning tail on the AHCA goes, have to say I'm kinda curious whether the backlash from a failed vote would have been worse than what's about to hit them. Is cowardice or failure more of a trigger for the GOP base?

7992
No, no, no chanting. Just a staid and steady march into an actual trial and steadfast prosecution of actual crimes. Nice peaceable reopening of cases and lawsuits that went quiet upon election, with a sprinkling of whatever else pops up in the meantime.

7993
Yeah, know it hasn't. Conflict of interest has been a mostly low-key backdrop to things since...well, the campaign started, and somewhat moreso since the actual presidency went active and trump became as squirrelly as ever regarding divesting connection to his businesses.

And they did, but it was contingent on the whole using that experience to benefit the american public thing, from what I recall. Well aware that it was massively goddamn stupid for people to believe that line of bullshit, but y'might as well hold folks to it.

General Discussion / Re: I like anime, do you like anime?

Scrum around detective themed stuff? I'm entirely sure there's a handful floating around somewhere with an impromptu gadget focus, it's just not a genre I'm particularly interested in so I can recall actually encountering one, heh. Might have more luck with manga or light novels than anime, though.

POTUS don't get to be a businessman anymore :P

also that's not a businessman helping his business, that's a politician fucking everyone to enrich his personal coffers

small difference :V
