Nah, it did, it just had a key to the gate. And for whatever reason the key that was already there and spinning to keep things shut didn't matter enough. Probably the damned voodoo curse, or the sabotage efforts finally managing to drown things entirely.

Think I remember that sort of abnormal action being capable of throwing you off for a while. Definitely experienced similar things, anyway, sleep wise. Sorta' like a bout of insomnia or somethin' screwing with your sleep cycle for a bit. Give it a few more days, week at most, basically. Should clear up. If not, maybe consider doctor or somethin'. Weird sleep cycle stuff can be symptomatic of somethin' else, occasionally.

E: Though the productivity thing's probably... well, near as I can recall interspersing productive work with other stuff (or at least other sorts of productive work) actually tends to be a net gain. So when you don't have the... I'unno, web spritzer or somethin'... your total output effort reduces. Something like that.

House votes on the president. Simple majority, far as I'm aware. Senate votes on the VP. Don't think there's much arcane about it.

It's totally a resto staff skill when you hit one hard enough with your stick.

That's not - for some bizarre reason - the vote that matters. In an essentially two-party race.

Why is that, again?
somethingsomething... connecticut? Compromise? Something that sounds like that, anyway. I think. Don't ask me for details, I don't remember them and don't feel like looking them up right now. There was some kind of reason for that when it was first implemented, and I'm pretty sure there's some good arguments out there for why it was a relatively good idea then and now, but... yeah.

And yeah, clinton's been maintaining a 2-300k popular vote lead for most of today, near as I've noticed. Vaguely remember hearing it may widen notably before it's all counted, for what it matters. It's not exactly a large amount (<1% of the population), but it is what it is.

I'm just trying to figure out why you occasionally use "ferex" in your posts. I have no idea where it originated from, and dictionaries offer up nothing.
fer example

For example with a southern accent, shortened to fewer letters.

... if it comes up, sure. Just... remind me. Even odds I'll forget before I notice clown news/honkening incidences again. Definitely promise to fix via edit if that happens, though.

FTFE
Literally the only person on the internet to use this acronym.
And I'm going to keep doing it until it catches somewhere and propagates, even if it takes years. Fuck the Fourth Estate.

8979
Uh, its. The problem there was more meatspace than online, as near as I've noticed. Net's still harder to do that, amazingly enough. Stuff intrudes a lot easier. And yes, I'm aware of how much I'm saying when I say that.

Baff, I wasn't commenting on anything else. Just noting that the power+prejudice thing wasn't new. The power in that formulation refers to that integration, de facto or de jure. Has from the start, even if it's used differently often enough these days.
Hillary's emails have been on every news feed 24/7 since it was just her and Trump, but I didn't even know about the Trump interview (the "grab her by the pussy" one) until I saw it in this thread.
Eehh, there's been some variation. Some folks have mentioned only seeing crap about trump, ferex. One of the many reasons to FTFE is that it's actually been possible to go through the last year consuming only news that was completely divorced in just about every way from some other set of news. Folks have been living in what amounted to different worlds.

whats the worst that could happen?!? oh right the climate go's to hell after the republicans destroy our hope of reduced CO2 emissions.

also i do not understand why people seem to think Clinton is corrupt. nothing about her is. all i see is more bullshit trump propaganda making up ever more bullshit out of nothing.
The news said she was, red. Been saying it for a long time, loudly, and from every angle right left and center. Been saying about all of it was an example of corruption, indisputable and inarguable. How much was actually true? No one major reporting on it cared. Genuinely plausible evidence? FTFE, my friend. They didn't do all of this but there ain't many actors involved that did as much, much less more.

People aren't stupid, they sense the way most of the media has treated Trump either as a joke or with thinly veiled contempt, but there's been an astounding inability to actually articulate why Trump has been considered so unqualified and offensive from the outset. The pundits and the media considered his flaws so obvious that their wit and egos demanded not spelling it out or taking him seriously
The morbidly hilarious thing is that why trump isn't qualified has been articulated meticulously... it's just no one in the fourth estate bothered to put it together and present it, or if they did not enough of the rest could bring themselves to stop doing what they were doing and report on it. And as near as I can tell the dems screwed up enough they actually trusted the media to do something like that instead of doing it themselves. As is becoming more apparent the more post-election contemplation and whatnot goes on, one of the biggest lessons anyone, but the dems in particular, can learn from this is FTFE.

... though baff, I'm... pretty sure that definition is older than I am. Systemic racism's been something considered separately than more personal stuff for a while, if my memory's working and the voodoo curse isn't.

I wouldn't be surprised if he blamed the uptick in hate crimes on Democrat/mainstreammedia propoganda. If he ever acknowledges it in any way.
Eh, pretty much anything negative's going to be blamed on something else, if history's anything to go by. I'm not sure he's actually physically capable of claiming fault with any sincerity.

Assuming he is not completely morally bankrupt...
heeheehee

Nah, nah. I jest. He's not completely morally bankrupt, as near as we can tell. He hasn't murdered anyone. Directly. Probably.

Though more seriously, dude's main skillset is he's a con man. That, unlike just about everything else, he's legitimately solid on, if not really amazing (if there's not a hell of a lot of people in the fraud market kicking themselves at the moment, I would be deeply surprised). Same kinda' fellow that plays confidence games with the elderly and convinces them to give up the money that would pay medical bills and whatnot.* Moral bankruptcy, at least towards the people you're targeting (which in his case is everyone, by and large, except maybe family... or at least his kids), is a foundational prerequisite for that. Can't really do it with any effectiveness unless you're capable of having a total lack of respect for another human being, and by extension are willing to do and say anything to them.

*There's been a handful of those trying to prey on my grandparents for years. Trump's everything is dead on for the behavior they exhibit.

8984
IO, which devil were you speaking of? Because I swear to the gods if what you quoted actually referred to that half the population thing like that, the voodoo curse and grumbling about hallucinations are about to be a hell of a lot less of a joke, because that would mean there's something in your post I literally cannot goddamn see.
Openly using racial slurs publicly? That's really about it at this point.
No, no, there's still the ghost costume and burning religious iconography. Or actually putting some of his more out there campaign... statements, I guess, since promise doesn't really work with him... in practice. That's still at least a few months off if it's coming, though.

8985
Doubtful he would have managed it, but eh. If it makes yeh feel better.

Dunno if I'd call it hatred in my case, though. Don't like 'im nearly as much as I did and I don't want him anywhere near a major political position*, but the support for leftwards stuff is still appreciated. Mostly.

*Maybe call later, when changing political track to impossible promises and comforting lies being a good idea internalizes more :-\
