You mean Tome 2, I think. Tome 3 was never finished, was it? It was more of an engine than a game.
Yeah, more or less. Don't recall how far off T3 was but it never really finished, and is probably more notable for some of the stuff made with it (mostly the DBZ thing, really) than the base ToME stuff.

Yeah. The given "apology" is actually an explicit violation of the second, being an attempt to push responsibility for the problem onto others. Making the problem out as not being the offense given but rather the offense taken by others. You'd be more or less expressing the same sentiment if you said something along the lines of, "I'm sorry you're all oversensitive little shits."

I actually forget the exact steps, but there's a four or five point list of what should and shouldn't be involved. Some of them, though, includes explicitly admitting fault, not trying to deflect culpability, and stating how you're going to correct things (reparations, corrected behavior going forward, etc.), plus I want to say one or two other things. You can see the official response floating around somewhere. Want to guess how many of those three mentioned are in it?

Dunno about en masse, but we're actually seeing endorsements withdrawn. Also fun times, ryan seems to have told trump to sod off vis a vis the joint appearance they had coming up. I have to wonder if something like this has happened to a presidential candidate before, ha.

E: Also jeeze, has anyone else seen the initial response from trump? "I'm sorry if anyone was offended." Fun fact: That could literally get you a failing grade in an introductory business course. How to properly construct an apology is something they teach freshmen, and that's a primary example of what not to do :V

And by that I mean I'm pretty sure I've seen those exact words in a textbook, labeled explicitly as a mistake, ahaha.

Why not have multiple in October?
It's not called the October Surprises, smj. No plural. One Surprise. Mind you they may change that by the end of this campaign cycle, but for now we get one surprise and a bunch of other things. Surpriselets, maybe. Surprisenel? I'm sure something will get worked out.

Happy October Surprise!
C'mon fj, we're not at the surprise yet. This is the pre-surprise pony show. It's only the first week. We've got three more to go.

... considering about the only legs the speeches seem to have is that they're leaked...

Considering it didn't have a brain to literally lobotomize, no. No, they didn't.

The aesthetics, at the very least, yes. Which, I mean. They did have that pretty well down, all things considered. Plus they're generally on the antagonist's side and get shot up a lot. Not very many people don't have a fair appreciation of nazis getting shot up, quiaff?

So the media is ruining their "we're incompetent" excuse in order to ruin the Donald campaign?
It's looking more like they just didn't need competence, really.

Not sure which one is/was using incompetence as some sort of excuse, though. It's certainly odd none of this came up during the primaries, but *shrugs*

http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/07/politics/donald-trump-women-vulgar/index.html

Well this so far tops the charts for Donald Trump vulgarity and attitude toward women.

Chances that it will have any effect on his base: minimal.

I gotta say. I'm impressed with the mass amounts of dirt the media has been able to dig up on past Trump. Playboy videos 20 years old, unpublished hot mic gaffes and what not from 5 years ago.....apparently the media IS capable of digging as long as their target is loud, large and orange.
The neat thing is that some of the news folks that are running that story are apparently saying they're actually going to be publishing worse in the near future. Things look like they're just getting started, ahaha.

There's nothing quite like a character assassination that's pulled off by the one you're wrecking. I'd call it character suicide, but this is more like character getting-drunk-and-drowning-in-a-ditch.

Ah, fair enough. Still waiting for the doc to load on my tablet, heh. Does get that concern out of the way, at the least.

E: And it seems to claim that performance should improve. Seem to know what they're talking about, but, well. I've seen a lot of those sorts of claims over the last couple decades or so, and sometimes they even worked for some people. Haven't had that kind of luck for me, ha. Will have to wait and see. Hopefully there'll be some kind of demo thing, as per the first one.

... FB's map is mostly identical to ToME2's, last I checked. It... also has things like Jedi. LotR friendly it kinda' ain't no more. Still one of the more interesting band variants, imo (also one of the few *bands I've actually beaten :V), but it shouldn't be pitched as LotR based. It's got elements in it but... yeah.

M'just concerned about performance, mostly. Comp already doesn't really like AI War as is, ha, and I don't think I've ever seen a series transition from 2D to 3D and improve things on that front. Though I do definitely prefer 2D planes for strategy stuff, by quite the long shot. Not so much an issue of complexity as just view et al. I like being able to see behind me, and it's hella' easier to issue commands :P

Still, will give the KS a gander. Wouldn't mind giving them a little even if I can't play the thing, heh.
