... man, does anyone have any idea what's going on with wikileaks besides them/assawhatever being a loon? There's something about a major release, then there's not, then it's the next day, now it's apparently a misquote and book shill?

Huh. Random dog on porch this morning. Clearly someone's; thing's still got the clasp of the leash/chain it was on attached to its collar. That said, it's been a while since I've been reminded how painfully obvious it is when a dog's been hit often. Behavior bloody screams it, cringing, crouching, belly showing, more or less too scared to actually run despite encountering someone unknown and possibly hostile, and particularly when hands are outstretched. Got it acting healthier without too much trouble, so it's likely it's not so much outright sustained abuse, just someone that uses physical punishment to admonish bad behavior, but eesh.

I'd be particularly surprised if soldiers, of all people, fall for the 'Hey look, if we twist these words around we can make them into something that could possibly be insensitive!' shtick.

Regardless, it seems fairly obvious to me that his intent is sympathy toward those who are suffering from PTSD rather than any kind of disparagement.
You'd think, and if you were talking about a person with much of that whole "basic decency" thing it wouldn't be a question, but this is the guy that's spent a chunk of this campaign cycle attacking vets and/or their families. That among all the other stuff that's shown his character is not exactly stellar, to pretty drastically understate things.

It would be entirely in line with previous behavior if he was in fact taking a moment to shit on vets that come back with PTSD, which is most of the reason folks are looking at the statement in question with askance. The context would make you think otherwise, but trump being trump it's still entirely too much of a possibility.

Clearly your car wants you to cut back on the drinking.

... either that or switch it over to an ethanol based fuel.

Usually at least has the decency to be tree or geology puns, though. Just not this time. The fault must obviously lay with Akura >_>

It definitely should work. Will be a code of some sort over on the right, if my memory's still working. I actually got my copy of D4 from that lot, and activated it on steam at a later point (After I got somewhat annoyed with how long it was taking the GG version to update, iirc.). Went through just fine.

Well, compared to florida, sure it is. Not a high bar to pass.

Could actually swear I remember the fatality rate vis a vis death via animal is either roughly on par or higher in florida than australia, too. Theoretically it's not saying that much since the actual death rate in either isn't high when it comes to the reality of things, but... yeah. Yeah.

Less obnoxious how?
Less political ads, less legwork nits, etc., etc., etc.

What is it with Florida, man? Is it just all the retirees or does the entire state sit at the junction of several alternate universes?
could swear I've answered this question like a dozen times over the years. The retirees are only part of the problem, and there's no need for extra mystical BS. Already plenty of swamp magic and burial grounds, among all the other stuff.

Trump's still not pouring much money or groundwork into the campaign, right? There's some small chance this next month or so will be less obnoxious than it could be?

... apparently trying to get the mother cat to wean that abandoned kitten was a bad idea. Her litter was just starting to open their eyes and whatnot. Brought the kitten in, cat took it in, left things to their own devices for... maybe a week, maybe two. Seemed to be going alright, at the beginning. Fine a bit later, too, even up to the point the litter was moved (which is normal, mind, and not a warning sign in the least). Noticed yesterday most her litter are dead and the rest are dying, and there's not much that can be done about it... at this point, I'm not even sure a vet visit would help any, even if we could afford it. Looking a lot like that kitten was abandoned for a reason :-\

Probably should have paid more attention, I guess. Kept forgetting to, ha. Made apparent mistake of letting other people take care of it, too. And, of course, forgot that when a parent cat separates a kitten it's usually for a reason. Didn't think to stop said other people from trying to put the kittens back together, which was a mistake. Good intentions paving roads. Unpleasant, unfortunate, etc. Always fairly depressing when something like this happens.

At least the mother seems fine, I guess. Think if it gets pregnant again that time I'm just going to bring the cat inside until the damn kittens are a bit grown. Second litter she's had, second one that's (about to have, anyway) died in its entirety. Last time was some kind of disease, too, though the symptoms aren't particularly similar this round.

General Discussion / Re: I like anime, do you like anime?

Can't speak for the anime, but the manga was pretty a'ight, iirc. Not amazing, but solid enough, and it did have one of the most amusing uses of a speech bubble that I've ever seen.

... how much if a Nod flag unrolls in the background?

This is terrifying.  Hope everything is ok, Frumple.
Yeah, me  too. And thanks. Should be able to talk to the doc later this week... they're gone for a few days at the moment, but I don't think it's that urgent.

Though that said, right now easily what the worst thing about it is that it's a think. I can't quite tell how bad it's gotten or how rapidly, because the details and whatnot that would normally be there, aren't. Enough is there to know it's fucking up, but not too long ago I would have been able to tell exactly how much, or near enough.

Can say that even if this gets cleared up my intention to kill myself before/when I start going senile just got a lot stronger. And it was already pretty strong, as I've had enough of my body breaking down on me to not want to go through it when it's no longer on biological easy modo difficulty. Even if it's what I think/pretty sure is fairly minor this is basically complete fucking hell. It's like your arm's rotting off, but you can't tell how quickly or how long it's been happening and sometimes how much is gone changes on you, but when and by how much is something you can't identify.

Had known in a sort of vague way that memory and whatnot going was unpleasant, but it's not vague anymore and unpleasant is very much an understatement :-\

... the thing being kvetched about is not the bees. Just to make sure no one's confused on that front. It seems to be happening, so better safe than sorry, I guess.

... he's johnson, so no. Dude's pretty right-wing, not even remotely a central enough candidate to get broad-spectrum support if something happens to the current candidates.

What would probably happen is just the VPs stepping in and going at it. Either of them's probably more likely to manage a win than any of the third party critters.
