General Discussion / Re: Doc Helgoland's Asylum for the Politically American
« on: September 28, 2016, 10:07:06 am »
So every year at crunch time, we have what is essentially a power struggle in the GOP between the zealot wing and the establishment wing over who has more control. To be fair, the Democrats are quite aware of this dynamic and are happy to use it to their advantage, which doesn't help matters.
Not that there's terribly much choice in taking advantage of such. They're not really being given much alternative between that and bending over for said zealot wing of the GOP, since the reacharound between factions on that side of things seem to involve iron clamps more than hands.

Don't see much likelihood of that changing, either, unless the GOP splits. Doubtful there's many other ways to get the non-zealot branch to stop voting in lockstep with and ferrying along legislation for the rest of the party...

Though do remember that aesthetics includes more than cute fuzzies. The tasty or useful ones get to stay, too. Also whatever they eat, and whatever whatever they eat eats, and so on.

I'm... pretty sure that would have nothing to do with dongtoads. Coyote, maybe, but not the venerable phallophibus genus.

The only deity involved in this election is Coyote.
Man, I wish. Then we could have the birth of the dongtoad grace the lands, and that would be wonderful.

... haven't we already done this? Pretty sure this conversation happened closer to the actual event.

Two days from now and we'll be hearing him say it wasn't actually him, but instead a body double hired to defame his speaking competence.

Please oh nonexistent gods, let me be making a joke.

Cut it open and see if it bleeds. If it doesn't, eat it. If it does, exorcism.

It appears to be, poking around. Biggest complaint folks seem to have is that it's a fair bit like the first, so not having played that is probably a good thing. Don't have a 3DS, though, so haven't exactly tried it myself.

Might help, though. I just break the surface, m'self. Or did, back when the only real source of heating I had was a microwave and I could still indulge in caffeinated stuff without much worry. Seems to work, heh.

Edit: I'm also a bit surprised that nobody seems to care about how his answer to "how will you bring jobs back from overseas" was essentially "tariffs."
We've known that for a while, haven't we? His economic stances (to the extent they actually exist, and don't forget to check again next tuesday) have been well lambasted on that front, last I paid attention to it. Don't think it gets much attention just because it's not the sexiest subject to most folks, but there's been at least a bit of treatment on it, off and on.

I know a person who microwaves tea.
It's more or less normal tea, providing you're just using the microwave to boil/heat the water. Have to be careful it doesn't explode on you, but there's ways to get around that (I used to stick oversized toothpick-things, some sort of skewer, in the water while heating it) and there's not too much of a chance of it anyway if you're not heating the water for stupid amounts of time it takes like maybe a minute or two, tops, for a normal sized coffee mug

You can even microwave sodas if you want soda tea. Microwaves work just fine for basic, day-to-day, teamaking.

Wait, are gorillas classified as hominids now? Great apes I know, but I had understood they were still firmly not considered hominids.
They're apparently hominine, at least. So are chimps and humans, but not orangutans. They're also Hominidae, too. So, uh. They seem to pretty firmly considered hominids.

Little good can come of letting zoo lions have a taste of hominine flesh, anyway.

E: Though as to what else, medical cadavers and whatnot. Science usually has a use for dead bodies, even if it's only training people to do things to other ones.

It's "First Gentleman", actually.

... it's probably worth noting that a google about the first lady title had a blurb about that at the immediate top of the results >_>

Who knows~

Though it's not like we don't have fairly close equivalents right now. It's not exactly commonly paraded about, but body paint is totally a thing.
