Oh, certainly not the only one. Particularly if you step into the written/drawn stuff. It's not common but a character that avoids fights they could win just to avoid fighting (for whatever reason... probably the most common ones I've seen are too much effort or too costly, even when victory's fairly assured) shows up often enough it's not really a major departure from applicable genre norms.

... just don't ask me to recall any, at the moment. Most of the ones I've encountered recently were in LNs, and those kinda' blur together some most days. Still, definitely a non-negligibly existent thing. Think I actually see it relatively often particularly among wuxia patterned stuff -- it's a possible characteristic of cunning-styled character archetypes.

Hey, you can always substitute water or something. Still gets you plenty sick plenty quick.

... you can't really keep up with a political debate, though. Not with water. I tried it, once. It... didn't go great. And that was with a ruleset that would ping significantly less than anything suggested so far.

I'm mostly just wondering if there actually is an uptick in alcohol poisoning on the day(s) of the debate(s), m'self. That would be an interesting statistic to track.

It was even if it wasn't, MSH. That's how these things work.

Checking a bit, now. Soul contract, imp familiar, black heart, heart of life, lifelong protection. Seems to be all the blood items that ignore forging bonuses. Oddly enough, the protection of geryon doesn't. So much for a pattern :V

Nope.

Does seem like there may be a couple specific blood items that do, though, double checking things a bit. Folks seem to think soul contracts are exempt, maybe imp familiars, too. Can check real quick, I guess... mod inspector doesn't seem to mention anything that'd be causing it.

E: Yeah, tested. Discounts work on most things, but it doesn't work on some. Imp familiars and soul contracts are definitely exceptions. Can't seem to find any easy reference for exactly what doesn't take, though.

Someone covered that earlier in this thread.  The media would fawn over how he goes to any lengths to help the american farmer.
That makes me think of Jimmy Carter though somehow, not Trump.
I'unno, carter would probably have actually tried to help the american farmer, followed by the media taking a dump on him. Trump's more like a reversal of that.

"Science, Technology and Finance" is a poor choice of wording on my part, I'm just stuck for what to call it. Office work? Business work? Well that one just sounds stupid since all work is business work by definition. Not-mass-production-where-you-sit-on-a-production-line work? Skilled work? Help me out here.
Service industry, service economy. Is what it's called, last I paid attention. It's a pretty broad thing, (very) roughly "everything that's not manufacturing or resource extraction", but it's what's been used fairly broadly to describe the results of a transition from an industrial economy to post-industrial one.

Probably not, really. I'd wager a tailored disease of some sort would be its best resource/results outcome. Maybe some targeted bunker buster type stuff for folks that notice and manage to do something about it.

Part of me thinks a death ouija board may be the better option when compared to a panel comprised to any degree by insurance experts. At least the former involves them having to make some uncomfortable/UST-charged hand touching.

That's literally the basis of website policy. It's the same reason why you can't post hardcore pornography on Bay12forum. The idea is that in the end free speech only matters in neutral grounds and a site or corporation with its own medium can do whatever the hell it wants.
Yeah, pretty much. Free speech is only really applicable to public spaces, so far as legality goes. Pretty sure things are for the better for it, too. Folks need places to talk but they also need places they can tell other folks to stfu.

As for the agreement itself, that's the EULA or ToS or whatever. Contracts can be formed without explicit agreement pretty easily (you make one each and every time you buy anything from any place of business, ferex, even if it's just dropping some change for a stick of gum or somethin'), and those are an example thereof. Though there has been some pushback on that subject, at least vis a vis online, in the last few years, iirc. EU's cookie stuff, ferex, and some of the legal rulings regarding said EULAs.

Clearly the answer is a split screen movie that has all the routes playing out at once. Maybe you get special headphones to listen to your preferred version, maybe it's just glorious cacophony.

Huh. Had never heard of that, now that I look it up. Which makes sense considering it's a localized superstition and significantly more bupkis than anything. With what possibly isn't notably dubious.

Also it's taking its sweet time in killing me. I've spent literal years worth of time in an enclosed room with low/no ventilation and a fan going, at this point (beyond air circulation, it's helped keep my computers from igniting), and unless I've become a disturbingly alive technoghost somewhere along the lines I'm pretty sure it's not happening.
