Curses / Re: CCS Backer List is Conservatively Overpowered
« on: October 20, 2012, 05:08:19 am »
Idk, I think the game should represent something like a real insurgency. Dragging up dirt on an insurgency movement, like the CSS might hurt them or their popularity, but it would not kill them, anymore then having some hippies in the LCS arrested and telling everything.

I think it should keep them quiet for a little while, 1 year sounds good, the first time it is done, that's it. Additional revelations should have diminished returns.

Actually, the LCS is the insurgency, while the CCS is government-sponsored counter-insurgency.  So once the CCS is exposed as a CIA plot, they're dismantled to avoid further loss of face.

Yeah, but it all depends on popular support for such actions. The yokels, rubes and rednecks that supported the CCS would really care less if the organization was a CIA plot. It might even grant their popular movement legitimacy, being such a bad-ass american thing as it is. Revealing the CCS as a CIA action would shock and offend many folks, but not enough to kill the core of the movement.

Also, the CIA is adept at turning failures into victories, they'd blame the CCS thing on some 'rouge agents' imprison a few as scape-goats and then just wait till it faded from memory to do the same thing over again.

DF Suggestions / Re: Jungle Gyms

IRL, a stubby dwarf soldier wearing 32 articles of clothing and full steel plate carrying a steel weapon and shield would have basically no chance ever of climbing up a rough cavern wall or up a tree.

Maybe they could climb a ladder but definitely not a rope, let alone a cliff face or something.
Ladder would fall and crush them, too fat.

I've seen really fat guys carrying heavy stuff climb up ladders... very slowly, but it's impossible. Admittedly, very sturdy ladders.

I seriously cannot believe people are this fucking disrespectful to the president. People didn't like Bush, but this shit against Obama is something unprecedented.

ffs, if they don't have respect for the man, they should have respect for the office. They are slandering the commander-in-chief of the USA with some invented conspiracy theory bullshit that holds zero credibility. Some of this shit is bordering on straight-up sedition or treason.

Curses / Re: M249 accuracy
« on: October 20, 2012, 04:37:31 am »
M60 is obsolete in the USA, but there is the M240B.

Thing about the M240 and the M60 is that they are too bulky, front heavy and unwieldy to shoulder and fire. You have to set it on the ground and lay down behind it, or shoot from the hip.

With an M249, you can stand up and bring it to your shoulder and look down the sights and shoot (sorta) accurately. You can't do that with a M240B or M60 or any machinegun like it, they are designed to be fired from the prone and that sort of combat is outside the scope of LCS.

Wow, most I had was 96 and that's on a work related account I don't delete for record keeping reasons. Ya'll signing up for spam mail or something in exchange for doing surveys or something?

Nah I'm pretty sure China hates gay sex too, for its lack of reproductiveness o_O

Scary how much China's backwards ideals are frighteningly similar to the old hardcore prudish ideals the US had (and in some ways still has) to this day.

Are you joking? China's government has a serious, nearly unethical obsession with reducing their population. They mandated the goddamn 'one child rule' ffs. No other country in the world does that. For all of China's government policies, they have equal rights for men and women, it's nothing at all like the USA in it's history.

It's bigoted to condemn them, they have been victims of colonialism and imperialists who've robbed them of everything, they cast out their white imperialist oppressors and have started from square one trying to recover everything that was taken from them.

DF General Discussion / Re: What a bone sword might look like
« on: October 20, 2012, 04:07:52 am »
I imagine he lightly kicked an officer in a head unintentionally while flailing about, belligerently, while he was struggling and being pinned down and handcuffed. He was probably drunk. I don't think he did a real purposeful crazy kung-fu flying kick on the cop or anything.

Anyways, I like the cop-kicker's sword. I think a DF bone sword would be more like that then a solid blade. Bone isn't dense or strong enough to produce a cutting edge. It would be more like the 'Macuahuitl' sword of the Aztec, with sharped bone in a serrated pattern embedded in a length of wood or whatever. More a club with sharp bits in it, like a 2x4 with nails in it, basically.

DF General Discussion / Re: Playing DF for Charity?
« on: October 20, 2012, 03:59:30 am »
I think almost all videogames involve killing, typically in very cheap, callous and casual manners.

I don't think the horrors in DF are too much for charity, because unlike mainstream games, DF is classy as fuck.
