My first name is 'Disaster' ...
My last name is 'The best' (hell yea)
My full name is 'Escaped Prisoner'

Oh please. Calling it a "ton+ pile of metal propelled by explosions" just makes it sound cooler than it really is; a very well-engineered form of metal, plastic, glass, and modern composites that turns chemical energy into kinetic energy. You completely ignore the numerous safety features built into each vehicle to insure that any accidents do as little damage to people as possible. Mechanical failures only account for around 13% of accidents, and most of those are due to poor or no maintenance rather than the vehicles being rolling death traps. The rest of your post is wild over-exaggeration.

Oh, and thanks for implying that I am a "monster". I drive probably an hour almost every day out of necessity, and I love every minute.
Yeah... now imagine a medical procedure that only has an 87% success rate. Maybe you can make it 95%! That's still pretty bad odds when you're dealing with someone's life.
It's not 13% chance of accident each time you use your car. It's more like an operation that has a 99% success rate, and 13% of the failure are due to the scalpel broking.

General Discussion / Re: Minimum Wage

But if every country had the same minimum wage, it would do nothing.
Well, yes, it would prevent anyone to get a lower than the minimum wage  :D

Though, generally, an increase of wage benefits the economy (and everyone).

Some interesting changes.

And there won't be Njerk war camps in the west and north now, only in the east.

Thank you, that helps a lot, I didn't really managed the skills before, letting them to the default. I guess focusing on a skill is better.

I just managed a game further than usual, but got killed by an hill giant while resting. Damn, I had hope for this character.

Could I get more insight on what the skills does ? I think I understand what most do. Magic, evoke, invoke reduce the failure %. Weapon mainly reduce the delay. What does fighting do ? Armor/dodging, should I focus on one in particular ? Is there particular limit after what a skill isn't interesting anymore (other than weapon) ?

If I had  $20,000,000, I'd put it in this project right now.
Just to prove them wrong  :P ?

I downloaded the demo. I wish there wasn't 4,000 key combinations.
You can play it with mouse too. There's few keys that are really usefull (e, s, M).

Also, the wiki isn't really up-to-date, I think most things date from the version before 3.15 (current).

Nope, Sauron participated in the creation of all the rings, except the three, which were created by Celebrimbor alone.

1270
He does. But it's useless now that the One Ring is destroyed.
Uh, no. Sauron didn't created the 3. The only link between the One and the Three was that he could have influenced the thoughts of people using the Three.

Doing between x and y in a range of damage isn't really the same as doing no damage whatsoever, particularly in sneak attack situations.

Except for sneak attack, it's exactly the same. The results are determined by RNG, based of the values of weapon skill, block/armour (block doesn't work the same way though), and weapon in both cases. The frustration in Morrowind comes that the game didn't explained you why : "Hey there, you slipped on that rock and failed that sword attack", and just bluntly said you "Miss".

If we're going by realism standards, why does my gun get more accurate as my gun skill goes up? Is it that I learn to compensate for misaligned sights? Why not just be able to adjust the sights then, and if that's the case wouldn't that be better off as part of the repair skill?
It's your character's evolution. Would you shoot as easily a target the first time you wield a gun than after years of training ?

Ok, I think I got it. So, 2 points in a skill reduce the delay by 1 unit, and the minimum is either half of the base delay, or 7.

So, if I make a fighter (I'm not in complex stuff already), I should focus on my weapon skill to reach that delay ?

The problem is that in Morrowind you were screwed by the RNG. There are limits to how accurately you can aim a weapon in game, and misses do happen based solely on the failure of the player. It really depends on how much player input you want to have, I play ARPGs because I enjoy player input. I like tactics and strategy well enough, but I also like action and reflexes and I certainly prefer that experience in an RPG setting (with a good story, developed characters, and ability to actually role-play) to the one in your typical action game.
But there's always RNG. Random damage instead of random miss, but it's still there. It's not player input only (that would be stupid).  Morrowind didn't hide it (and it would have been better if they had, like making an animation for failed attack, or something like that).

Yea, it's interesting to see how people saw that. Though maybe bear (and such) should be focused on the human near rather than continue to eat.

Also, someone dedicate himself for the next thread ? I could do it, but I wouldn't deprive someone of making the new thread  :P
