Osiro shrugs.
"Well, I suppose this is one way of completing a mission. Sloppy, though...it'll make our job easier in any case, though."
He pokes the edge of his guisarme against the rope and begins to saw.
Action: Cut the rope!
It takes you a bit, but soon the rope is cut through. As it falls down, you see the light recede a short way, a great crash, and finally, the light disappears.
Ava sets of down the stairs, trailed by Culpa, Ari, Ithy, and possibly Osirio ((Did you intend for him to head down the stairs as well?)). After a time of walking, you come to the bottom. Arias and his escorts appear to have left already. A large, sturdy looking wooden platform is broken, with loose rope hanging off of it; the elevator, no doubt. The walls here seem much more natural than the sheer walls on the sides of the pit.
A tunnel is dug into the side of the stairs, evidently done by pick. A trail of blood leads from the broken platform to the other end of the tunnel, which leads to a large natural cavern. Through it, you see a man befitting Arias's description, along with three knights (You can't tell if they're flesh or clockwork from here). Arais holds a lantern aloft, and is walking with a limp. In addition, he's evidently the source of the blood, with a deep looking wound in his arm. The group doesn't stand terribly far away, but they are on the other side of a large chasm (How deep does this place run? How deep are you right now, for that matter?), crossed by a sturdy wooden bridge. A gentle breeze flows from the chasm; oddly, it alternates directions. It will flow outwards from the ravine for a number of seconds, before tapering off, and a new wind flows into it.
Farther into the cave, you see some of the blueish fungi from your encounter with the kobolds, though it numbers far fewer than it did there. Arias and his guardians don't seem to have noticed you quite yet.
