It makes sense, if she governs intel/espionage like we suspect she does. All we really know is she probably deals in codes, can teleport, and has a gun capable of one-shotting Rilbots.

We aren't using it to get to Riltia because we need to visit it first (for now??), and because we'd be made into a fine mist if she decides to attack us

Vanessa decided to try something a bit more ambitious. She felt the light twist and bend, forming humanoid shapes before coalescing into soldiers, in Austrian uniform. The illusory regiment marched along, intangible but nevertheless an intimidating sight. Though their rifles couldn't harm the enemy, they'd serve as a distraction and intimidating factor.

With names I generally end up putting in "Hahaha" and "No" as first and last respectively.

Vanessa, inspired strangely by the spiral that Friedrick had constructed, was lost in a trance of sort. The color, repetitiveness...Everything about it brought something forth. She dreamed of light and energy, bending it, curving around space, pulled and contorted. She wondered. Holding her hand up to her face, the light began to bend and twist, like a heat mirage, confirming her thoughts. She shifted the hue, from red to orange to yellow, spanning the rainbow before she recalls something she remembered reading about once, half-asleep, that energy was merely matter in another form. Or something like that.

As the ball of contorting light shifted and spun, she began to change it, making materials; metal and cloth and smoke and wood, all there but immaterial, fading the moment her full attention wasn't on it, disintegrating at the slightest touch. But...It seemed to tend towards a shape. Like the forces she were balancing and unnaturally contorting tended towards a given state.

She closed her eyes, and let the light do as it would, releasing a brilliant glow of light in countless, ever-shifting colors, before finally subsiding as the light turned to cloth, draped over her in an elegant and cosmic dress. A twirl and a coy smile.

"Well, that was rather dramatic."

She ran her hands over her dress. It didn't disappate like the orb had earlier, but held firm. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she felt it tugging on her focus slightly, but it was negligible, on autopilot, like the simple act of bending light in the first place. Only a mote of concentration to keep it in shape. And to add a touch of flair, she added mentally.

Vanessa speaks with a light Austrian accent, choosing her words deliberately and slowly.
"My name is Vanessa. I trust we'll get along well.
She punctuates this with a polite curtsy, before making her way to the VR machine as well, activating it.
It occurs to me not everyone is using the Darkling theme; is this font readable to you guys that use the default?
"Jeese, I don' see what everyone is running off for. This 'Vee Arr" thing ain't the most important thing Miss Purity-chan talked about. Ain't the most interesting thing neither. Some of 'em don't either bother greeting themselves. How rude!"

Brenda leans against the nearest lean-onable object and examines whoever is left.

"So any of y'all know whats goin' on round here? I'm more interested in that whole Earth-is-getting-shot-at thing than some dumb old machine, and I'd like some answers."
"Now, madame...Erm, well, madame, I'm sure Purity wouldn't...Er, Purity-Chan wouldn't simply abandon us to the whims of the machine. I trust we'll get a further explanation while investigating this 'VR'."

If we succeed in deluding ourselves into believing that we have won, then we have won! As far as we know.
Today's SMBC seems oddly fitting.

Not sure where you're getting salt from...Fact is I've got my hands full juggling exams, band practice, programming, reading, and a relationship at the moment, so I really don't have time for this. And, frankly, if this is even vaguely representative of Mafia as a whole...This really, really was not fun.

I've contacted Saber about dropping out if this game goes for longer than a day, since it seems like interest has waned quickly and the issue of the game is quickly getting solved. And, frankly, I'm really really sick of all the bullshit this game has entailed. My decision to experiment with Mafia was a mistake.
