      Alright, loredump time.

As you might have guessed, all the lords have different powers and theme (For the sake of simplicity I'll be referring to them by their masks, because their actual personas are malleable).

      • The mask of law is paladin-like, using smiting and self-powering buffs to make their melee attacks more powerful.
      • The mask of chaos is more like a wizard, enabling them to cast powerful spells, mostly based around debuffing opponents, but is also capable in direct combat.
      • The mask of war has very little in the way of actual magic, and instead is simply extraordinarily strong in many forms of combat and tactics, but has very little skill in the way of long-term strategy.
      • The mask of the owl (The one with an eye) is a strategist; weak in combat, but knowledgeable, quick, stealthy, and capable of incredible feats of divination.
      • The mask of fire is...Guess. Skilled with directly damaging magic. Despite the reputation of fire, it's actually rather clever, preferring to act suddenly and quickly.
      • The mask of ice is specialized heavily with a spear and shield, preferring to soften enemies with minions before enacting the coup de grace. Uses little magic, but when it does, generally obscures sight and uses AoE clouds.
      • The rosen mask is compassionate and capable of healing even fatal wounds. This mask was not seen during the game; I'll get to it shortly.
      • The king's mask is again a noncombatative one, instead being seductive and silver-tongued. It was the original mask; all further ones are vestiges of it.

So, what's with the king and rosen mask? Well, you'd only actually met six of the seven lords: the one with the blank mask was in fact the king. The seventh, the rose, was dead, and their mask held deep in the caverns, protected by various deadly traps, monsters, and illusions. It was slain by the other lords because the rose didn't want to bring about the apocalypse, as the others did; instead, it turned against the other lords, and was destroyed as it was a threat to their plan.

The king mask was the first to be made, carved of solid silver by a skilled artificer. Initially, the plan was to allow it a mind of its own to aid the wearer in matters of royalty, commissioned by a powerful baron. However, this failed; it grew too powerful, and too evil, and betrayed its liege. The mask, still controlling the now mindless body of the baron, sought to destroy the world and all therein, to remake it with itself as a god. Presumably, with the campaign ending as abruptly as it is, this was successful and happened a little ahead of schedule.

The king mask effectively split itself into seven more pieces (Not physically of course; it's still whole, just with pieces of it's 'soul' spread about). These were presented to powerful figures throughout Nazerian history by the mask, wearing the long, flowing, concealing robe that the lords came to be known by. They too turned against their bearers, and soon the king's army was formed, each powerful and skilled in their areas. Of course, though the mask greatly extends longevity, they aren't immortal; various wearers have died and new individuals have worn the mask, hence why I refer to them by the mask, rather than name.

The campaign likely will have ended in one of three ways: The players would free the demon sought after by the Rebels and with its aid, destroy the lords. The demon would still rule over the world, but at least the world would still be around. Alternatively, the players would mange to slay both the lords and the demon. This would be by far the most difficult ending to achieve, but also the 'golden' ending. Finally, the players may have found the rosen mask, worn it, and used the power of it to fight back against the lords. However, over time, the rosen mask would continue to grow crueler, and eventually would reform into a semblance of the king mask, merely delaying things. Naturally, the campaign could have gone other ways, but these were merely the routes I'd meaningfully planned for.

Also, though it never came up in this thread, I was intending for one of Immaterial's vestiges to actually be the ex-rosen mask, guiding the party towards the place where it's held.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

That might backfire. We lose control of characters we aren't in the perspective of--who's to say that our standing order to swap back won't be immediately forgotten once we get to Riltia?

Also, it'll probably be like the rest of the non-allied siblings; static'd out and inaccessible. Still, at the very least it might be worth taking a look at the influx's menu.

Also also, if the Influx is so powerful and important...Why did Ril steal the Exchange instead? I think we might be overselling it a little...

Honestly. Good grits are delicious, and well-made biscuits & gravy are the same. Just because they look like sick doesn't mean they're supposed to taste that way.
I agree about biscuits and gravy but I still maintain grits are bad even when good.

Note, if you guys DO vote in favor of continuing...It'll likely be a very long time, potentially never. Leaving aside school I'm also doing a number of other projects that, to be honest, I'm more invested and interested in at this point.

Okay so it's pretty obvious that this is pretty much dead. There's two ways we can go about this:
1. Hope that somehow I'll have time to continue this
2. Find someone else to run the game
3. Have me explain this fever-dream of a plot and call it dead for good.

Like babies! See, that's why the Chinese were right all along. Child chow mein, anyone?
Child mein, you could say.
*snrk*

I love you.
oi m90 back off

In more terrifying news I heard a kid argue, completely seriously and without a trace of irony, that we should kill everyone in Syria (including non-combatants) because "that's how you win a war quickly and efficiently."

I'm just going to sneak this unfinished thing here.
Well damn. I'm working on something similar and that's infinitely better than mine :P

Hey so here's a thought. We've been kind of assuming that Over and Out is the theme of the Eye or Voice (or at least I have), but in light of her betrayal, yandere-ness, and odd connections to the LS and Oric, what if it belongs to Riltia? The weird, doubly layered statements, scrambled tone, the fact that it's marked as the theme of ??? (And Cain's monitor labeled the hexagon-symboled Sibling as ???), there's an awful lot that ties her to us.

Also have we gotten any confirmation that Floe/Auntie is actually the Eye? Given that Riltia's been spying on us and may be as much as a quadruple agent, she seems like a like a solid candidate for Eye-hood if not

Let's not abandon the quest.

And fighting ril now is likely a bad idea. She is the boss of dl7 I find it quite likely that when she fights us she will unleash her full power and show to be stronger than she was in our party.

She might go one winged angel.
Also this. Even if Riltia doesn't kill us, Oric will probably be pissed at our sequence breaking and killing outside of boss room; there's a decent chance at least one of our party members would go the route of Kit Kat if we did.

Just read up on the newest happenings. I see the time spent in Monkmode hasn't taught you to be less cruel to your players, FFS :P
So. As for Riltia...Fuck. I'm at a loss for what to do about her, save that Al and Proxxy probably know something about what just happened. Ask Al and Proxxy in turn if they know anything about her betrayal, or what she means by Al being a threat to the cycles.
I expect we won't learn much but it's worth a shot.

This can only be solved by a practical experiment. We must capture cinder and substitute enough of his bodyweight for pure ethanol.

Then we all drink him, because ehh, it would be a waste not to :v
pls dont drink my boyfriend

or at least make him into something high-class like wine

Just as a general, vague thing... I think I'm finally kind of content with where my life is heading. My grades are up, my chances of getting into a good college look good, I've found new friends, and I've finally met someone (They're on Bay12 too but I don't know if they want it to really be a public thing)!

So... I dunno. I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for putting up with me. I'm not always the most reliable or tactful, but you guys have kept me sane in spite of that.

Kind of a happy/sad mix. On the happy side, I caught up on Steven Universe! On the sad side, now I have no more Steven Universe to watch  :'(

I think we've lost images from the past.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
hey guys just finished my readthrough
fixed the images inside spoiler. just view image > change image name in the url to fix the broken images
they should probably be edited in the original posts after being reuploaded to imgur, seeing as the postimg images are the only broken ones.

also, got a couple of theories of my own, which i'll talk about in a bigger post later
the main thing you guys seem to be missing is that riltia's sin is envy. she's jealous of the rest of the party and isn't likely to give up her chance to be the AI-selected character so easily. she's even jealous of ciro praising goombess!

riltia is nearly always put down/insulted, even by ffs in meta, (remember him saying she was the least interesting character a while back?)
dunno why some of you were thinking the soul stars were corrupted. why not have us, the spirits, compliment her battle prowess or something instead of questioning her every action. if she feels equal in value to the rest of the party, maybe she'll cut the delusions.
Envy is a potential thing, but FFS has stated that the characters aren't intended to correspond to any one Deadly Sin; he tried to set them up according to them at some point but couldn't quite make it work. So...It's unlikely by word of god. By saying that I'm probably guaranteeing it but hey.

As for corruption...This was Riltia's soul star while we were trying to restore her to, well, Riltia.

We've since determined Willbirth is something that can happen to non-Riltia entities, but keep in mind that this particular case was caused somehow artificially by !!!! and/or ????. It's not unreasonable to suspect her star might still be damaged.

I had nothing to do at work, and I ended up doing a little doodle of a character I had for a game that ran once on these forums.
I've not drawn freehand in a long time - I've only really done pixel art for the past year.

Not too bad, I'd say, for a silly little doodle.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

She was going to have a braided ponytail but I forgot. The thing she's holding is her rather oversized hammer, which mashed pretty much everything they came across.
Oh shid Aretrian fanart. As an aside...Not saying it's dead but I've been completely swamped so if it continues, it won't be soon
