Noticing the darkness, you decide to head back. When you reach the cave, you decide to get a barricade set up, and get to work. While you are collecting materials, you notice a willow. Taking more branches, you decide to set up a few more snares to stop any creatures looking for a bite of.... Well, you don't remember you name. But that's not important. When you get inside, stepping carefully around the snares, you look at the map more closely. It looks like the map used to be very well drawn, but it's smudged and faded. Aside from the city (Which is called Norik(OOC: I just made that city up.)), the forest, and the cave, all you can make out is the Eldritch Cave. You then decide to get some sleep

Inventory: Geiger counter, compass, crudely drawn map, small butcher knife, small pistol (10/10 clip, 20 spare, .9mm bullets)
Hunger: 16/20
Thirst 17/20
Irradiation: None
Assets: Three snares in the Origin Forest, Two snares in front of as-of-yet unnamed cave.

OOC: For the record, you're not auto-checking the snares. You have to put that in a post.

A quick note on night: After the bombs exploded, the animals that survived were trapped in the fallout, and the debris clouded all sunlight. This made them adjust to nocturnal habits, meaning that at night, more cthulu-rabbits are present. Also, zombies, being mindless, do not really care about the time. As long as they can move and reach you, they will eat you.

Pardner, there can be only one fear summoning douchebag in this town, and guess which one of us is the God.
Actually, I'm not really "fear-summoning", I can make people see things that force them to do things. For example, when I "summoned" the demons, I didn't cast fear; the demons made him fearful. I could have summoned unicorns instead, but that wouldn't have an effect, except maybe entrance him.

You attempt to practice singing until the snares get something, but you quickly realize that singing is just scaring the animals off. You decide to pick up all the supplies in the cave. When you looked at the map, you can see that whoever the original owner was, they knew a lot of rather... odd places. For example, he's found a cave that is on no official map that he has labeled "The Eldritch Cave" You head out to the city, and notice that the light is growing dim. You are just on the outskirts of the city, when you get the idea to practice necromancy. However, you have nothing to study from, nor can the hollow log you wanted to resurrect for some reason do anything.

Lornith Kios used to be a commoner and an orphan, a simple man in the kingdom of Kolak. However, the king was unjust, punishing the peasants with death for petty mistakes. He found a spell caster they called "The Nightmare", due to his abilities to summon peoples worst fears into being. He studied under him, and when he felt he had the power, he set off to the castle. He charmed one palace guard into believing that his fellow guards were all demons, and his only chance of survival was to murder the man guarding the gatehouse and flee. He proceeded further inside, killing more guards in similar ways. When he reached the final chamber, he forced the mind of two guards that the others were assassins come to kill the king. Once the melee was finished, he turned to the king, who was deathly pale. "Who...who are you!?", he stammered, fear flowing through him. He replied to him, "An official of Death. And sir, your taxes are long over due." With that, he bewitched him to believe that he was choking to death, causing him to stop breathing and slip into death. Now, he has fled to Rothinea, and has taken up a code of honor: He will never harm those that have helped him.

As far as my sphere is, it would be illusions and trickery. For alignment, chaotic good.

You decide to try and look around the forest, for fresh water. About two minutes in, you decide to try to eat some dirt. Taking a handful, you put it in your mouth. However, it does not actually fill you. If anything, you feel hungrier! (-1 hunger) You do not manage to find a source of water, so you decide to head back, but not before an idea comes to you: Making snares. You remember watching a T.V. show where they showed you how to make a snare from willow branches-Jeff Corgin, or something like that-and you grab some branches from a nearby willow tree. You fashion three snares in the general area. You consider making a pitfall, but dismiss this idea due to a lack of an ax to get a log or rope to tie it with. As you wander around, you think of a name for this place: Origin Forest, since this is where you started.

Fakeedit: Because nobody decided to grab it. If you mean why it's in the cave in the first place, you took it there with you.

Excuse me if this makes me sound like a moron, but are applications open right now? If so, I would like to join:

Lornith Kios, the Charmer (A kind of character I just made up; uses illusions to get foes to fight for him and get his way).
About average height, with bright green eyes. He wears leather robes of multiple colors, such as blue, red, green, cyan, and purple. He carries a staff with a small gem at the top with multiple iridescent lights glowing inside it.

Sorry if my character is a little OP. I will be willing to change a few details, if you want me to.

I hate to do this, but bump.

War has come, and it has wiped out all else. Cities were torched, nuclear explosives were detonated. Now, all that's left is a few scraps of heavily-mutated wildlife, and you. There might be humans somewhere, but you cannot say where. On top of this, some have found the secrets of necromancy, only to create a plague of zombies. You are alone in a small cave you found. The mouth of the cave is about ten feet away. It rests inside of a small hill, which overlooks a forest that you have not explored. Behind you is a city, swarming with supplies and food, as well as zombies. The cave goes back about 30 feet before coming to a dead end. In the cave, you have a compass, a crudely drawn map, a Geiger counter, a small butcher knife, and a small pistol of a kind you are not sure of, but takes .9mm bullets and holds ten at a time. You have it fully loaded, as well as having 20 more bullets. It is powerful enough to cause serious damage to an enemy, but finding more ammo is going to be tough, outside of a city.
