Gods should be in there right from the World Gen, if you look at their relationships page it should tell you who they worship.

I'm a newb, what 3d? You mean the addition of z-levels? I came recently, after the z-levels were added, was it a big deal?
It changed the game entirely, it removed seasonal floods, and it removed the guarantee of the magma, river, chasms, the HIDDEN FUN STUFF, and a whole load of other things
