I can run the latest version of DF from the Bay12 website but the lazy newb pack crashes every time I try to launch. A black window pops up and then vanishes.   Is there a setting I need to adjust? I've never had a problem with the lazy newb packs but It's been a year or two since I played.


Ok, it seems to have something to do with the texture pack. If I run lazy newb with the ASCII pack it will launch. If I install Phobus it crashes.

Edit:
I installed the newest version of DF from the website that comes with ironhand pre-installed and that works just fine.  Not sure what the issue is with the Lazy Newb Pack and my setup?

Ok I got it, looks like I had the dwarven and human fort options selected.  I restarted with only the human fort option selected and have the correct buildings now.

Aloha,

I have been trying to get a human game going, and once I thought I had it figured out I had a human embark but none of the special workshops.

How do you actually select the human race? I allowed human forts on the Civilizations tab in the Masterwork Launcher. And once I chose an embark location I had "Human Start" options so I thought I was successful only to find I had only dwarven building options.

Once you enable human forts in the settings,  where do you actually choose to be human?

Hi there,

I checked the OP to see if there were any instructions on how to use these seeds,  but I didn't see anything there.

I understand that you can go into advance parameters to type in the seed code line, but is that all you need to do?  Do I need to go through each line of the world gen file and try and enter in the information on my parameters?

Fixed it,

Had something to do with my burrow which didn't include the coke (doh).  Even though no one was assigned to the burrow, for some reason they still wouldn't get the coke (but they would get other items just fine... weird)

Aloha,

I have a stockpile with a few bins of coke, and am attempting to smelt lignite into more coke. For some reason, every item in the smelter list is red.  I don't have the stockpile linked to a specific area or anything.  None of the bins or coke are forbidden.

To fix this I've tried:
Deleting the stockpile and re-designating it
Removing the smelters and re-placing them


Anyone have any ideas?
