DF Gameplay Questions / World Generation

I don't know where to put this. Does anyone a world gen perimeter that would give me 1 central land mass with a desert in the middle and sporadic but not rare forests?

DF Gameplay Questions / Trying to make Wood Chute

So I made a chute so my surface dwarves can toss the wood down it. But nothing I do seems to have the dwarves dumping them. I've tried turning off all activities and then turning them on, and even forbidding everything but the wood but the dwarves rather die of thirst and starvation that dump the wood.

DF Suggestions / Favorite Food/Drink

Simple suggestion, a tag for creature's that allows them to have favorite food/drink, this can either be a random favorite food or a chosen food.

i.e.

[DESCRIPTION:A short, sturdy creature fond of drink and industry.]
[NAME:dwarf:dwarves:dwarven]
[CASTE_NAME:dwarf:dwarves:dwarven]
[FAV_FOOD:RAND] #Will make each dwarf have 1 random entity appropriate food, i.e. Plump Helmets
[FAV_DRINK:RAND] #Will make each dwarf have 1 random entity appropriate food, i.e. Dwarf Wine.

The food  and drinks will be appropriate for the entity, i.e. if the entity allows the eating of sentient then the creatures can have favorite food for other sentient, which if a rule has a favorite food of dwarf flesh then the ruler may declare a War to obtain said dwarf flesh.

In non-sentient/entity creatures, the creature will be more likely to attack their favorite food, while ignoring others.

i.e.

[DESCRIPTION:A gigantic reptilian creature.  It is magical and can breathe fire.  These monsters can live for thousands of years.]

[CASTE_NAME:dragon:dragons:draconic]
[FAV_FOOD:DWARF]

Will mean the dragon will be more likely to attack a mountain home and ignore the knife-ears.

When I get bored and am to depressed to play dwarf fortress I tend to tinker around with DF creatures. I lost all of my creatures creatures shortly before 40 do my harddrive shattering. SO I'm uploading some of my creatures. The animals are divided into separate files based on the theme when I made them.

DF Modding / Centaur Leg Problems

So I'm making a bunch of centaurs. I keep getting this error. I've got no clue why they suddenly lose their throats and necks and why suddenly their leg thickness vanishes. Note: the centaur file is a alpha, haven't touched anything other than body and tissue.

Ok wild idea....a setting, in the inti folder, that will allow you to change the range of a necromancers, i.e. seeting to 100 will allow it to besiege any fortress within 100 squares.

DF Gameplay Questions / Dingos Worst Than Cats

So I made dingos tamable+trainable, with the idea of having a bunch of war dingos....well 2 generations later I have 30 dingos and a 50 FPS (starting with 2F and 1M.... Mean while my 2F and 1M cat only have produced 10 Kittens again after 2 generations and no slaughtering. So it seems dingos reproduce more than cats.

So I just got an announcement for autumn and I just realized......I never got my first migrant wave. My civilization seems to still be alive, It has a queen, diplomat, and etc, not on site.

DF Modding / (WIP) Post-apocalypse overhaul

Not sure where to put WIP mods, started a Post-apocalypse mod ages ago, then dropped it for a Last of Us mod, gave up on modding after my external harddrive got tired of NOT breaking when I drop it, lost both mods. SO since I can't play my favorite worlds, large, at all right now I've decided to pick through my old chemistry notes doodles and restart my mod till I can play DF without a 30fps

Story:
It has been centuries since the frozen age ended, as to what ended it depends on what lands you are from. The wolflanders claim it was when god grew tired of the excess and sins of the old world, it was then that he spared only the most morale and innocent among the rotten world. The eaglelanders claim it is when the bearlands grew tired of siting behind their wall and chose to wipe away what they could not take. The bearlanders say it was a star that fell from the skies and plunged the world in fire then ash. All that is known is it is now our time to reclaim the lands that belong to our forefathers and we shall rise from the back of the world that has sheltered us for all these years.

Factions:
The Reclamation (Reclaimer): The default playable faction. A militaristic society after centuries sheltered within mountain vaults these  humans have set out into the world to remove the weak and mutated and rebuild a stable modern society whether that is by the rifle or the pen.

The Northlands (Northerner): Of all the lands hit it was the already frozen northlands, the so called bearlands, that suffered the hardest. Over night many ancient cities become unlivable ice caked landmarks. These men and women are hearty and have become skilled at breaking the will of even the most wild of animals.

The Wasteland (Wastelander): Hailing from the land of the eagle, do to their sigil, these people have a strong belief of you are worth has hard as you work. While not as militaristic as the other lands, what they lack in military they make up in stubbornness.

The Wolfland (Wolf): Hailing from the temperate regions the Wolves are a feudalistic society that is rabidly militaristic. Despite their archaic system, feudalism, they hold many wonders including the most advanced armorments of the old world, power armor.

The Plague Children (Cultists): While typically fighting the Wolflanders they are seek to spread the will of their plague father through out the lands, any who dare stand in their way shall fester and die.

Raider Clans (Raiders): Humans that have abandoned the trappings of civilization and have devoted their lives to looting and pillaging.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Morale and badassery

I'm wondering what are your experience with the new morale center.

Ok so I have the flying manimals (sparrow me) stuck in the air so I built a small shooting tower an mobilized my 'army' ,4 axemen (though only 2 have axes, and 1 mail shirt) and 3 crossbowmen (all with master crossbows and.....wooden bolts), So it seems they are pretty disciplined despite the fact they are utter noobs with NO training, other than the commander, who is adequate discipline and accomplished axeman. So far I've killed 3/7 and have only 1 morale break, with the crossbows, I've realized that apparently my manager is a Rambo with a crossbow, he received the first kill, well technically it was the ground since he just took the wing out. Even when his report said he was terrified he still stood there shooting at the sparrowman until he killed the last one. But the reactions are interesting.
"We are so fragile.....begone fear!"
"Death is all around us!"
"Has the tide turned?"

But now I've demobilized my military, but right before I did I noticed that they had red flashing arrows anyone know what it means.
