I'm not sure if this is the right place. I've been trying to make a medium map that is large landmass surrounded by 3 sided oceans. But I keep getting ones that have multiple inland oceans and 3 oceans surrounding it and most of the oceans are savage.

The DF v0.47.01+ Worldgen Cookbook Thread is where I'd look for tips on that.  Modifying both the rainfall and drainage settings should give you the desert and forest conditions you're looking for, and possibly elevation settings could get you 1 central land mass.  Most of my world generations are 99% contiguous, which makes me wonder: do you get a bunch of islands in yours?  Or are you looking for a more uniform shape of the land mass?

I get a large land mass with a large inland/surrounded ocean and then a number of smallish islands around the continent, Usually looks like a Y or U.

I don't know where to put this. Does anyone a world gen perimeter that would give me 1 central land mass with a desert in the middle and sporadic but not rare forests?

How is your chute set up? Are you using minecarts or dump zones?
I'm using a dump zone above the drop.
Outside Refuse Dumping allowed.

DF Gameplay Questions / Trying to make Wood Chute

So I made a chute so my surface dwarves can toss the wood down it. But nothing I do seems to have the dwarves dumping them. I've tried turning off all activities and then turning them on, and even forbidding everything but the wood but the dwarves rather die of thirst and starvation that dump the wood.

I'm trying to make it so that dryads have leaves for hair but I can't figure out how to get it to work. Or am I going have to make my own detail plan for 'leaf hair'? Also is there anyway to increase their survivability, I want them to be a threat to an unarmed dwarf, but so far they can be taken out by a very injured dwarf.

Simple suggestion, a tag for creature's that allows them to have favorite food/drink, this can either be a random favorite food or a chosen food.

i.e.

[DESCRIPTION:A short, sturdy creature fond of drink and industry.]
[NAME:dwarf:dwarves:dwarven]
[CASTE_NAME:dwarf:dwarves:dwarven]
[FAV_FOOD:RAND] #Will make each dwarf have 1 random entity appropriate food, i.e. Plump Helmets
[FAV_DRINK:RAND] #Will make each dwarf have 1 random entity appropriate food, i.e. Dwarf Wine.

The food  and drinks will be appropriate for the entity, i.e. if the entity allows the eating of sentient then the creatures can have favorite food for other sentient, which if a rule has a favorite food of dwarf flesh then the ruler may declare a War to obtain said dwarf flesh.

In non-sentient/entity creatures, the creature will be more likely to attack their favorite food, while ignoring others.

i.e.

[DESCRIPTION:A gigantic reptilian creature.  It is magical and can breathe fire.  These monsters can live for thousands of years.]

Try putting [RELIGION_SPHERE:DEATH] in other entities. The necromancers are just very devout followers of a DEATH deity, the more DEATH deities and civilizations that worship them the the more necromancers there are at least in 40.
