"What is better - to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?" - Paarthurnax

I would like to run five dedicated players through a campaign of UESRPG, an elaborate d100 system based in the setting of the Elder Scrolls franchise.
Use this character sheet and upload it on something such as Google Drive. We're starting with a medium power level, therefor you may begin with 2500 CrP.
If you have any lore questions, ask me and I'll decide; the campaign takes place in 4E 222, two decades after the events of TES V: Skyrim.
I'll have a poll up to determine various pieces of the setting.
Everybody will start separately, completing an individual quest which will unite everybody into a main quest.

Forum Games and Roleplaying / [IC] The League of E-Sports: QUICKSCOPE
« on: July 29, 2015, 03:56:22 pm »
The world has changed. After major E-Sport event The Internationals 2030, E-Sports became, for the first time, more watched than regular sports as team Cloud9 won the tournament and its massive winning prize. Decades later, Faze bought out Microsoft and Cloud9 bought the rights to Apple... the world has been dominated by E-Sports. World conflicts are now settled with a tournament of Call of Duty or Dota. Cybermania, a massive city created by multiple E-Sports companies such as Faze and Cloud9 as the capital of the world. Dominated by various factions of E-Sports teams such as Faze, Cloud9, Secret, Na'vi, and many others, this city was the hearth of the greatest invention known to E-Sports, the Oculus Abyss, a headband which enters the user within a VR world. This invention was big, and has been popular in the past decade.

Welcome to Cybermania, 2100.

You are in one of Faze's top squads, Squad g3t_pu55y; you are standing in the base of operations for your squad, a small little flat inside of the Faze Headquarters. You have a tournament starting in a few days, versus Cloud9, to settle a land dispute on the eastern edge of Cybermania. Your instructor told you to get on the OAs in a few hours to begin the daily training mission... but for now, you are in the same room with your squad-mates of questionable appearance. Real life sucks, sometimes.

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Rise of the Fingerlings IC: Ambush!
« on: June 23, 2015, 07:42:24 pm »

Lush leaves flowed above the serene Fingerling town of Jeaha, completely sheltered from the chaos happening around them. Lolgrammoth, a powerful god of the void, entrapped Northsdale in a dark bubble which isolated it from the mortal realm. The Fingerling people inhabiting Northsdale have no choice but to simple wait; they weren't affected as much as the human populace, for famine was not a problem to them. They simply continued with routine, as nothing monstrous or evil ever bothered the small town.
Until now.

BOOM
A colossal flare of green light exploded from the City Hall, followed by screams moving incoherently through the fall of green sparks. Darkness reigned over Jeaha as another explosion sounded from one of the homes in the Northwestern district, green light flaring through the night as a deep shaking sound resonated. The wooden buildings flamed in green fire, roaring and cackling as structure toppled down in plumes of smoke and dirt. From the chaos stood a tall figure, around the height of two Fingerlings; he wore mythril armor and the eyeholes glowed a light green hue as plumes of green light circled around him. He drew back his hand as a glowing green orb of condensed power formed into his palm; he threw it, deep power resonating as it struck a watchtower, causing it to explode and erupt in green light.
"What better laboratory than the bloodsoaked battlefield?" he roared and laughed, his voice deep and sinister, "What better chaos than the chaos of fire?"
He paced around the top of the flaming City Hall, standing on the single pillar of brick which the giant clock was mounted on. He gazed around, admiring his work.
"WHAT BETTER BLOOD SPILLED THAN THAT OF THE INNOCENT?"

Francine, Kyomi, and Tavros grouped by the City Hall, squinting at the figure as Chtz joined beside them along with other people- wait, no. Two figures. The destroyer of the buildings held by the collar a Fingerling woman wearing blue and white robes, unconscious. It was only when the green light falter did Francine truly see who the woman was.
It was Kiora Nahzlow, the town healer; Francine's mentor and guardian, the person whom she spent many years of her life with.
"This healer shall be an excellent sacrifice.. a pawn for the player, a trade for TRUE POWER! This woman's legacy shall end in five nights when the Sacred Sword spills her precious blood upon the altar during the Vigil of Targunitoth! True power for I, DOCTOR OBLIVION! You people will not stop me, you people hold no INDEFATIGABLE TENACITY TO SAVE YOUR OWN! HAHA.. HAHAHA! THE VOID WILL EMERGE VICTORIOUS, ITS EMPTINESS THE SEED FOR A NEW ORDER! HAHA.. HAAAA!"
Before they could act, a green cloud swept over the City Hall; and when it cleared, Dr. Oblivion and Kiora were gone.

Hokie, a black smith Fingerling with dark fur and a hole in his ear, rushed forward in exasperation as he glanced up at the City Hall, then to the others.
"F-Francine, Kiora, she's been.. she's been..." he spurts out despite the situation being clear to the four, "She's been ta-taken!"

You are a tiny person; less than a foot high, living in the Fingerling town of Jeaha. Fingerlings are tiny humanoid mouse creatures around the size of a human hand. They inhabit miniature towns that often lie within human cities such as Northsdale, and are strange people; they consider dubstep music to be classical. They are calm folk, but have a problem; they have little influence. The big people control the world, and right now it is in chaos; the Sultanes of the void are wreaking havoc on the world. You remain only an underlying aspect, a speck among giants... but you want to change that. You are a hero among your people, the greatest of the greatest. And you know very well the human saying:
The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Forum Games and Roleplaying / SCP: Another day, another death [IC]

OOC Thread

After passing through countless blast doors with magnetic locks and hyperalloy hulls, the workers coming in notice a group of hazmat security guards holding a man against a wall who is screaming as sores on his body appear and bleed. Another guard pushes the workers back before putting up a clear sheet to block the hallway; ultraviolet lights flash, covering the hallway in a purple hue as sprinkler systems begin to rain bleach down to sterilize the area.
A minute later, the man's screams stop as he suddenly explodes violently, guts and blood and ashes flaming out, covering the area in a gory display of death as the infection from SCP-081 comes to the final stage; spontaneous combustion.
The next three hours were spent sanitizing and cleaning the area and their suits, and the area was locked off for the next ten days for safety.
Another day, another death.

After the containment breach, work continued as normal and each person found themselves in their respective workplaces; offices, labs, armories, etc.

Quote from: REDACTED
Yesterday,
I watched three men die because one man sneezed in a room full of blood and shit and light.

Today,
three more men go in, cheap mops and each other's lives in their hands.

Yesterday,
I watched a man I admired gunned down for leaving a rose for a girl whose life was tattered by trauma she never deserved.

Today,
she doesn't remember, and three halls down I can hear her screaming.

Yesterday,
I watched a group of soldiers go down fighting against the corpses of comrades who'd died before them.

Today,
we test another sample, this time on children.

Yesterday,
I watched five men and women gunned down in an abandoned factory no one cares about.

Today,
it happens again and again. Every eleven seconds. Forever.

Yesterday,
I watched a man sit comfortably in a nice armchair, sipping scotch and laughing as he ordered a woman to simply stop breathing.

Today,
he gets the day off of work detail for good behavior.

Yesterday,
I watched hundreds of men and women in orange jumpsuits herded like animals into empty rooms that filled with gas and fire.

Today,
hundreds more are told they have a chance for a lighter sentence, and a chance to serve their country.

Yesterday,
I watched the world nearly die in a thousand thousand terrible ways. Sometimes we would have had time to scream.

Today,
I'm alive to write about it. You want happy endings? Fuck you.
You're alive to read it.

God help us all.

Site-17.
This is where it all happens; security, containment, protection, and research of many of the world's metaphysical phenomena, especially in West Europe, where Site-17 is located. Site-17 is where you will work for most of your career, for it is in dire need of positions for research and security. Whether you are a scientist coming from the most prestigious educational facilities, a field agent working to contain even more of these phenomena, or a prisoner sent to the Site for a lighter sentence, Site-17 is dangerous; no day is truly routine.
This remote place, located deep underground in the Swedish countryside, will be your home for most of your career. Better get comfortable.

For RP purposes, Site-17 has Series I of the SCPs in containment.

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Gurren Lagann Gaiden [IC]: Anti-Spirals
« on: December 11, 2014, 08:42:46 pm »
The underground village Jeeha thrives as the massive hole in the stone roof sheds moonlight into its structure. The darkness of the cave is pierced only by spiral lights glowing with green energy as they emit a healthy illumination throughout the village during the night, setting a calm mood. Some even wonder why humans live in such a small and secluded village, but little know that it is a hearth - the starting point of a grand adventure long lost, the adventure that led to the freedom of the human race and the defeat of the Anti-spiral.
The broken bridges have been replaced with wood, from when the Beastman Gunman fell and destroyed them. The entire adventures of team Dai-Gurren have spread over the galaxy, becoming a fanciful yet true fairy tale for the children of those who now inhabit Earth and the other spiral planets.
Out in the night, however, some people are still about. Whether in the mines or in the village bar, somebody is always fighting something, stone or drink, or for something, space or soberness. That's just the nature of this universe.

This spiral universe.

After the defeat of King Lordgenome long ago, and then the defeat of the Anti-spiral race, team Dai-Gurren faces its final challenge as the Spiral Nemesis comes closer and closer each passing day. For long have humans utilized spiral energy to conquer the impossible and evade the slimmest of possibilities, but can they truly defeat fate itself? But while the spotlight is centered on team Dai-Gurren, another small one begins to shine on a group of people collecting into the future, a small group that may very well change the very fate of the Spiral Universe.

The jagged peaks coursed throughout the dry land as vents of dark stone plumed with a toxic green gas, diffusing into the green sky. Clouds of toxic rain and chaotic magic reign free through the barren lands as a thick fog rolled through the valley. The Nether Reaches were indeed an inhospitable place, home to the most vicious and pugnacious of life.
"Welcome to the Nether Reaches, my friends," the fat shopkeeper says as he stands behind a cart containing a plethora of items, watching the green gas plume upwards as he calmly sips a cup of tea. The owner of the secret shop wipes his mouth with the smile of a connoisseur and continues speaking,  "a very... quaint place, I'm sure. Don't mind the smoke, or the soil... or the magic..
or the vile weeds...
Well, either way you're here to obtain the talisman that was stolen from me. A being feeding off of dire energy, this... thief, is a mystical elemental of chaotic magic, a magus of great power who chose me as his victim for his brutal thievery. Go now, and return swiftly!
Oh, and mind the Netherdrakes! Nasty creatures, they are! Roquelaire, go show our heroes the way."

A blue and white bird flew from a dead tree, circling the airspace above the heroes. Eventually, the bird flies off north, in the direction of a thin pass of stone.

"When the World was still a cooling blob, it captured an eerie companion--a glowing crystalline sphere that came to be known in lore as the Mad Moon. This small orb was full of violent radiance--a visual reminder of conflict in the heavens, bright enough to compete with the sun in daylight.
But the Mad Moon was no inert rock. It was more truly a prison, in which two warring ancient intelligences had been captured and flung into exile aeons before, once the vast Primordials that underlay creation had tired of their endless strife. The punishment for these Ancients was to be locked together in one form, forever falling through INFINITY...and thus it went until our unfortunate world captured that wanderer.
For ages, primitive societies rose and fell beneath its weird glare; creatures of varying intelligence and sophistication gazed up in wonder and curiosity, to whatever extent their sentience allowed. Meanwhile, orbital stress and tidal forces allowed the Mad Moon's inhabitants to begin exploit what were at first the slightest of weaknesses, as they set to work prying open their prison. The cracks spread slowly, from the tiniest fractures, until at last there were millions of fissures, vast and aglow with weird energies.
On one apocalyptic night, the moon finally shattered, torn apart from within. Most of the moonstuff was flung into space or consumed as it hit the atmosphere. A few rare fragments fell to earth, either as fused molten lumps or as jagged crystals. The shards lay where they had fallen, and gradually the land around them recovered. As the survivors of the prehistoric cataclysm recuperated, flourished and developed civilizations, the Mad Moon became less a memory than a dream, with the night of its destruction woven into their myths.
The fallen shards of primal matter had fractured into their original composites: Radiant and Dire. In its pure form, each type of stone gave off a peculiar energy. For those who settled around the sites, they found themselves feeding on this unearthly power until they had not only harnessed the energy but made themselves dependent on it. They built shrines around the Ancients and revered them, ironically, as godlike entities that had fallen to earth.
The Ancients, both Radiant and Dire, provided many benefits: kinetic energy, mana, protection, even resurrection. But the emanations changed everything in their influence. Around the Radiant, the effects were bright and colorful, evoking lightness and charm. Around the Dire, a sinister radioactive glow, a visual seepage indicative of poison and decay. Neither force was neutral; they were both perfect complements and total contradictions that could never be at peace.
As each stone's cultural influence spread, it eventually came in conflict with the societies of its rival. Interference between the Ancients was cause for war, as the presence of one caused a corresponding fall-off in the energy of the other. Each stone could only be restored to full power with the destruction of its Foe-stone. And so the enthralled creatures rallied to protect their land by destroying the neighboring Ancient, and from far and wide the Heroes heard the call to battle and came to join, hardly realizing that in some sense both sides were the same."
- The Achronicus, Pg. 1

That's right gents, I'm doing a DotA RP, mainly as an experiment on the battle system. There are three stats, and your hero's primary one will be one of them. Your primary stat determines your damage, and is based on your type of hero. Say, a ranger would be agility, a barbarian would be strength, and a spellcaster would be intelligence.

Your primary stat grants you +1 damage for each point. You have a starting damage of 30. You have 1 starting armorpoint.
You may allocate 70 points within reason.
STRENGTH
-Each point increases your HP by 19.
-Each point increases your HP regen by 1/4. For example, if you had 50 STR, then you'd regenerate 25 HP per turn.
AGILITY
-Every 7 points after your starting points grants you 1 armor. Armor gives a percentage reduction against physical, and you have a 25% starting magical DR.
-You get an extra attack. Each point gives a percentage for your extra attack at what your score is. For example, if you had 30 AGIL, then you can make another attack at 30% damage. This resets at 100, meaning you can have even more attacks-per-turn. If you had 110 AGIL, then you can make two attacks at full damage and an attack at 10% damage.
INTELLIGENCE
-Each point increases your MP by 13.
-Each point increases your MP regen by 1/4.

All of you are grand heroes of great renown. Hearing rumors of grand treasure in the Crypt of Doom in the Mourneland, you head to the city of Vathirond, stationed just outside of the Mourneland's terrifying mist. Your cart in the Lightning Rail comes to a halt as the conductor allows everyone out of the tram and onto the station where they begin loading and departing people of all races - Warforged, Humans, Elves, and more.
The Crypt of Doom is said to lie within the Glowing Chasms, a great abyss home to many types of undead and mutated monsters which you must fight before you can even find the entrance.
