Your character will be a college student in the Haven University of Science in Akhibara, Japan. Haven University is a science and engineering oriented university containing honors students from across the world, engaging in a rigorous curriculum based on their selected major. Your character can be from anywhere in the world, age 18-22, with some major in science or engineering (your character's skills and major is important, as it will determine what you can do in the story skill-wise).

Instead of attributes such as strength or intelligent, I recognize that people can be both smart and strong. Instead, you will be allocating points to skills that your character may know, which will be used to perform simple dice checks against a difficulty rating for a task. Skills above Expert are locked at character creation, meaning you can only reach that skill level through a lot of work (or your future self may have that skill level). Each skill has the following levels:
0 Points - Basic. Your character might know one or two things about it, but not enough to put it to practical use.
1 Points - Novice. You know a little bit about a subject, enough to do some useful things with it. If you are a novice in electronics, you know about basic circuits and how to use them.
2 Points - Apprentice. You are versed in the subject enough to do well with it. An apprentice in electronics for example, knows about most circuits and can use them in most applications.
3 Points - Journeyman. You are well-versed in the subject and can do many things with it. A journeyman in robotics can engineer well-working robots that can perform many functions.
4 Points - Expert. You have been working with this skill since your childhood and you are very good at it. An expert in computer science can easily design and engineer complex programs.
5 Points - Master. Unobtainable at base character creation, meaning that only your future self can obtain this. A master can perform at an extraordinary level, amazing to most people. A master of robotics could design entire mechas or other things. (note, robotics isnt a skill, just an example)
6 Points - Legendary. Unobtainable at base character creation, meaning that only your future self can obtain this. A legend in a skill knows basically everything about it, automatically succeeding most checks relating to the skill.

You may allocate up to 9 skill points to any skill in the list of skills, as long as the points allocated to one skill does not exceed 4. It is recommended that you diversify your skill set to accommodate the many situations you may encounter.

Science & Engineering:
Mechanical Engineering - General skill for mechanical engineering; determines how well you can design and construct mechanical systems.
Chemistry - General skill for chemistry; determines how well you know chemistry and the synthesis of various compounds and how they interact.
Biology - General skill that includes anatomy, medicine, neuroscience, etc.
Computer Science - General skill that includes programming, algorithms, 3D modelling, etc.
Physics - General skill for different types of physics
Electronics - General skill for electrical engineering and circuit design

Other:
Memory - Determines how well you can memorize details and remember various important things that might be important.
Firearms - Shooting guns. Guns are illegal in Japan, but has that ever stopped determined people?
Close Quarters Combat - General skill for knives, martial arts, swords...
Leadership - How well you can read and lead people, primarily NPCs.
Luck - Wait, this is a skill?
