Saw it. Did not like overly much. It was good and all, but I finally saw Transformers 2 right before it, so all the cool shit was kinda meh in comparison.

Well if you compare budgets, obviously the CG in Transformers is going to be much more amazing.

I felt like I was watching a bipolar schitzo describing to me the original plot due to the scriptments and multiple writers. Half the characters disappear. The movie loses key elements and gains new ones like a kid with ADHD in a candy shop that has samples. It becomes long winded.

Oh yeah, why doesn't the bad guy - WHO CAN TELEPORT not just TELEPORT and kill all the heroes when Optimus is dead? Logic fail.

But, this bipolar schitzo is also an artist, so it looks pretty damn good.

Wait- Did Picasso or Van Gogh write the script?

Can we classify it as a Dwarflike? You know Roguelikes resemble rogue, Dwarflikes resemble Dwarf Fortress.

I was playing a really decent HaCK, and I got pretty far for (although it's becoming more common) me. Lvl 10, Dl 11. I successfully slew a shape shifter, and was exhaulted by mahkleb. I moved a step. It was a tele trap. Same turn- killed by a hill gaint.

Sigmund (warning: link is spoily) is, per his creature description, the bane of all young adventurers. If my memory serves he may claim to be the Angel of Death; while this is not in fact true, you're often in no position to argue this point when you meet him.

That's who he is. What he does is kill you. You'll see soon enough how this thread got its subtitle.  ;)
Usually when I am playing an orc palidan or crusdaer (merfolk). Once I beat him up. Ate his corpse. Wield his scythe. Then when I got to the temple, it came alive and killed me.

I was never really into the hype, I didn't buy it, I just used the same computer as someone who does. I played through it from beginning to end and found it to be a complete failure. The only even mildly original thing about it was the shared user content, which was under-used and over-abused, I am sure I am not the only person who got bored from seeing the same anatomically detailed creature being re-used over and over again... But user generated content, along with everything else in that game, has been around for over a decade, and most of it was being done better...

What disappointed me was space mode. I wanted to do stuff right away. NOT GRIND TO DO IT.

i'd rather see dwarves able to climb out of a full river or pond.  i'd also like to see nearby dwarves jump in to save a friend.

I innerly hope the second will be implemented before the first. For hilarious Justice.

The problem is, there would be a bug in which the rescuing dwarves instantly fall asleep.

so if you got high enough pain resistance you could turtle everything to death?
EDIT: and i assume i wasn't added because i hadn't had an account before?

Torment is an effect that halves the HP of all living creatures on screen with no save against it. You take 5% off the original 50% damage for each level of negative energy resistance you have. The scepter is pretty good if you are a demonspawn with torment immunity, undead, or can cast necromutation.

Or if you like it rough...

So, yeah. I avoided the tombs and decided to not bother with the other half of the crypt because mummies piss me off. I found this doohickey called the "Scepter of Torment" or somesuch. Everytime I hold it I take pain damage, and it's something like +7, +6. What is it good for? Also...should I go into hell or pandemonium?

Everything on screen takes damage.

Know your character class. It's probably on of the most important skills in the game. Know if you can take on certain enemies and what the conditions have to be. And run - alot. In D:1, use scrolls and potions right away. You probably don't need them right away if your careful.

edit: Watch out for gnolls too - they be a pain if your not ready, same with orc wizards and priests. Priests won't hesistate to smite you. I usually try to use stairs to break of these large groups.

I'd probably end up being eaten alive by a crazed tribe of skateboard youths (skateboard gangs haunt my area.)
