Currently the corp wallet sits at 132,086,232 ISK due to donations. About 20 million has been spent on Office rental, and a bit more on station hangars.

Rince raises a valid point about using a 24 hour period as a snapshot, it would be better to base these calculations over a week instead. I also appreciate their concerns about everyone in the corp funding a station that only a handful of members might make use of. Not everyone might feel the same way about wanting a PoS simply because it feels cool, if they themselves aren't interested in the industrial facilities the PoS would provide.

Comp112 has very kindly offered to retool their planets to produce PoS fuel materials, if others who intend to make use of PoS facilities such as Labs and Factories did the same (even high-sec planets, when worked by multiple people, can support a PoS fuel needs) so depending on the tower we choose, all we'll need to gather are the ice materials to construct fuel blocks. With that in mind, it may actually be worth working out which type of Ice is available in Ordion (I'm not in that system at the moment or I'd check myself) and what type of fuel block uses those materials, and buy the Tower which uses that type of fuel.

Twelfth day of Autumn, Year Three:
Plans were laid, and reasonable progress was made on the trap tunnels and guard station that we hope will become the killing pits that free our Kingdom from the near constant Goblin and Mant siege. But no matter how quickly the traps were fabricated and deployed, it would never be soon enough... on schedule, a Gnomad migration arrived, and I was forced to make the terrible decision to abandon them. We tried to shout orders, to direct them wherever would be safest, the Silvery Lurkers spent hundreds of bolts trying to weaken the invaders so that the Gnomads might stand a chance of survival. But it was no good.

None of us slept well that night, our dreams haunted by the tortured screams of the slaughtered.

All these deaths are taking a heavy toll on everyone, especially the Military, who angrily voiced their complaints at being expected to stand idle in the relative safety of the fort, while Gnomes were dying outside the walls. I can only hope that they will eventually see the wisdom in my decision, and in the mean time, that they can busy themselves with continuing to build the traps, and distract themselves from their misery.

Firstly, that was a fantastic summary post LordBucket, very well done and thank you! :)

Secondly, yes, I have access to level 4 agents with every NPC corp in the Amarr Empire, so gaining personal standing with a specific level 4 agent will be a largely trivial affair.

Thirdly, I'm fine with a corporate tax, however should there be enough interest in trying a donation route I would certainly approve of that. Ideally, those of us with the greater means to generate income could take a bit of the economic burden off those who're just starting out, and for whom every million counts. Alternatively, as was suggested, mission/mining events with a specific goal of funding the corp's PoS for that month might also be a good route, and likely very fun.

Fourthly (is fourthly even a word?), although I agree that there are fewer risks involved in anchoring a PoS in high-security space, I would caution against ignoring security completely. Often times, having some bite is enough to prevent anyone bothering you at all, even if they could easily overcome your defences, if there are other people who are even easier targets, they'll go the path of least resistance and leave you alone. I think the Gallente station is the better looking of the lot, but if we're not too interested in silo space, it may be worth just calculating what we can fit in terms of facilities and weapons (including possible weapon boosts from the towers) between the various towers to work out what can strike the best balance between industry and defence. But assuming there's not much of a difference, I'm happy with going with the Gallente tower for looks alone :D

Finally, a note on future-proofing. While as LordBucket has pointed out, I can anchor the PoS after a few people leave so the corp standing is recalculated (the forums seems to agree that this takes a few days sometimes) once people rejoin, the standing will drop again. Obviously if we're running local missions the whole corp's standing will start to rise nicely, but should we find that we do manage to get the funds together for additional facilities and want to make use of them. It will require another mass exodus from the corp for a few days. That isn't much of an issue on the whole, just an exercises in patience more than anything, but for the sake of convenience it'd be worth being sure that we're not going to run out of space only a few days after we're done setting this up.

For that, it'd be useful if people who've got an interest in the PoS outside of the awesomeness of owning one, to give a shout out on the forums with what activities they plan to engage in and what facilities would be necessary for that, as well as those who intend to help out with donations for these facilities. If we know there are a bunch of people looking to sink a few hundred mill into the PoS to make sure we have the right gear, then we can plan accordingly :)

Ninth day of Autumn, Year Three:
The terrible loss of Boulder and Mr Cadaverr have weighed heavily upon the minds of the other Gnomes these past few days. Although progress has not noticeably slowed, it's clear that many feel shaken. Therefore, in order to help raise spirits, and after confirming that the Kingdom is not in dire need of any specific resources, I authorised the construction of more personal quarters. Hopefully this will please some of the citizens, or at the very least, console them.

While the citizenry focus their efforts on hollowing out the hill for more personal quarters, I have had words with the Captains of our military, and our one surviving engineer. At length, we have considered our options for ending the siege of both the Mants and Goblins, and we are in agreement that a network of traps will likely be the best (if not only) way to defeat them. With that in mind, we now begin construction of a heavily trapped arena, into which we hope to lure our enemies!

Seventh day of Autumn, Year Three:
While we turned our eyes to the less militant aspects of our Kingdom over the past few days, it allowed a number of our Gnomes to gradually relax. We even turned our attention (after expanding our farming land) to build more personal quarters, and finally finished the construction of a second windmill. With our mechanical wall functioning exactly as the engineers had described, things were beginning to look up...

And so, it comes as a great blow to have to record the deaths of some of the oldest members of our Kingdom. Boulder, the very same Gnome who invented the Mechanical wall, and was so proud of its completion, and Mr Cadaverr. It was a close call, but we very nearly lost TrashyBagles as well... no one seems to understand how this could have happened, but somehow the three became trapped at the top of the tomb monument, and despite being in plain sight of the farmers as they tended the fields, their cries for help went unheard.

That is, of course, what is being said publicly. However, here I can raise the question: How could the farmers have been oblivious to the plight of the three Gnomes for so long? Long enough that two of them would die of thirst? I fear there may be a darker element to this tragedy, and I'm determined to get to the bottom of it!

441
Fourth day of Autumn, Year Three:
It seems that reasonable progress has been made over these past few days. Not only were the engineers able to finally link our windmill to the mechanical wall (though to my dismay, I was informed that we would require more power than one windmill can produce) but our tailors were also able to begin restocking our emergency medical supplies.

Over the following days I have instructed the that the efforts of the fort should be redirected to prioritise the construction of a second windmill. Once that is done, I will have the tailor continue to produce bandages, and as winter approaches, we must turn our attention back do the farms and groves... as difficult as it may be to focus on such mundane things, with roaming bands of Green-skins and Mants outside the walls, if we neglect our farms any longer then the only thing we can look forward to through Winter is a slow death due to thirst and hunger...

Thanks for the high praise, Dorftrottel. It's always great to hear that my LPs are enjoyable to watch, and I hope you continue to enjoy them as I upload more :)

In terms of Wormholes, I honestly consider them some of the most fun places in Eve, both for PvE and for PvP. Though the recent propagation of the Sleeper (Wormhole) AI to regular mission NPCs in K-Space makes regular missions a little more fun, the risks involved in Sleeper sites really do make even the PvE grind a thrilling experience.

Although it is possible to solo Wormholes, I'd strongly recommend taking at least one other person with you, even if their only job is to constantly mash their Directional Scanner, looking for player signatures (it's pretty much one of the only ways to know that someone else is there... other than them pouncing on you). The number of times we killed people in low-class Wormholes because they were soloing sleeper sites in a Drake or something, beggars belief. Especially because when I first started living in Wormhole-space, the operation I was with weren't especially experienced so there was plenty of opportunity for the people we fought to have noticed us getting ready to jump to them... they were just too absorbed in their missions.

July 5th - Midday
Finding the Rat's son was never going to be a simple task, that was obvious. But, not put off, Randy set off in the previous episode to find the boy. However, after dodging the New Law, a suburb full of zombies, and an exploding truck, it was starting to look a little grim. And then we crashed our van. Great...

On the plus side, it seems that our vehicular antics may have caught the boy's attention, and thus we find ourselves transported from the streets, to the roof-tops. Though given that the New Law have a helicopter, this may not have been the wisest choice.

Eleventh day of Summer, Year Three:
While the Silvery Lurkers of Battle kept close watch on the occasional (but terrifyingly brutal) skirmishes between the Goblins and the Mants, within the safety of our walls, Spiderslaughter continued to build up. With the addition of a smelter, work began on returning useless items of armour and weapons into usable bars, but despite the welcome news of progress in that area, the arrival of two-headed ogres put something of a dampener on everyone's mood...

However, now that we have a steady supply of bars coming in as a result of our smelter, it is time we return our focus to the devices our engineers have been tirelessly slaving over at the Tinkerer's workshop. Now that our mechanics industry is reforged, I am hoping that we may be able to begin the construction of traps to turn back the Goblin menace!

Ninth day of Summer, Year Three:
It seems we may have underestimated just how quickly word can spread when it comes to riches and other capricious displays of wealth. Despite the threat posed by the Mant workers, Cinderfragment did send an invasion force. Though thankfully it seems all but the officers were slain as they battled their way through the Mant ranks, on their way to Spiderslaughter... unfortunately, those officers survived with nary a scratch, and worse still, they are equipped in some of the finest armour we have ever seen!

Despite the calls for the walls to be opened by Millionfoul, who assures us that he shall deal with both the Goblin officers, and the Mant invasion, by himself, unarmoured, and using nothing but his teeth and the toes of his left foot, I have strictly forbidden the opening of the fort. Instead I have the Silvery Lurkers of Battle keeping watch from the ramparts, and doing what they can to wound the besieging forces while our engineers and blacksmiths try to devise a plan...

Sure, here's a Buddy Invite. It upgrades the regular 14 day trial account to a 21 day trial, additionally if you end up signing up for the game the person who referred you gets a reward as well.

Though from what I understand, that only happens if you sign up by buying game time, rather than using an In-Game PLEX item to upgrade.

Look forward to seeing you in game :D

Hey all. Junkie and I are in a fleet mining while we talk about the Corp name.

From everything suggested I'm quite taken by Magma Forge and Magma Holdings, but still considering some options. Junkie has suggested a number of different combinations of <x> of Magma or Magma <x>. Two that caught my eye are Magma Mercs and Magma Militants, though perhaps a variant on those: Magma Mercenaries or Magma Militia. Though both of these names are quite suggestive of the corp's core activities, which we're trying to avoid.

Update:
Corp is made - Magma Forge [ARMOK], I've thrown together a corp logo but that can be changed whenever we want.

On the point of a PoS, to anchor the control tower in High-sec space the corp needs a standing of at least 5, but the corp's standing is an average of all member's standings to the empire who owns the space. So it's likely I'll need to be alone in the corp to anchor the tower. However, we do not own a tower yet, and the corp needs at least 24 hours to update it's standings anyway, so I'm thinking that for the sake of getting things together and us running some fleet ops we could go ahead and let everyone join up now, get everything sorted out in terms of logo/directors, etc.

Once that's settled, and we actually have a Tower to anchor, and have picked the location, we can go ahead and have everyone with lower than 5 standing drop from the corp until the following down time has passed (standings update then) and then I'd anchor the PoS and everyone can jump back in.

To apply to the corp, just search for it in people & places, or if you've added me as a contact, show info on me, then click on the logo for Magma Forge, and chose to apply. Once we have some directors in the corp then it wont be reliant on me being around to approve the applications personally.

Important

Actually, it just occurred to me that Mostyn pretty much has to CEO, at least to start. We want a PoS, right? So far as I know he's the only one of us who'll be in the bay12 corp who has enough faction standing to anchor one.

Of course, I can simply create the corporation, anchor the PoS and then hand the CEO position to anyone who'd enjoy a chance at running a corp, and seeing what all the options are :D

I'll go ahead and drop roles and transfer CEO in Order of the Pathless Way to someone else, it'll be 24 hours, and then I'll be able to leave the corp and create a new one. As LordBucket has pointed out, one of the only things that really needs to be decided between now and then is the name. Everything else can be worked out after the corp is made.

So any other suggestions, or votes for any of the suggestions already made?

Sixth day of Summer, Year Three:
It seems the merchants had not embellished their tales of the Mant armies which have been roaming the lands abroad. It wasn't long before the first reports of Mant sightings were relayed to me from the Silvery Lurkers of Battle, followed by more, and ever more reports. It seemed unending, but I have no doubt what we've encountered is little more than a small raiding party.

Therefore it is with no small measure of urgency that I have instructed the blacksmiths to begin work on the tools necessary to restore our engineering industry. We must prepare ourselves, and it seems the best way to do this will be with traps. But at least it would seem probable that we'll not have to worry about Cinderfragment for a while, if they must fight their way through these Mants in order to reach us...
