Oh yes, nearly forgot, if they get meek and try to leave, speak the following:

"So you can return with a larger force? I think not. You will stay here, give up your arms and armor, and be my prisoners. I am a benevolent god, and so will treat you well, but my followers will not be hounded for things out of their control. You will be shown why they are not criminals in watching the everyday lives of those here. I would not wish to start a war, and once you swear not to even attempt harm these people, my other followers, this village, or me, ever again, you will be allowed to leave, for you look to be men of your word...and a promise made to a god is a bad idea to break.

Scrolls...*shivers*. Harder to use than wands and less-cost-effective.

I think I might just save it. keep it for something more expensive; can't think of anything worth buying, really.

Malderik grimaces, and composes himself, before staring at the Duke.

"Need I remind you that I was once a member of the Engine Priesthood? While not a true clergy member, I nonetheless know far more of the Scripture than you are likely to, simply because it was my job. I know that considering these things is not heresy. Speaking of them is not blasphemy. No, for if we were to not, then how could we deal with the true heretics? But what intrigues me, is that you speak of me being a heretic for thinking of harvesting fuel from gas giants. After all, you had suggested much the very same thing just moments before. Hypocrisy does not sit well with me, Duke. When have I questioned the necessity of pulling back from terrestrial mining? I have called Mars backwater, because it is true. The very fact they still live on the planet proves it. You would wait until Terran mining stops before giving up your precious income. Let me ask you what you have sacrificed for the order. Let me ask you why you are even here on the Council, save for being a noble? You were never a priest. Besides, are not the citizens of Mars represented by you anyway? Why would they need a second? I have heard of diplomacy, but diplomacy has no place when trying to discuss matters of faith. Trying to convince another of their wrongdoing, and come to the light perhaps, but diplomacy is used for changing a person's ways, not discussing our religion. Disrespect of nobility is laudable, considering that you call me, who has proven himself in battle a thousand times over, a heretic. And why do you? Because I actually think. Rather than absorbing the ideas given to me, I wonder, and interpret the scripture for myself, along with every other Tech-Priest. Just as a species must evolve, so must we, and our faith. As for Venus, I don't think you understood what I meant. I did not propose actual colonization, I proposed giving life to the planet. Allowing their dead to rot would be a waste, and so we would harvest them. On another note, we need no defined scale. It is different for each planetary body, and giving a single scale would only create more disputes and rifts between our clergy. If you have enough money to pay for a fleet of corvettes, then by all means, go ahead. I think it would be a wonderful idea."

Idea.

Let's be a bit intimidating, shall we? It'll help with the surveyor as well. And if he doesn't listen, well that's what the army's for.

Gather all of our Stems together in a line, wielding weapons. We have 101 now, right? Then have 51 off them wield the Spears, and the rest holding bows, or something at least, to propel our 'poisoned' arrows. Gather our Fungus Spawn towards the area in a semicircle to slowly force the knights towards our soldiers. Firejackets will cover the sky, a veritable ceiling of flame above their heads. And our drakes, Tiberius, and Laksus will take up positions around our lines. Then, speak through Laksus and Tiberius(asking their permission mentally a few seconds before, of course), and all of the Stems, creating the same discordant yet melodic voice as we used last time.
"Ah, the Justicars of the Empire of Tranquility. These people are under my protection now, the protection of the god Donut. I'd prefer not to completely mutilate you and your horses, but your steel would look so fine on another one of my followers. So let me ask you. Do the few of you truly wish to fight a god? Over a few people whose only crime is having a power you cannot control?"

Then, demonstrate some of our strength. Tiberius lets out a gout of flame towards the sky, the drakes do the same, and Laksus becomes a beast, all at the same time. He returns to normal afterwards, but we need to make a point that this is Chaos. Organized Chaos. And we don't take shit from nobody.

16161
That could work, but I'm the disabler. That's what I try to do.

16162
And this is why I plan to increase troops and mining production. To keep down insurrections.

16163
Still haven't thought what to buy. Probably some wands...a wand of Web or something similar would be nice. Magic Items are very useful...

My ideas are long-term suggestions. I don't think we should make anything yet, save maybe some big yak things to carry the carts.

16165
"Bah! The current practice is perfectly acceptable! The priests interpret the Scriptures of the Prophets when we ask them if it would be appropriate to mine. Should we enact that, then I suppose it would only be correct to stop all mining on Mars completely, right, Duke? And gas giants, being giants, were possibly meant to be fuel stations; hydrogen is one of the most common substances in the Universe, after all, and makes quite good fuel. But your act would completely eliminate such prospects! Have you no education, on the backwater world of Mars? Gas giants are each and every time as large or larger than Holy Terra's mass! The Suppliers can take up positions in the asteroid fields and belts, pulling in and harvesting the rocks for our resources. These resources, in turn, can be used to construct habitation ships and nutrient generators, and then weapons and ships for our troops to destroy heretical farms, once they are...no longer needed. I would agree with adding an experimental nutrient generator, or a battery of such, to the Tech Station, as well as the addition of a Machine-Chapel. It would do me and my men, and likely the scientists as well, much good to pray to the gods, and ensure that the Yukami of the station are not displeased." (It used to be the various coutnries; why wouldn't various foreign words and religious practices get incorporated? Yukami are like the 'Machine Spirits' as at least in the Guardians interpretation of the Prophets, most everything has a soul...)

A fleet of corvettes would be appreciated, but not before habitation ships, and more powerful, less expensive, static defenses are built onto the tech station itself. Once our Suppliers are fully functional, we will have no need of planetary mines, thankfully. I do propose we send out a small fleet of a new ship design; you'll find it's schematics in your Holo-Screens. These Investigator-class corvettes will be able to find new star systems for us to move to and collect resources from, possibly even a Holy Nebula to begin mass harvesting operations; They are one of the largest resource holders that the Prophets were acceptable with collecting. Our Suppliers would help greatly there. I also propose we begin increasing recruiting rates, to combat rising heresy and insurrections. I have heard rumours of many things from my men, from alien bandits to warlocks wielding stolen powers from the planets themselves, calling their foul practices 'psionics'."

As a final word my liege, I would think the decision lay in your hands, as to allow yet another...planetary...citizen to take place in the Theocratic council. Besides, who here would wish to give up their seat? You, High Lieutenant Halkir of the Virtue's Guard? Or you, Lord-Priest Genmeal? No? I do wonder why we keep the now demoted Captain Julkirin here, as his actions have shown him to be of lesser virtue than other men. For this reason, and to allow us to make the best decisions possible, I do apologize to the Captain, but I believe he should step down. He is obviously in personal distress from his appearance, and is no longer fit for the duty here. He might be replaced by the High Engine-Priest, whom I have known personally to be a man of great faith and intelligence for many years, Restuce of the Vitality Battlestar.
(he is, of course, a technocrat...)

Sent PM. I send by PMs because I don't need the Duke of Mars knowing my various and interlocked schemes. Nor the Council of Mages Circle of Psions.

That was a comparison to Hitler though. Psions aren't better at everything. They've unlocked the secrets of the mind, but that also renders them far more vulnerable to other Psychics, and people with no connection whatsoever to Psychicness(call 'em Blanks), or people with untrained Psionic talent (Call 'em Statics, 'cause that's what they'll end up causing), are going to mess 'em up. As are Inquisitors, particularly the ones with Psionic talents related to hunting down you witches.

So...don't mean to be imposing, but I don't want to sort through about 6 pages of posts to find everyone's current actions. Can you all post both your Power's name, so i can find it, in the color and style you want it(try not to duplicate? And remember Demons are bold, Fae are italicized, and Gods are big.), and your actions, for my ease? With a dozen+ players doing that every turn will make your posts stand out and help me a lot. Thank you.

Army is good though. Anyway, the ammo;

Pollen is short for Fire Pollen; burns through armor and people on it's way past.
Thorns are more accurate, and more effective against lightly armored troops, but of course cannot penetrate thick armor very effectively.
Spores are our fungus spores to turn our organic and lightly armored foes into servants of Chaos. I mean Life. Yeah. That's what I meant.

Spines is big, heavy, and goes through armor easily. Finned ones go farther, hit harder, and are more accurate, but need special weapons to fire.
Quills are light, fast, and thin, penetrating light armor and killing people with poisoned edges.

Seed pods explode on impact violently, blasting away large portions of our foes.
Bulbs explode into constricting and poisonous vines which wrap and entangle enemies, as well as killing infantry.
Spore bombs have hundreds of spores, if not thousands, that burst out to engulf and convert our adversaries.

Messing with the world is kindof what we do. We're Chaos, but more than that, we're a young god. We need to make our impression on the world.

And I don't think he rolls for battles. So far, looks like he just looks at our forces, our tactics, and then thinks up something really cool. So bookkeeping isn't really hell. Especially since it would be harder to have lots of similar creatures; 'So which beetles are your cavalry again?'

Boons of life will help how, when our plants already grow in a few days? A few boons here and there is good, but too generous and we overextend ourselves. Why do you think I advised the Fire Nectar and the Webbers? As well as the Spine-Sheep and various other improved animals for an economy?

As for army of monsters...why would we be attacked for having a weird monster army when everyone else has one too? From the undead of Maher, the orc hordes of Grumugga, or the Basilisk tanks snakes of Krait...everyone has a non-human army. Why? Because monsters are not only better, customizable, and don't worship you, but they're cheap, relatively. We're getting around six dozen Plant Soldiers, every few days at the least. Having a monstrous army simply fits in with our Chaos aspect.

We can have monsters escort traders, and mages. Don't waste boons on people we don't even know the names of. They're expendable otherwise.

Wait, what's the name of the priest? I meant for him to have the Chaos boon, not the merchant.

It's not hundreds, it's maybe a dozen at most. Our villages economy is already excellent; from the monsters we've made. Our Webbers will be making incredibly good armor for any Booned Ones(the only humans that should be fighting), as well as excellent trade material as the market will soon be flooded with Fire Nectar and it's value will drop, and if we make our Spinesheep have ivory...well there's another source of income. What else is valuable...oh yes, spices, which we can make. Really, the only stuff we can't make which is valuable is metals. And if we get some Mining Moles...

Oh hell no to human military. We don't need that many people with boons. Instead, we could make Ustan have a Chaos boon, so he can 'deflect' enemy magic, and we can make creatures for the other things. Hopefully, once we clear out more of the forest, which we should do, to make more room, we can start making 100 or more plant soldiers per day. The first shall be their commander, and grants more intelligence, free thought, and the ability to make strategic and tactical decisions. 10 others shall be lieutenants in charge of squads and eventually regiments, with a lower level of intelligence, but tactical decision making and such. Basically, we need commanders so we don't have to focus on them while they're fighting.

We should make Saps, about eight feet tall, thick, look heavily muscled(though it's vines), and can use our heavier weaponry arsenals. Plants can change while they grow, but other than that rarely change. However, our Stems should have flowers buds for hands. They can blossom into the right weaponry, and fall off into seed bearing fruit when no longer needed. To preserve energy efficiency of their metabolisms, seeds would thus no longer grow in their hair. Additionally, ammo for various ranged weapons would grow from seed pods along their thighs, abdomen, and lower back, including 'grenades, of various types. These can of course asily be changed as to what types grow, or if any grow, by their commanding officers who have an innate knowledge of how this wold work. Now for a list of weapons used by our soldiers.

As for fast attack recon type units, morphing dogs or wild cats into a humanoid shape, with similar weapon making abilities possibly based on animals like skunks, porcupines, and platypi, would make a force to be reckoned with.

For artillery, large yak like creatures, who can function as slow, but incredibly strong beasts of burden, with 'cannons' on their back, mwhich can fire different types of ammunition. I want us to be versatile, powerful, and diverse. This means that should Krait or a different god of disease or poison shows up, it'll be more difficult to tailor their weapons to all of our troops.

Our major troops being plants, they are likely to be tough but unreactive, likely feel no pain, but are also slow. To provide a counter for this, we need some mounted troops, some transports, and some support units. I suggest that we make the Mother, which should look like the love child of a beetle, a mammoth, and a tree. Seed pods grow within it, it has large cavities for protecting it's charges, and with various protrusions for offense. Thick carapace armor and large tusks help it for defense and close combat. It's helpers and 'children' are mantis like creatures which have a symbiotic with it. They help take care of it's seeds and gestation sacs, as well as taking nutrients from it, and help protect it's relatively vulnerable insides from enemy boarders. In turn, it shelters and feeds them, letting them do the work needed to care for it's charges and keep it healthy, picking away parasites and having organic terminal like things they can access(and only them), an aspect of Chaos within it's design allowing them to change it's aspets and organic materials, for example the carapace becoming thicker at the expense of it's weapon systems, or regenerating quickly, or adapting to become immune to a new toxin or illness. It can feed on blue melons and blood melons, needing the latter for animal based troops, and the former for plant based ones. However, it can also feed on the organic soup made by the Scavenger. A wiry creature with a bloated torso, it feeds upon our dead soldiers, melting their entire bodies down for the Mother's consumption and recycling. Why? Because otherwise our troops might rise again on the wrong side of death.

We need command troops! Like a Queen for the Firejackets, who can make decisions instead of us!

Weapons:
Thorn-Blade: Also a Bone-Blade for animal troops, just a generic sword, made of plant material, that is long, pointy, and sharp.
Thorn-Fist: Bigger fist with a few big thorns(or spines for animals) to bash through the thicker armor and penetrate body cavities.
Lasher: Whether based on a tail or a vine, a mobile, controllable whip with quills/thorns on it to hit from afar.
Livewood Spear: Essentially a long, strong pole, with a small Thorn-Blade on the end, to account for enemy mounted troops.
Hand: You know, a hand. To be handy.
Wide-Petals: A shield, essentially, made of hard flower petals. Not really feasible for our fast attack animals, so not really usable by them.
Pistil: AHAHAHAAHAHAHA get it! It's a pistol! It can fire Pollen or Thorns. Explain those in a bit. Might be called a regurgitator and fire Spines or Quills for our Beasts.
Petal Rifle: A basic rifle, not really made for rapid firing, more for long ranged accurate support. Fires Pollen, Thorns, or Spores. Animal version is more like a sniper rifle, firing Finned Spines.
Stem Gun: Shorter range, faster RoF. Fires the same ammunition for Plants, fires Spines, Quills, or Sacs. Usable by both 'breeds'.
Root Cannon: Big gun. Fires Seed Pods, Bulbs, or Spore bombs. Usable by Saps.

You guys can think of more, can't ya?

Calm your jets. I have 6 hours to work on the turn now, but it's easier with a computer rather than an iPad. I'll start doggedl y working for your amusement in about 45 minutes when I have access to my computer.

On another, I find cutting and filing away gate marks for 40k quite entertaining.

Anyway. I won't be online to post turns on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or the occasional Saturday. So, I'll try to start doing updates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Weekends give you extra time to work on your devious and divine plots.

As a hopefully final note, I'm thinking of starting a suggestion game after this one. That, an improved version of this, or an empire based game. A warning; I am a fan of complex, overbearing, and often redundant rules, plots, and schemes. I find them fun.

Why no more creatures?

As for food, why make a separate food source for each? The bluemelons are keyed to humans dietary requirements; let's just shift them around a bit. Make it so there are a certain number of leaves as it grows, and plucking certain ones up or down means it changes to fit different dietary needs, texture needs, etc. Maybe even make it so they actually have some be animals that get off the vine for the Drakes and Webbers to hunt.

And now...we BURN The Trees have served us well. Instruct them to move out of the ring they previously occupied, forming a super dense layer around the edges. Now, burn all the vegetation that was in the ring; slash and burn means the ash will fertilize crops well. The wilderness may be chaos, but we need room for our growing armies...Just an idea, though.
