As for the hamsters I don't think the elves would appreciate seeing that they don't like slavery.
But if you put [PET] to the hamster men they should be trade-able to the elves.

Bonus:make this arena pit deep and in the middle of a meeting zone (the hole shouldn't be part of the meeting zone) so your dwarves and pets don't get bored.

Never happened to me.Did'ya press anything that may have made it do that?
Maybe re-installing should work.The closest thing it ever did was to freeze mid-film and make an unstoppable loop of 2 frames which you could still edit but it didn't change anything.
