DF Gameplay Questions / Rock Fall Traps
« on: November 12, 2007, 02:19:00 am »Frankly I don't see it. How do you build and conceal something outside that drops rocks on peoples head? Does it use trans-dimensional rift or something? Dwarven magic?
In fact... Now that we have hatches and the like, we don't really need rock fall traps anymore. It takes a little more work and juryrigging but you can build rock fall traps without making actual traps. Of course it also takes more space, but... isn't that basically what a rock fall trap is? A rock up in the ceiling, that is released upon a trigger being tripped to fall on the victim's head?

Oh, and of course, when thinking of fire, one can never leave out weapons: flaming catapult/balista shots, flaming (cross)bow barrages... ahh, the possibilities are endless.
