"Why me?"

Yeah, I remember being chosen for... an experiment of sorts. If you are my subconscious, you must have access to my memories. Show me everything. I need to know.

Dex, you are a fucking god. I hope you plan on releasing the MP3 for that loop.

Also, social network pages/buttons. Plug them into the site.

Pretty sure if we want to indoctrinate some enemies, we would have to get some more intelligent units, which won't just attack anything in it's grasp. Like the SmartFace!

I was thinking that our ConvertFace would just turn their matter into a slime with similar powers. More chemistry, less mind manipulation.

Better unlock the subconscious and head back out of the tower to prepare for what will be the attack of two armies now. Still believe indoctrination units should be created, operating by turning enemies into loyal brood armed with some of their former abilities. Build these, and use them to form a decent sized army.

Scold Pool as well. We do not eat the guests.

> Examine fruit, then enter tower.

Well, that certainly could have gone better. Then again, it could also have been much worse.

also > Attempt to initiate diplomacy with the one hiding behind that tree.

It can still go worse. Murphy's Law applies here, and they'll be back with Berserkers to cut down our ranks. Try to convert this guy then skedaddle into the tower.

Wat. This is a double post.

Go look behind the tree at the hiding one. Commence diplomancing.

No more diplomacy. Commence indoctrination. Accept the sludge! Hug the sludge! BECOME ONE WITH THE SLUDGE.

Hmm... that looks unsafe yet fun. I'd be down for plowing through the tower and messing shit up, but we need to spawn some more brood. Preferably Cloud-faces with the weak unit spawning modifier. Create some instant armies...

In fact, why don't we make a conversion slime. Like, when it attacks an enemy, it has a chance of converting said enemy to the brood? If we could use that on some Azure Legion... we could rule this entire world.

> Examine first floor of tower.

Wait wait wait... weren't we all being uber-prudent about throwing a needle just minutes before. Now we are just gonna go guns blazing into the tower we know nothing about? For shame.

We should get our army and subconscious together before we do stuff.

But if you insist, send a minion in first to scout the first floor. If he doesn't come back in a minute... he's dead son.

Hey guys, we flashed the offensive gesture.

http://www.dexworks.net/?webcomic_post=flash-an-offensive-gesture

Anyways... back to work. The cloud-breathing sludge (Lung-face?) is a must. As a modification, I propose one of the following:

It can release breathed clouds at will as an attack/defense mechanism.

It solidifies clouds into a a ball through strange chemistry. These "cloud balls" can be thrown, acting like smoke grenades upon contact with the ground.

It can turn breathed clouds into more minions, preferably as solid as their counterparts. This way, we can exponentially grow our army, even if these will weaker than even standard brood. (Cloud-face?)

If we can't build one of these right away, let's find something to kill for EXP. It's grinding time.

huh, well one person wants to donate, thats neat.

Some questions then, NES:

  • What would you say would be the "worth" of an update, like, how much should be donated for me to prioritize working on this above all else?
  • For how long would that priority keep going to keep it fair? A week? A month?
  • The submit-box is actually pretty hard to pull off, so I am thinking that what if this thread became the submit box if I focus on having it on Dexworks, and then just note in here when there is an update with the first image in the update?

  • Worth? Name your price, you are the one doing the comic.
  • Daily priority should last a month for every $30-$50 I guess.
  • The forums could work as a submit box until you can purchase a big 'ol server for the submit box. If it's a matter of people spamming, you could use Facebook login API. But an onsite submit box should be a goal.
  • Why not a kickstarter? I would back this. I would get people to back this. I'd spam everyone I know to back this. A kickstarter would help to define your primary and stretch goals, create a donor reward system, and provide updates on progress. If you were to go through with this, an onsite submit box and print copies fit nicely as a stretch goal.

The obvious solution is to donate and request a spectros update.

You heard it people, drown this man in dosh!

I'd be up for donation. But there is a catch. The following must happen:

  • Dex continues to develop this universe.
  • Dex makes this into a fully-fledged web-series, with submit box for suggestions and its own page on Dexworks. In fact, front page updates of Dexworks.
  • The Bay12 saga becomes Chapter 0 of this saga.
  • Donations go towards print copies of this glorious endeavor.
  • This becomes better than Homestuck ever was. (This is the easiest part, you are already there!)

Those are my demands.

He's too far above us at this point. Just flash an offensive gesture and take your army towards the needle. You may also want to think up a sludge that somehow clears fog and create one as soon as possible. (Breathes it?)

...the Needle isn't ranged. Fairly sure it isn't even meant to be used as a weapon. Sharpened sludge...I dunno. Possible, I suppose, but he still has the advantage in the air.
He's being carried away by a butterfly, which aren't exactly known for their sturdiness. Gravity will do a lot of the work for us, if we can just help it along a bit.

I dunno. I'm a strategy gamer, I like to pick and choose my battles, and right now, this doesn't seem like a battle we should choose. I'd rather try and unlock our subconscious(whatever that means) and get some more minions before we fight him. Preferably ones able to gang up on people. And lots of them.
I don't think it's a battle many, if any, of us wanted to choose. The problem is, the war chose us, and we either take a pre-emptive strike now or get blitzkrieged so hard it makes France laugh at us once this jerkface has recovered on his own terms. He knows what he's doing, he'll gain power faster than us, and he may spread word of our location among our other enemies, so we need to take him out now while we have as much of an advantage as we're ever likely to get.

I'm locking into some form of preemptive strikes, regardless of how it gets done. We cannot let the Azure Legion become aware of us, at least until we unlock our subconscious.

...yes, let's piss off the dude who knows what he's doing while we still don't.

I don't want us to lose the needle, I don't particularly want us to lose our pole arm, and I'd rather him be the sort of enemy who ends up saying 'You fought well and honorably, so I will let you live so I may have the joy of fighting you again hurr hurr hurr'. Start from scratch, yes, die, no.

We won't hit. It's pretty obvious to me, at least, that we won't. He doesn't have allies with him, no weapon, and is in starter armor, but...he knows what's going on and what he's doing. We don't. He could pull literally anything out of his ass, and we wouldn't stand a chance against most of it.

I say we talk to anything not Shekersrall or a known enemy,(as well as Shekersrall, of course) and try to make multiple allies. Azure Legion is at war with the Shekersrall Brood, but I doubt everyone is. Possible, though. Little dudes just got pissed because we hit them accidentally.

I think those things that attacked us earlier may have been livestock. The Greytribals weren't attacking the Tonguewhips, and they didn't intervene to help us, so that may have been the catalyst for our fight.

(Just a note, those are temporary reference names until we can identify the creatures.)

But we need to get rid of him before he alerts the Azure Legion. One dude pulling things out of his ass? Try to fight an army of asspullers and see what happens. He may be dangerous now, but he'll be worse with backup. We can't let him fly away. Proceed with insults.
Double post, but still. They'll find out, for one. Two, since it's called the Brood, they aren't going to dedicate their entire goddamn legion to us, especially when we aren't yet a threat due to how noobish we are. We need to ignore this guy so we can figure out how to pull out of our own ass unmolested.
>We need to let the enemy escape who is at his weakest now, knows how to get stronger quickly, and has said he will hunt us down soon, plus is as far as we know the only one from his faction that knows our location
>So that we can learn unmolested

Wut.

Exactly. Get at him while he's weak. Otherwise, we are literally letting him screw us.

+1 as well, we need to focus on the long term, not chucking needles at someone who can fly at will.

Chucking needles is actually a dead idea guys. New idea is to insult him and challenge him to a fight because his ego is beyond inflated, especially for another "beginner uniform" dude.

I think he's basically the Butt Monkey of the Azure Legion and bluffing about his experience, considering it's implied they demoted him.
