It's standard dnd lootsplitting.

Two players come across a magic shield.  They can't split it in half, so they can either sell it and split the profit, or one can buy the other's share.

It gets a little more complicated if both want the item, but that's not hard to solve, either - the player who wants it the most just pays the other a little extra.

Ah - I genuinely didn't see the 5% increase, lol.

I thought it was the same standards, for only 2.00 instead of 2.51.  Otherwise I would have gone with yours.
