Roll to Tech: Arena

You wake up in a strange arena. You don't know where you came from or how you got here. What you do know is this: to survive, you must eliminate your rivals, develop new skills, collect powerful treasures, and claim the crown!

Rules:
  • Actions are handled with a d6 roll, with a 1 being a complete failure and a 6 being an overwhelming success.
  • Each player starts with at least one item and at least one Tech. Techs are skills that carry special effects and cost TP to use.
  • If a player rolls a 6 during combat or while using a Tech, they immediately "spark" a new Tech, using it on the spot at no TP cost. If a player rolls a 1...
  • Slain players drop randomly-generated items. Yeah, I'm totally ripping off Looter's Delight here.
  • First to 10 kills wins!

Roll to Tech died because (a) I realized that by the time it ended, everyone's character sheet would be 50 techs long, and (b) the enemy turns were getting kind of annoying to write. So why not shorten players' lifespans and cut out enemies entirely with an arena game?

with apologies to SaGa and You Can't Defeat the Infinite Wall of Slime

You stand on a small island in a vast ocean. In front of you is a colossal tower; a plaque over the door reads 100-FLOOR BATTLE CHALLENGE. Facing the tower is a surprisingly modern building that a neon sign advertises as a SHOP.

The goal of the game is to reach the 101st floor of the tower. Who are you, and what do you do?

This is an experimental dungeon-crawling game where the dungeon-crawling component is noninteractive. Rather than piloting your character through the dungeon, you will receive a report of how they fared: what foes they faced, what traps they sprung, what loot they found, and whether they lived to tell the tale.

Between dungeon trips, you can improve your character by selling unneeded items, buying equipment, and leveling up. You can also trade items with other players or form parties with them. But that's only if you survive the first...

Attitude: Your character's approach to dungeon-diving summed up in a single word. This will affect how they react to obstacles. Consider a rich hoard of treasure guarded by a terrifying dragon: a Foolhardy or Greedy character might charge the dragon at once, while a Cautious or Cowardly character would retreat even if they had a decent chance of winning.
Attributes: Divide 15 points between the following attributes: Strength, Constitution, Agility, Magic, and Luck. Each stat must be at least 1 and at most 5.
Class: Your character's profession or defining quality. Examples: Enchanter, Wrestler, Elf, Chronomancer.
Skill: Some special ability or trait your character has. Examples: Magic Resistance, Treasure Sense, Monster Identification.

A solid list of perks... but rent is due MONDAY, and you're FLAT BROKE, so you might not have access to them for long.
