Not suggesting we submit this right now, but I had an idea for an anti-removal critter:

Quote
NAME*: Shield Mech
COST: 0
IMAGE*:
COLOUR*: Black
TYPE-SUBTYPE: Critter
EFFECT: This card's cost is treated as 5r while in play.
FLAVOUR TEXT: N/A
STRENGTH-VITALITY: 20/20
RARITY: Common (6 copy max per deck)

And here's a way of getting around Immutable's limitation:
Quote
NAME*: Backdoor
COST: 4
IMAGE*:
COLOUR*: Black
TYPE-SUBTYPE: Sticky
EFFECT: This card ignores Immutable. Your cards' Immutable traits only affect cards played by your opponents..
FLAVOUR TEXT: N/A
STRENGTH-VITALITY: N/A
RARITY: Rare
Maybe that would make Immutable a less interesting mechanic, I don't know.

Finally, here's a 0r critter:
Quote
NAME*: Variable Soldier α
COST: 0
IMAGE*:
COLOUR*: Black
TYPE-SUBTYPE: Sticky
EFFECT: When this card comes into play, you may swap its Strength and Vitality.
FLAVOUR TEXT: N/A
STRENGTH-VITALITY: 10s-30v
RARITY: Rare
It loses 10 stat points compared to a generic 0r critter, but the stat-swap mechanic lets it adapt to the cards the opponent is playing. It also lets you choose whether it dies to Scientific Waifu's backlash or not.

I wouldn't play a game where dying as town made me lose, but I'm with NJW: I 100% want to see the Maverick in action. Hilarious role concept

Can we make ASCW 10s20v instead of 20s10v? As-is, it'll be absolutely excruciating to keep it on the field, at least in the early game.

Oh, my bad for missing that! I won't change my vote, then.

We do have more turns to make stuff. So it's not that big a deal. And we have shudder generics to fall back on.
[Immutable] is kinda double-edged since it can't be supported by low-tier cards, or cheated out cheaply. But it's also quite useful for ignoring anything but the higher levels of removal. Just a unique-level beatstick that can help out against most threats.

For sure. What I mean is that right now, a common lets us take six awful starter cards out of our deck and a unique only one. When our deck has fewer awful starter cards in it, uniques will be attractive. Right now, not quite so much. Like, imagine that Team One submits the most basic possible 0* critter: an effectless 30v-20s. With our 20v-20s Generic Mooks, we'd struggle to stay afloat long enough to get Assault Unit Mecha-chan out.

I don't think Rad Soldier's gimmick synergizes with Scientific Waifu, so here's my proposal (shamelessly repeated from Legacy Tournament, where I never played it):

Quote
NAME: Tribble
COST: 1
IMAGE*: https://i.imgur.com/1AUkevm.png
COLOR: Pink
TYPE-SUBTYPE: Critter
EFFECT: (Quickplay) If this card is in your hand at the end of your turn, show it to your opponent, then duplicate it.
FLAVOUR TEXT: N/A
STRENGTH-VITALITY: 30/10

It can take out an x/30 and it gives us a steady supply of creatures to blast with Scientific Waifu.

Except that on second thought I think we might want to submit a common, or at the very most a rare, so that our deck has more good cards and fewer bad ones. Six copies of a good 0-2* trooper would do more for us than a single 7* superunit, IMO.

I'm not sure how VS will feel about the removal of the Generator gimmick. I think it made the card more interesting, albeit weaker (especially at the moment!) than a flat Immutable 4 does.

I guess it could be bumped up to Rare? Not like you'd want to run more than two or three with how expensive and lategame-centric it is.

There is a Insert Quote button. Also which post was that last one?

Here:
Quote from: Assault Unit Mecha-chan
----
NAME*: Assault Unit Mecha-chan
COST: 7?
IMAGE*: [210x120 pixels]
COLOUR*: Black/White
TYPE-SUBTYPE: Critter - Mech
EFFECT: When played, gains Immutable equal to the number of Generators on the field.
FLAVOUR TEXT: "All systems nominal. I'll wrap this up quickly, Commander."
STRENGTH-VITALITY: 60/120
RARITY: Unique (1 copy max per deck)
----
NOTES: The high-cost beatstick I mentioned earlier.
----
Immutable X
This card is immune to any effects originating from cards costing less than X Rads.

I'll vote for A Certain Scientific Waifu (Stirk) and Assault Unit Mecha-chan.

March of Industry is way too slow to be worth it, IMO. By the time you're playing 2-rad cards, you can't afford to spend 3+ turns setting it up.

Read the thread. All of these cards are horrifyingly complicated and overpowered. I fear for my life.

I'm still catching up on the thread, but here are a couple of cards I think would be funny:

Quote
NAME*: Botched Resurrection
COST: X
IMAGE*: TBD
COLOUR*: Yellow
TYPE-SUBTYPE: Sticky (Attach)
EFFECT: Attach to a discarded Critter that costs X or less. It reenters play on your side of the field with its Strength and Vitality swapped.
FLAVOUR TEXT: N/A
STRENGTH-VITALITY: N/A
RARITY: Common

Quote
NAME*: Flash Resurrection
COST: X
IMAGE*: TBD
COLOUR: Yellow
TYPE-SUBTYPE: Sticky (Attach)
EFFECT: (Quickplay) Attach to a discarded Critter that costs Y or less, where Y is ½ of X (rounded up). It reenters play on your side of the field.
FLAVOUR TEXT: N/A
STRENGTH-VITALITY: N/A
RARITY: Common
I think resurrection is within Yellow's purview: it reuses discarded cards, and the traditional mad scientist animates his creations with electricity.

I get the impression that we have other priorities right now, though.

Would a Rare Quickplay Draw Trick work? Basically a Deck Thinner.
Aren't deck thinners notoriously overpowered in literally all card games?
