I just had my Dungeon Master bruise his spine while removing a floor and falling 2 stories.  My Captain of the Guard has had a spinal injury for 2 years that hasn't healed.

Anyhow, I was curious what would happen if a dwarf fell into deep water instead.  I tried it, and the dwarf was stunned but had no injuries!  Here is the video: http://mkv25.net/dfma/movie-146-splashdwarf

I've had 2 secretive moods, my engravings don't have anything with dwarves being rejected.  It might be that starting a secretive mood will cause those engravings (not the other way around).

I've noticed that when I get new immigrants, theres a chance for a mood while they are coming in.  Also, I'd have someone get a mood right after the river thawed.

I've taken down a titan in the older version with a mob of dwarves, the legendary from mood ones help a lot

You can chain up dogs near the bridge  ;)  But you can't link lever to those outside chains =(  You could remove the bridge (i think?) if it really bothers you, I wish road was removable.

toady said there are random inside cave features that can have spores for them.. you wont always get them to grow

no way to administer that, that i know of.  I've had yellow spine a few more seasons and no change.  Only 2 seasons, i didnt get to play much this weekend.  His leg which was yellow is completely healed.

I've got a yellow spine injury, its been over a year now and not reduced.  But I'm keeping him around, I was thinking of making him my sheriff.

I mix it up between games, here's what I went for last time

Mayor/Trader/Bonecrafter
Miner/Mechanic
Mason/Stonecrafter
Carpenter/Woodcutter
Brewer/Grower
Cook/Grower

Sometimes I'll bring 6 picks and 1 axe, even though only one guy has mining skills.  Usually just 1 pick 1 axe.  I tend to bring an anvil, but sometimes I like bringing more animals and wood.

I've never seen a red injury get better.  I've had a dwarf in bed with red lower boddy and kept happy for 2 years.  She makes a great warm body for meeting the royal guard count, at least she still serves a purpose.
