Well I think at the start you were sort of getting at having different professions than "mercenary" or "ultimate fighting champion", I'd be cool with that.

Maybe one day you could start in adventure mode, recruit some crafty dwarves, gather all your provisions, and go start a mountain fortress, without having it start automatically like we do now.

It would be good to have a rep with each civilization, maybe integrate it with the "Legends" system.

I like pausing my fortresses!

Multiplayer adventure mode would be pretty cool, that would be a whole new project in itself.  FFXI is enough for me on that front for now =)

Suggestion: create your own multiplayer game inspired by Dwarf Fortress!  I would try it   :D

I like the idea of pre-filled quivers, however it might not work out so well at the moment.  Once a dwarf picks up a quiver, he's always going to have it till its destroyed.  They would just empty the quivers being used for storage, the same as they do ammo bins now.  It would be good if quivers held more bolts.  

And restacking items is definitely needed.

You can change the hotkeys around in the interface.txt file.  Yeah I know its annoying to do it each time a new version comes out  :)

I think any dev work done should be for helping dwarves, not hurting them.  I prefer to take care of my dwarves until there is a cure, or my fort gets wiped out ;p

I think there are deeper issues.  Things should have different prices at different locations, depending on the supply and demand.  Immigrant clothing should depend on where they come froml: how rich they are, and what things cost over there.

The racial and regional factors that already play into clothing choice are cool, at some point the economy can be more detailed and then immigrant clothing can depend on it also.

Well, what happens to NPC created towns during the passage of time?  Whatever solution applies to NPCs would be the same for forts previously run by players.

There are a lot of scenario type ideas here.  Unfortunately they are not scheduled until after version 1.

The essential idea, of a User Defined Scoring System, is a good one.  I'm thinking it's a long way out, but Toady is very good about Adding Things To The List, so why not add it.

Water pressure of a point in water is proportional to the amount of water above it.  I think that's at equilibrium though.  The water pressure at the bottom of a 1x1 foot puddle 1 foot deep is the same as at the bottom of 100x100 1 foot deep.

The pressure values for the J shape are like this:

The system would try to move to equilibrium, where water pressure is always 1 more than the square above it, 1 less than water below it, and equal to adjacent squares.

I think Toady will have to pressure of gasses and liquids to do things consistently, but should save it for later.  The current flooding model will work for now and can be changed later ;p

It is pretty cool when you see individual bolts with goblin blood, dwarf blood, or goblin and dwarf blood on them.  But for sanity, I think we can say a bolt (of a material) is a bolt.  Also, a coin is a coin, at minimum coins of the same year and material should be stackable.

Being able to ignore a monster the same way you can forbid an item would be useful.  You can already ignore areas (pretty much) with zone designation.
