Wedgey him so hard he's hanging from the roof!!!!! With the force

Roll: 5

...

You see the person stop, adjust themselves, then carry on walking.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Cease all struggling. Maybe if I give up whatever is holding me will stop trying so hard?

You relax, and stand stock still. You feel the force holding you release a little. Unfortunately, when it feels you try to shimmy away slowly, there is still enough force to hold you still.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?"

At the sound of your voice the person, now within 20 feet of you, stops. They reach up and slowly, almost dramatically, folds back the hood of their robes. The....creature....looking back at you has to be one of the most bizarre yet enticing non-human things you have ever seen. Roughly 5 foot 6, with pale purple skin, radiant emerald eyes and ivory coloured shoulder length hair, she, and it is most definitely a she, would be beautiful if it weren't for the glimpse of twin rows of razor sharp teeth when she smiles and the wicked expression plastered across her face.

"Hehehe hmmm, all in good time, child, all in good time." Her voice is like the gentle purr of a cat, mellow and oddly calming. "If you must know my name, it is Ala-shar, Chief scientist of the Morey Matriarchy and this.." she continued, gesturing around her "...is your mind. However, this is no dream. No, no, no this is an....intermediary.... location for the path you are about to travel."

She smiles, her oddly human like facial features failing to reassure you.

She walks up and stands almost directly in front of you, seeming to examine your body and face for an unknown reason.

You still cannot move, although if you try, you think you could break the hold.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you do?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You concentrate on trying to prank the person into freeing you from whatever is holding you stationary. You concentrate, however the only visible reaction is (s)he slows slightly and his/her robes billow a bit faster......
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The unknown visitor is almost close enough for you to see under the hood. As close as (s)he is now, you can see the person is smallish, and slender.

The flashing memory windows, emotional fluctuations and strange bodily feelings stop as the character reaches almost two thirds of the way between where you are and were he/she started at.

You feel empty and scared.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You try to break free. You try as hard as its possible. You cant get your feet to budge. its like someone used bostick to glue your feet to the ground.

Your try to use your mind, after all this place looks like a dream and, as you are here, it must be your dream, right? Unfortunately, even through you DO feel some sort of force stir, it gives you the middle finger and does NOTHING!

The person is getting closer. you can see that he/she is wearing rather attractive yet intricately decorated robes. They are billowing despite there being no wind that you can feel.

ACT 1: The Morey

You wake up, at least you think you do. You feel groggy. You are standing in a vast, white, bright plain. Flashes of things you vaguely remember from sometime in the past spinning about in little windows that flash in and out of existence, shadows dancing at the corners of your vision..... the whole experience seems very surreal, almost as if it was a dream or illusion.

You can remember who you were, you think. A young woman working as a secretary, but it stops there, memories interfered with by some unknown force or entity. no matter how much you try, you cannot remember any more.

You try to walk, yet as you try you discover something is holding you in place.

You look around.

It is then that your vision clears enough for you to notice someone in the distance, walking slowly towards you.

What do?

Double post; but anyway

Mal, I don't think you should stop this, but in order to stop these things for escalating in circles, I suppose we enter some sort of voting system for these kind of volatile matters*. It's hard to transmit anger through numbers and letters. Let's not use a poll, but something like this.

*Other things can be done normally, though I think the GM wouldn't complain about having a short suggestion summary around.
Spoiler: The vote (click to show/hide)

+1

It can also be expanded as more options are placed on the table.

You know, I kinda find it hilarious to see how the thread's moving in circles.

Well, here is a full recap. And a plan.

We got:

-A liegelord which doesn't like us.
      -Not established (yet)
-Married to the Count's lawfull daughter
-The Count's bastard
      -Unknown Pretender
      -Unlawfull
      -Probably Replaceable.

The Plan:

    -Weaken the Count's position
-Rumours about the last Count's death
    -Strengthen the Bastard's position
-Introduce him to other Nobles (not nessecerially as the Count, but at least as someone of importance)
-For that he will need to leave Feroshire*
    -Other things I forgot

Worst case scenarios:
    -Attack on Feroshire
-Chance of aid from fellow lieges, maybe under the banner of the Count's bastard
    -Attack on Percival
-Legitimates us to attack the Count, together with some of the other lieges, and maybe even Ducal support. In any case, will probably result in the Count being removed

So yeah, I don't see what extra value gaving the Count's bastard with us gives. Ok, he's safer here, but remember that we're not doing this for his safety/ his good, we're doing this to remove the New Count from his position. If the lad dies in the meantime, bad for him.

*And as per Gerv's suggestion, get to Percival's house. Besides, if we keep him under our thumb, people will start to consider him our creature, which might turn out badly for us. We want to let them thing we support the bastard as lawfull heir, because the new "Count" murdered the old, not because we don't like him.

And if the new 'count' attacks anybody, he will be removed anyway, probably through force.

I wonder how good our guards have become at catching nightly trespassers so far.

The bad thing about keeping him at Percival's is that if Owen finds out, we cannot be there to protect him.

It might also be good to tell the Duke we have found a Bastard Heir to the seat of the County.

Why do you think Percival's lands are undefended?

Percival has troops, just like us. If Owen attacks him, we can ride to his rescue along with the other lords (maybe even the Duke) as attacking another lord is against the rules of the land. Plus it would be a surefire sign that he is not confident and he would most probably lose the title anyway from attacking another lord without provocation.

Also, he would probably not attack another genuine noble. he has no qualms about attacking us due to our lowborn status.

And no, please dont stop this. i enjoy it i just think that certain people dont flesh out their points well enough. everyone on this thread is guilty of this, including Gerv and GWG, among others. I have also seen that in responses to one another, people are quick to stop being civil. It also seems sometimes that certain people intentionally miss the point others are trying to make just to try and force us to take an overly cautious path.

Gerv brought up a good point. people on here are overly cautious, and it has already cost us once (the wool merchant debacle). It is going to cost us again if we take the slow road. Sometimes you have to take risks, but that is beside the point at the moment.

Also, maybe people should try to be more civil and intelligent instead of mindlessly pushing their point constantly without recognising that the opposing view has merit.

AND if both sides or all sides have good point and bad points, COMPROMISE. combine to good points and trash the bad points. it is NOT ALL OR NOTHING. plans can be a mish-mash of different peoples ideas.

We could keep watch, we have already had 2-4 survived assassination attempts already.[/sarcasm]

Or we can stash him away with the duke, which could be decently safe.
The only thing we need to discuss Is an appropriate place to hide him away from Owen(unless we want him to get as much publicity as possible)

Hence Gervs idea of sending him to Percival, a backwater knight with nothing important in his lands which would be a perfect hiding spot. Especially if we disguised him as a squire, or maybe a stable hand to keep him out of the eyes of other nobles.

The Duke could be another idea, but we cant cannot count on the Dukes support. He might not want to get involved due to the need to rebuild his city and lands after the invasion.

Why is it a stupid idea? He can't become Count otherwise. Our word isn't enough for his introduction into his future position.
"Count" Owen is probably already Rallying support of the other knights and lords.

before the rumour mill has weakened Owens position?

Before OWens position has been weakened in any way shape or form?

before he has been thrown into a panic by not knowing where the bastard is?

the other knights done even know there is a bastard. If we suyddenly spring up it will look very dodgy and rick alienating potential allies.

Gerv stated this over and over. we cannot just go and introduce him. another main reason is that Owen would then know who to look for and get him assassinated, among other things.

Reiterating on a previously made suggestion, we need him to have as much support to become Count, unless we want Owen to become our Liege Lord, and take his "rightful" claim on our lands. I disagree with any fighting of his town, and we must Introduce our Bastard Count with the other lords
With the support of the other Lords he will become Count. And that other guy is bad news.
No rebellion, but Owen might send an attacking force, which gives us the right to fight back.

introducing him to other lords is a fantastically stupid idea.
