My point is, we'll need someone to command the forces we leave behind, and so that's either Marna or Alan(as Captain of the Watch: Since Fin is our Militia Captain he'll be coming with us on campaign).
Fair point, but these circumstances are extremely bad. I'd rather she weren't pregnant at all. A late-term pregnant woman isn't going to travel well.
Also, a note about the asymmetrical warfare to harmonize what we're doing. I think we can all agree that this relies on dismounting most of our archers and footmen in some place with good cover, a roadside copse of wood, a thick hedgerow, a small abandoned village, a stone fence along the road, a gorge, etc. Those of us with the fastest mounts ride ahead to scout their encampments, and possibly lure some of their light cavalry into following us, then ride past our ambush site. Repeat at different places as possible. From the way they chased our messenger, they seem very eager to pursue--we can rid them of that eagerness.
Queen Elizabeth went into battle in full plate armour when she was 8 months pregnant. Women dont suddenly become meek and weak when pregnant.
........huzzah wha...? source. Please!(Not doubting you just wanna read more about that, that's awesome!
)
It was when she had raised an army to face the invading Spanish Armada. Turned out the Army wasn't needed as the English Navy outperformed the Spaniards.
She didnt actually GO INTO BATTLE, it was more like sitting on a moving horse giving a speech in plate armour whilst 8 months pregnant with many horrified advisers and aids following her like puppies in front of a huge English army that was 100% loyal to her.

Erm... The virgin queen... pregnant... in armour? Let's pass over that remark before we get into talking about depictions of women in Hollywood rubbish films.
Actually, women are relatively weak even before they're pregnant. Arm-wrestle a few. When they're pregnant, they miscarry hella easily, and a significant amount of women die at this time in even the best birthing conditions.
I'm sure it was Queen Elizabeth...
EDIT: it was, but she wasn't pregnant. my bad. and a silver-coloured plate cuirass over a velvet dress sounds classy.
