PTW on this!

1008

Hey there! I guess you guys control me now. Sometimes, it has been foretold, that someone from Beyond the Mall uses an eldritch device known only as a game controller, and allows beings to control us Marketlings. Such Marketlings have always done great deeds, for good or ill.

My name's Krazy Skizzor, the craziest soldier in Aisle 4. I killed a Dread Rat with only half a pair of scissors!

Hopefully whatever you guys make me do, it will bring glory to Aisle 4. How to do that? I'm as clueless as you.

But, I think a good start is to talk to someone who has a quest! See those guys with a yellow exclamation mark? They usually have something to do. Probably to kill rats or something. (I don't know why some think that's so trivial; thousands of Marketlings have died to rats!)

Anyways, if I accrue enough Random Crap, or RC, I can spend it to buy Useful Crap from vendors! See that guy above me? The one with the green $? He sells a bunch of useful crap, though at a high price.

This seems interesting! Might join.

Yeah, that's the problem I have with writing mystery. I think its mainly because I don't plan it at all. Mostly I was going off of the title and your plot idea.

I was worried near the end it would be like M Night Shymalan. Next time I'll plan it out and keep it paced. Thanks for your feedback!

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Marketlings (ISG) (Pixels on Aisle 4!)
« on: June 21, 2015, 08:17:06 am »
(Redo of a suggestion game I did a long time ago. This time in pixel art! Updates infrequently once or twice a week, I hope.)

The tribe of Aisle 4 has long been small, weak, and largely ignored. Once, it was a great power, ruling the highest shelves of their Aisle, feasting on quality honey and oats, enjoying plasma-TVs. Once. Now, resigned to the lower shelves, they must subsist on On Sale cereals, discount peanut-butter, and radio.

No one knows what reduced the tribe of Aisle 4 to such a state, but you know definitely who's going to bring it back to glory. You are. Take your HB pencils. Ready your tape. Your journey of Megamall begins.

Marketlings:

Select hero:

Soldier:

Equipped with sharpened HB pencil, tape, and rubber armor.

Wise-man:

Equipped with thermometer staff, sock smock, and cola-can-collector.

Explorer:

Equipped with throwing toothpicks, handkerchief survival-suit, and pet rat.

Name: (They typically name themselves after various products found in their markets.)
Gender: (They come in male and female, though they do not reproduce. Children Marketlings are found prepackaged when D'liveree brings his crate of gifts.)

However way you wish to bring glory to Aisle 4 is up to you. There are many quests to further yourself, your party, and your tribe along the way, and many dangers too. What you choose to do, and how you do it, will influence the well-being of Aisle 4.

-snip-

That's really good, dude! Really enchanting.

A random idea I had:

A bereaved parent uses crowdfunding to raise money for a reward to catch their child's murderer

Mind if I put a spin on that and turn it into a supernatural mystery? :P

Tell me what you guys think! Sorry if it's a bit long. I hope the length doesn't turn away readers.

General Discussion / Re: Mountain Dew
« on: June 19, 2015, 08:37:31 am »
Mountain Dew is great, imo, but not good enough to have it shipped to me :p Still, if you have cash to burn and you've never tried it before, it's your money.

Hey where You guys have any idea of where on the internet I can buy this thing? Ebay dosn't sell food, and my internet options beyond direct negotiation end there.

Well, I don't know about that. When do you need your Mountain Dew though? Maybe you could ask a friend abroad if they sell Mountain Dew where they live, and the next time they come to visit nearby they can bring you some?

Actually, all that cargo is for trade. Certain peoples value certain things more and certain things less. All food, water, clothes and weaponry are provided in the background, though they might be lost or damaged if the plot demands it. Like I said, this will be more focused on story and exploration.
