Spoiler: Crew (click to show/hide)

Head over to the armory to buy stuff. Maybe loot some more barter goods that I might trade off back to them.

(Search: 4)

Catonius opens a few doors, taking some trinkets, coins, and oddly shaped toys. He opens another door and enters the armory just as Anna leaves. He deposits his trinkets into the chute by the clockwork-man shopkeeper. He whirs, clanks and gives a bright smile.

"I've been looking for these forever! The damn ship's going haywire, I tell you, somethings just disappear and reappear. Anyways, I'll give you this blade-gun. Pretty standard, nothing special, but it gets the job done in melee and range."

Lost trinkets, gained blade-gun.

Decidius will follow the group from behind, not making any comments unless they are speaking to him.

((I will be away for 10 days, and I don't know if I will have internet access, so I may not be able to post. In that case, just auto me to help the group))

((No problem, you'll be auto'd 'til then.))

Decidius follows Jean to the Grand Chamber, greeted by the mummified Captain overlooking a holographic map.

Tia fires point blank into the ghoul's head. Shots to the body might not work, but everybody's got something important in their head. Failing that, she keeps trying to kick free.

(Initiative: automatic Tia, No, Ghoul 1, Ghoul 2)
(Roll to hit: 5) (Critical hit!)
(Damage: 5+2) (Critical hits can't be negated)

Tia's grave-gun hits the ghoul dead-center, the bullet ripping through the desiccated skin and obliterating the bone! Only the ghoul's unnatural physiology keeps it alive.

No Somebody inflicts several kicks unto the ghoul thing.

(Roll to hit: 6!) (Perilous hit!)
(Damage: instant death)

Robes flapping, No rushes over and lands a devastating kick to the ghoul's already mutilated head. It is obliterated, but No's unarmored foot is impaled by shards of bone, taking 2 damage.

Ghoul 2:

The second ghoul mourns the first's death, howling in unnervingly, mouth frothing in rage. Two more ghouls emerge from the dilapidated hallway.

Leave the armory, and search around for something I can barter with.

(Search: 1)

Anna opens a door to look for valuables. She finds a gleaming room, bathed in white light, almost blindingly bright. In the center is a glass machine with something growing inside. A robed man looks irritably at the intrusion.

"I TOLD YOU TO CEASE AND DESIST. YOU CAME BACK? FINE."

The glass womb opens, mist and liquid pouring out, disgorging a mewling creature onto the floor. If Anna had seen the ghouls Tia and No had been fighting, she'd see the resemblance.

Teeth gnashing, it charges!

Jeanne and Decidius:

The Captain stares blankly at the two warriors. "It seems your friends are preoccupied. It's my fault. I should've warned you that I've lost control of my ship," he says in a pained tone. "I can't control the matrices and onboard systems as well as I did. I advise you to be cautious when exploring."

He waves a hand at the holographic map. "Our first stop will be this planet: Rol. It's uninhabited by any advanced species, though predatory flora and fauna are abundant. There are quite a few resources I'd like to get from Rol, if you'd be so kind to get them from me."

He makes another gesture. The hologram shows some strange, humanoid animals. "I don't remember much about them, except that they can generate enough energy to power my ship as long as they're fed. They're called Roloth. Apart from that," he scratches his head, "I don't remember much else."

Finished rereading everything, Damien's ready and reporting for duty!

The Emperor is more or less a daemon prince in a sense (heresy I know). He's insanely psychic, can alter his appearance at will, and lives forever. If he's like the shamans that created him, he could reincarnate and come back from the Warp. He's a being of the Immaterium, rooted and tethered to the Material world.

Plus the thousands of psykers daily for ten thousand years part.

If you made his glasses opaque it wouldn't be too much of a problem. Also make it contrast with the overall red to make it stand out, if you wanted to make his glasses stand out.

Tech-priests have tons of metal tentacles. Mechadendrites and loose tubing and stuff. :p

354
Alright, time for a change of topic.

How far can someone defer from the Holy Human Form? Abhumans are tolerated. Tech-priests replace most of their meaty bits for metal ones, but they're tolerated. Space Marines more or less transcend human, and so were the primarchs, and they're revered.

So how inhuman can someone be before they get burned in the pyre?

Our whole shtick is challenging those stronger than us. Not cheaters. Those Coffin guys must be using underhanded ways, one way or another, so we bide our time.

Instead of attacking the Coffins, try to track down their temple/hideout and number of members, etc. We also need to retrieve Zhang Wei's corpse and free her from this dishonorable death.

Also we can't leave our disciples leaderless just because of poorly-planned revenge. Remember, most of the scrubs are drunken fools, and the older ones might revert back to their drunken ways. Let's not let all we've built crumble the instant we're zombified.

Dig out the temple/train the advanced class by punching the rock walls. Ensure that there are well-marked training zones to build up a nice fortified lair with rooms and such rather than a massive open expanse.
Induct the new recruits according to established methods.

This. Also, in the long term, we'll need to appoint more leaders. So guys, any creative ways to improve our Steelhearts?

Make more pie!

I think in the long run they might reinforce prejudice. Some men, not all, who would get glanced over because the employers need to meet the women minimum, could harbor resentment and discrimination when there was previously none.

I always believed life in the Imperium doesn't suck as much as it's made out to be. Unless you live in an underhive, a death world, or are conscripted into the Guard.

Most worlds have auspexes, so medical issues are probably pretty easy to solve. Probably really painful, but you'll live. Plus cybernetics everywhere.

Grox are the best foodsource available: they can thrive with literally rocks and soil, and are super nutritious. (They are super violent though, but they probably use servitors or such to handle them)

The low level of education is probably a mercy to the everyday human. Bad for morale to know which of the hundred sex toys torture tools a Dark Eldar would use, or how the daemons will tear apart your soul and feast on it after your death.

Of course, if you're one of the unfortunate humans who lives in the cruelest and bloodiest regime imaginable, you won't be living in that regime for long ;)

That's because the tens of people who lost their lives were drunken fools. Zhang Wei was beginning her path to something else. To be greater even than us. We're not mourning just the loss of someone we might have had affections for, but for the loss of potential.

No official funeral. Hold an entire hour of silent mourning for a bright star snuffed out before her time.

+1 to having new aspirants train under the Steelhearts.

Also +1 to finding the One Hundred and Eight Coffins, but don't be violent about it. If Zhang Wei was killed unfairly, then take action. If it was an honorable fight (and death), accept it, no matter how hard it may be.

No amount of pain without can match the pain within.
