they wont get adopted in cages, also your second question... thatl need testing, as i keep my stray dont want adopted animals in a pit and they never get adopted

it shouldn't be connected from upwards neither ... however it wont solve your flood problem becous rock's wich fall from cave-in wont block flow they are in a mined out form after the colision
thell shrink a bit... but not all of them wil be mined out.

ok for unconscious but even then you try not to fall on the activitator but if you just go to sleep on that tile you wont, or even if you have no choice you try to put yourself not in the activer...
thats a matter of, your intelligence VS dwarven intelligence.

okay here we go.

The adventurer wanders into the meeting hall of the human town. his eyes are ablaze with madness. he grabs a child and throws his spear at the macelord of the town, taking off his head in one shot. he is punched in the side of the head by the child and thanks to some quirk in the childs genetic makeup his head explodes.

not amazing but gory none the less

I've written pages for the wiki on this sort of thing. They might not be easy to find right now. Search for "reservoir," "well guide," and "tower guide".

I need to make sure those pages are linked to from the right places. No good writing a guide if no one can find it.

Can screw pumps be powered in a sequence? Do they need an axle between them to connect them or can they just be next to each other?
They can just be next to each other. In fact, if you build a pump and channel out one tile of the roof you can build another pump directly above it. You can build pump ladders using this method to raise liquids to any height in a compact area.

i didnd know that.... i knew they transferred it on the same z level but not that you dont need any mechanisms at all to build a pump tower.

my fisherdwarf is walking talking and running about with a pierced lung... he even tore apart a goblin when i wasnt looking.

edit: he just fell unconsious on a cage trap... perhaps i should build the cage in his tomb (gave him one for being awsome.)
