Mafia / Re: Fallacy's BYOR 4: Throwing Money in the Oven(12/12)
« on: September 19, 2018, 02:39:30 am »
So I reread the rules and apparently the mafia get the money from "the lynch subject" if a no-lynch happens. What does that mean?

Ok so, Final Conclusion #2:  Words directly cause cancer and it's God's fault.

Next Question.

The stars have almost aligned. In but a few hours, the Reservist Sun shall awaken once more to free me of my servitude.

I only learned about it from Googling.  Basically in "official" games you generally get the players hand book "plus one" other book.  Like Volo's guide to monsters (if you want to play a weird race, IIRC) or xanthumgum's guide to everything.

Can you do like the Bible and choose a compendium of several books?
Even in casual games, it's poor form to show up with a wheelbarrow full of books, claiming they're all necessary to play your character. The Adventurer's League rules are meant to create a "simple" character.

Still, PHB+1 does get pretty restrictive for us with our pegasus-riding kobold storm sorcerers.

"Say, I need an instrument to direct my spell-choir in the coming exam. Could I borrow this one? I'm sure it'd be a great honour to your wife's memory."

would rather buy a new set than sharpen something.
Ceramic knives can very much be sharpened, you just need a diamond sharpening rod.

My choice wasn't at all random, and in my opinion plays nicely to the themes of pacifism and money.

1583
No, it's more like a poetry slam. You bring something that you think is clever, then the GM twists it into a 'meaning' and then people insult you for several days straight while revealing their own cleverness one by one. And then you get salmonella from the concurrent cocktail party.

1584
did the players know who they where in a team with and did they know each other ability's?
Nope, though doomchild and I were pretty open about things in our quicktopic.

Hector, what made you choose Eggsy to kingmake over me? I'd like to know so I can best influence you next time.

General Discussion / Re: Things that made you absolutely terrified today

At the risk of annoying some scientists here, I think that the reason depressed is listed as a side effect of antidepressants is because depressed people take them, and legally speaking that means there's a correlation between taking the pills and being depressed.
More likely, this exchange happened in a clinical trial:
Researcher: "So, you've been taking this antidepressant for a two weeks now. How do you feel?
Patient: "Still kinda depressed."
Researcher: scribbles note: patient depressed after taking antidepressant; side effect, ineffective medicine or coincidence? Can't disprove the first, must add a warning.

1587
I'd be up for more.

The problem with that plan is that both of us have a roleblocker on our team, and that blocker happens to be the same person and thus the kingmaker.

Hector, I'd like to remind you that if you choose to get one of us killed, you win once. But if you accept the three-way, you fulfill both of your wincons. But if double-winning isn't to your taste, I highly recommend getting rid of Eggsy, for my abilities are far more futureproof when the last players are going to revive in this endgame.

1589
Nevermind, apparently I was roleblocked this night and thus don't currently have shots in my conversion ability. The peaceful solution would take one night longer.

1590
Eggsy, if we lynch Thanatos Russ today, you choose not to act on the following night, and we lynch FoU on the following day, we'll win a three-way victory without having to convince Hector to kingmake in either of our favour.
