Downloaded the new release, here's a quick summary of the first ten seconds.

Got ambushed by two goblin squads.

The first group swarmed over the drawbridge and immediately got torn apart by my military, who do their training near the courtyard, and the human caravan guards.
The second was a group of bowblins (gobbows?) who started to fire at my soldiers from the entrance to the fort. One swordsdwarf fell, two bowblins fell, and the rest scattered while the militia dismantled those at the front
Several dwarves have been injured, including a baby, and I have no water to treat them with.

i'm still down for my turn, haven't posted in this thread because the update was taking some time

if i'm working out of town though i'll be sure to let you guys know

On a semi-related note: it is apparently possible for a steel mace to glance off of a ravens skull. Logic?

Trying to expand stagnant pools and use floodgates to fill my moat (besides pumps, all I know how to do. I also don't know how to use pumps), which required channeling out a small area in the middle, which required building a small bridge
Thought the quicker way to get rid of it was to remove the edges, which dropped the floors through the lake, through my ore stockpile, showering the dwarves in the dining hall with boiling magma (wood + water + gravity = magma), hematite, dust and water

Now there's a corpse sitting on a table, I should just stick an apple in it's mouth and call it dinner
