I've been trying to create an exploding arrow, using a material giving off a syndrome, but I can't get it to work.

DF Modding / Question about caste_tile token
« on: August 21, 2014, 11:35:42 am »
Using [Caste_Tile] seems to result in an invisible creature, instead of it using the specified tile.
Here's an example of a modified goblin caste.

Code: [Select]
[CASTE:DRONE]
[CASTE_NAME:drone:drones:drone]
[DESCRIPION:Your standard locust drone.]
[CASTE_TILE:"d"]
[MALE]
[POP_RATIO:80]
[NATURAL_SKILL:CROSSBOW:6]

How would I make this work?

This.... is genius! No more shall dwarves be forced to live in dirty holes in the ground, when they might raise their own mountains! Looks like a good opportunity for me to learn how to mod the raws(?), too. I'd like to get on the turn list if that's okay.

Cool! I'll add you.

23rd of Hematite,

The civilians and I seem to have run into a disagreement. They think it is perfectly acceptable to leave their wounded protectors outside to die. I disagree. We will have to find a solution for this.

7th of Malachite,

It seems the problem has been solved. Training of military continues, as does the building of military facilities.

Ready to claim now.

It's still Pillymaniz' turn. If he doesn't post before the end of the week, you can claim.

1st of Granite,

I had hoped today would be easy. However, I arrived at my assigned fortress in the middle of a siege. I was able to quicly slip inside.
The military that is stationed at a bottleneck in the entrance seems to be a little undermanned. I hope this will go down well.

8th of Granite,

After a few days of being under siege, I sent the marksmen outside to take care of the invaders. They made quick work of dispatching all of the goblins. We didn't lose a single man.

Also, after examining the stocks, it seems that we have enough food. Actually, everything seems to be fine.
I'll see if I can improve the state of our militia, though.

Further inspections of nobles and commanders will follow as well. We can't have them be inefficient, of course.

EDIT:
25th of Felsite,

We were ambushed by goblins this week. Twice, actually. We managed to fend them off, but at a great loss. Kilrudkurel, AKA 'Shadowhammer' was the first to engage the goblins. After taking quite a few of them down, he was knocked unconscious and killed.

Hmm, if the current overseer isn't able to play his turn, I'd be happy to play instead (if he doesnt't object, of course.)

25
May I request a turn? I've never played a succession game before, but it sounds fun.

Cool, of course. I'll add you to the list!

What a great idea for an embark challenge: Landscape and build the embark to look exactly like another embark.  It becomes a mountainhome, because you build/sculpt the mountain into the site.  Genius!

Hahaha, you can join too, if you'd like to. I have a feeling it's more "stupid and time consuming" than genius, though :P

1st of Granite, 202

It would appear that I have been replaced as overseer. Something about me having a criminal past.
Well, let's see how far we've come.

We've set up housing for the community. As have we set up a few production facilities for food and building materials. The next overseer might be able to start designing the mountain.

The stocks are great. We have food, booze and building materials in excess.

I have spent my last few days as overseer building a tomb for myself and eating luxury food. I hope the next overseer will get me some important position in the future.

27th of Malachite, 201

Some migrants arrived a few days ago. It appeared however, that they had not properly followed the instructions on their map, as they arrived at the wrong side of the river. We had to build a bridge to get them to the right side.

There were eight of them. It appears that one of them is a brewer and that another is a blacksmith. We'll now be able to set up our brewery. Rooms have already been dug out for this, as have their bedrooms.

We've also started setting up our block production.

Arrival

1st of Granite, 201

We have arrived at the site chosen by our elders today. They have named it Geartouched. We have used most of our supplies on the way here. We have some alchohol left, and spawn of those filthy plump helmets. One of the dogs has also birthed some puppies.

Our task is to build a new mountain here. An actual mountain. Well, let's start by getting some of the fundations in the ground.

I'd like to take part in this if it is still going on, it sounds really cool!

No problem! I'll add you to the list!
