Blew up a rift to the Warp, then proceeded to purge all Kroot who consumed Chaos-tainted flesh(despite never actually using Cannibalize - I know damn well not to let Kroot eat that stuff). Then I herded all humans left on the planet into gender-separated re-education and sterilization camps for the Greater Good.

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. Finished Tau campaign by defeating Chaos. I think I took more casualties fighting up the hill to the Warp rift than in every other stronghold assault mission combined. Probably because Tau is "shoot everything with everything", lacking much in the way of specialization. They have little functional melee(except the Greater Knarloc which doesn't count), little dedicated anti-vehicle or anti-building(or specific anti-infantry for that matter), no defensive turrets or mines, no effective artillery, and a curious lack of special abilities with any major effects. The Ethereal gets two, one is useless, the other requires putting the Ethereal in harm's way. Normal infantry get a decent A-I grenade if they have squad leader and a crappy shield if they have a drone, and Pathfinders get insignificant markerlights. That's about it.

The oddest bit about the AAR for the Tau-vs-Chaos Stronghold is that it mentions that it was "miraculous" that no Tau fell to Chaos during the battle. Why would they? Their souls have little to offer daemons for possession, and with their indoctrination to the Greater Good(an Ethereal is on-planet as well), they have little reason to willingly join. The only Tau who would have been at risk was the commander, Shas'o Kais, who is the only Tau ever to be possessed by Khorne - and he recovered. Maybe the Kroot are at risk, but they got purged.
