WHy does people not try to get up archery and use xbows against ranged too???
I mean, if the archers are a real archnemesis of adventurers, why not use their weapon against them??

Today i came to a settlement haunted by a vampire with my 3 fellow hammermen. I asked about a vamp there and one townsman pointed me to a neighbour, standing in the doorway. I talked to him and accused him of being a vampire. He opened himself to me, threatining murder and chaos, to which i responded by throwing an iron pike in his direction...........The pike flew one square, hitting the vamp in his brain which made him SHUT THE FUCK UP on the spot...
Too bad he later got ambushed at the nearby river by half a dozen goblins who cut him up him.
