« on: July 18, 2014, 06:09:14 pm »Yeah, it doesn't yet "train" them according to your play-style or anything, though any entity memberships you have at the retire should be respected, as well as the reputation/friendships and other relationships that are tracked to whatever degree. I remember we had some plans to allow a retirement to be to do a specific thing for a period (weapon practice, working etc.), and you could just watch the calendar or do another character while it happens to keep them a little more tied down. But none of that stops their village from being attacked or whatever.
Toady, would it ever be possible to fully customize an Adventure's personality, as one could customize last names? It seems like that could be interesting to make a psychopath knight like the Mountain, or a simple happy-go-lucky peasant like Bilbo Baggins. You've already made a "Local Important" and "Peasant" choices.

I've been talking to people asking for some guidance. They say that there is a guy who is well-travelled in a tavern, or some such. How do I distinguish a Tavern from a regular House? Also, how would I use a guide?

My first Adventure as a Human started as me as a Hearthsman to a Lord of a Hamlet. I walk about the Hamlet, and decide to kill a guy or two. I slash a guy up, and he draws his knife to fight me. I cut off his slash arm, and decapitate him. I grab his corpse, and throw it into his house, and shout my victory,
"It is terrifying"
I yell again.
"It was inevitable"
I returned to the hearth (is that the name of the Lord Fort?) still a little lusty for power. So I told the ruler that I was in charge now. He said I must be stopped by any means, so I stabbed him. He ran away tail behind his legs, and I became the Lord.
Love Adventure mode so much.

Although I'm not a strong muscle-bound guy, I'm really light and maneuverable. It helps that my weight is 116 lbs. I'd probably have a few daggers, and stay in a town until my sneaking is GrandMaster. I'd get a bunch of guys to come with me, because I am a people person. I'd train myself in light armor and dodging, and I'd probably hang around a fort, laughing and eating and having a good old time with other adventurers. Until I get bored and decide to go on an adventure, but in my excitement, I'd forget where I wanted to go. Maybe my friends would know?

Why are predatory animals such fucking canon fodder? Wolves, coyotes, lions, tigers, cougars, they are all so easy to kill! The only exception is the Grizzly Bear, but even then,his cousin the black Bears so easy! Why?
