Right. I decided to run another game – my fourth one so far. This one isn't an RtD, though, being based on a simplified GURPS ruleset – what I like to call “GURPS Ultralite”. A 3d6 roll-under system is used for actions, and there are four stats. Hitpoints are present, though I reserve the right to interpret them creatively (-1 HP is a scratch. -15 HP is something like having your arm blown off, with all the consequences that entails.) I won't use a formal system for Advantages, Disadvantages, or Quirks, and skills that can be represented by roleplaying, like Savoir-Faire, are also not gonna be used.

The setting is early Renaissance in Earth terms – gunpowder weapons have recently been invented, and steam technology is in the early stages of development. Medieval armaments are still widely used, though. Much of the world has undergone a transition from viewing humans as insignificant and powerless before the whims of Fate to a view of Man as the sole creature that stands unbowed before it, equal to a god in all but scale. It cannot be determined if this shift occurred because of all the advances in technology, or the other way around. I should warn you that it's a non-magical fantasy setting - there may be monsters, but no fireballs can be thrown by normal humans. Sorry.

Now for the bureaucratic part: I wished to make this game playable for people who haven't read the GURPS rulebook. We won't be using official GURPS charsheets, long skill lists, complex rules for picking your nose, et cetera. Still, if you have time, the GURPS Lite rulebook is available here. For those who don't, the important rules are below.

There is a waitlist, if anybody asks.

Set two more Falcon PDWs to be manufactured in the meantime. Then skim through the contents of the pirates' harddisks.

Ah.

Computer: add jump-jets to my earlier design.

((By the way, is there gravitation down there?))
((Obviously. It's a goddamn planet, and F=G*(m1*m2)/R2))

((Yes, I want to come. I have an idea, though, dunno how it will turn out...))
Computer: generate plans for a small, agile one-man atmospheric combat skimmer with a computer-assisted weapon system. Calculate total resources needed.

That was Lone Tophat, Medicine Man was spamming shock images.
Yup. Sorry, looked at the wrong row. Still, I wonder what does "repeatedly being creepy" constitute.

Speaking of bans and mutes, there's a guy in the modlog called "Medicine Man" who got banned for "repeatedly being creepy". What's that supposed to mean? Does anybody remember this incident?

So I did a comparative analysis of all kvass I have found on the Moscow market. I'm not sure if anybody gives a shit about this topic here, though. Should I tell?

I'm mostly fascinated on how did you do the analysis on kvass of all the things.
Well, I dunno, I guess I drank it?

Right. Kvass is a fermented beverage made from either rye bread or flour (rye and/or wheat) and malt (either wheat or barley). Factory kvass is made from flour, malt, sugar, and a fermentation starter, while homegrown kvass is usually made with bread, yeast, and sugar. Technically, kvass doesn't have to contain grain products at all; historically, fermented beverages made with berries and stuff were also called kvass. However, I only found one example of that, so there.
Kvass usually contains from 0.4 to 1.2% alcohol. It's sometimes classified as a kind of beer by foreign experts, but hell. Kefir is more alcoholic. You need like, five liters of kvass to get even a light buzz.
Proper kvass should have a bready, sourish taste (not too sweet) and a slight fizz. It's not supposed to be carbonated, or rather, it's supposed to carbonate itself during fermentation, but what are you gonna do.

So, having done with this little lecture, here are my findings.

Because robot spiders.

Anton pauses to consider this.

-Ah...Robot spiders. What robot spiders? You need any help with that?

And then the Light, having finished its song, remembered those forty Chosen that it had forgotten in the darkness below the worlds. Of course, they could travel between wordlds, but that was such a simple, unsatisfying option.

And so it spun a dream from the fibers of memory and longing: a dream of a silver needle that pierces the skies, bringing worlds together with each stitch, a needle with a thread of flame. A dream of the endless void between the stars, and the far expanses of the universe, and a dream of the thousands of non-Chosen who would never see their worlds as tiny pale dots, small enough to hold in their hands; a dream of melancholia, infused with a desire for greatness.

This dream it cast to the forty, appealing to their daring and their need to lead and guide others. In the dream was that tiny spark of inspiration that starts a wildfire; the knowledge of the fire salts of the earth and of strong metalwork the Chosen had already.

Teach the forty Chosen left on the plane rocketry and send them to visit the three wanderers. Conceal the fact that I sent the dream, but make it instantly recognizable in tone so that if I send another, they notice that the dreams are similar.

-We have lots of steel now, and we can always return to Sigurd to cut off more - I trust we left it in a stable orbit, so the calculations involved won't be too difficult. I'd say we should make some mining drones.

Having stated this, Anton returns to his current business - designing a specialized body for himself, considering the results of his first engagement.

A standard engineer chassis, but more powerful legs for faster sprinting speed and a combination welding and cutting tool/melee weapon integrated into one arm. Add additional hydraulics to the legs to make their step softer and to permit jumps from a larger height. More powerful leg magnets to permit walking on walls and ceilings freely, as well as thin soft pads on the soles to silence the noise.

You sure you haven't gotten me mixed up with someone else?
Currently reading The Return of Reasonability. And you just ate a dude alive while he tried to handcuff you. And I think you did that somewhere else too. But I may be wrong. No offence intended, of course, I just don't know you very well.
